5 out of 5 stars Never goes back on the rack.......2007-07-04

We all have those cd's that sit forever next to the player and never make it back onto the rack. Ever since I discovered Argus it has taken on a prominent place in that frequently played pile. My discovery of this album while browsing Amazon was quite by accident and up until that moment I had never even heard of the band. But after reading the reviews I decided to give it a shot. What I found was an early 1970' gem that's equal parts bluesy and progressive with great vocal harmonies and a guitar duo that should be ranked amoung the best that rock has ever seen. It can be held up as a perfect example of "the album". Not just a collection of songs, but one of those rare moments in history when everything clicks, the material, the performence, the recording, the packaging, everything sits tightly and flawlessly together. The three live bonus tracks are a little more raw than the studio material, but when compared to other live recordings of the day, they bear witness to the fact that Wishbone Ash was just as capable on stage as in the studio. It's certainly the place to start if you're at all interested in this band, the only downside being that their other albums-as great as many of them are-all have to live up to this recording.

4 out of 5 stars An exciting and creative album of hard rock .......2007-04-15

Interestingly enough, my first exposure to this great album was through the Supernatural Fairytales progressive rock box set put out by Rhino. The track presented on the box set was Warrior, an imaginative bit of hard rock that sounded "proggy enough" that my curiosity was piqued and I picked this album up. All in all, Argus (1972) is an excellent concept album of hard rock that features some great playing and features creative arrangements.

The lineup on the album included Steve Upton (drums and percussion); Martin Turner (Gibson Thunderbird bass guitar); Andy Powell (electric and acoustic guitars); and Ted Turner (electric and acoustic guitars). Much to my surprise (and delight) John Tout of English progressive rock group Renaissance played a very "churchy" sounding Hammond organ on Throw down the Sword (although I swear that I heard a tiny bit of mellotron buried in there somewhere as well). The guys are all great musicians and are capable of jamming pretty intensely. I especially like the aggressive and trebly sound that Martin gets out of his Gibson - in fact it reminds me a great deal of the sound John Entwistle would get. As a side note, Wishbone Ash had supported The Who on a few occasions, and their influence is felt on a few tracks (particularly Time Was, which would not have been out of place on Who's Next (1971)). The twin lead guitar work is also great and a pleasant change of pace for me - as a progger I am used to hearing leads played on synthesizers or just a single lead guitar (two guitarists were highly unusual for most prog bands).

The music on Argus is a great blend of hard rock jamming, nice acoustic passages, and thoughtful arrangements. Dynamics are used pretty effectively and the quieter pieces balance the heavier tracks nicely. The vocal melodies are also excellent and really contribute a great deal to the album, which seems to be arranged in a song-cycle suite of sorts.

This remastered album features great sound quality and loads of liner notes. The bonus tracks are all excellent although my favorite is 10'10" proggy workout entitled The Pilgrim - this is a fantastic track that features some intricate ensemble work and great playing by the entire band. Another fun track is the high energy jam on the 17'05" Phoenix. Apparently, the three bonus tracks were taken from an August 21, 1972 concert in Memphis, Tennessee, USA and were released as a limited edition promotional album.

All in all, a great album of hard rock by this English band that is creative enough that it makes for a very enjoyable listening experience.

5 out of 5 stars Simply The Best.......2007-03-13

Argus is Wishbone Ashes masterpiece. They never bettered it. The best example I know of for crystal clear twin-lead (Gibson ans Fender) guitars-way ahead of it's time. Their vocals also never sounded better. One of life's mysteries is why The Ash never continued in this direction? They followed up with 'Wishbone Four', which is great, but pales next to this gem. Every home should have a copy. Over the years I have had 3 LPs, 2 tapes, 2 eight-track tapes (wore them all out. I had the older master of the cd, now I have this remixed cd and it is absolutely stunnig in clarity----Bravo! Buy it, you need it--pioneering English rock from the early seventies.

2 out of 5 stars Too 1970's..........2006-12-06

I was tipped off to Wishbone Ash from an article I read about Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) who credited this band as being one of his earliest and biggest influences.

I bought their self titled debut album and this one from Amazon based on that article and also because both of these albums were well received by reviewers.

Maybe I read too much into the article or perhaps this was just another spur of the moment purchase, but I think these albums would better suit 1970's rock fans per se i.e. a fan of the period than those who prefer the harder style of rock that would emerge from the mid to late 1970's.

The album does have its moments, and there are some really nice melodies and some nice guitar/bass work, but it too often drifts into that very early "happy happy" 1970's sound that marked the transition from the 1960s to the 1970's.

I guess that should be expected, since this album was released only two years into the turbulent new decade at the close of the flower power hippie period.

The use of the twin guitars a noteworthy feature, since this band is also credited as an early pioneer of this style of rock. The bass is unusually active for this period and doesn't just settle for simple changes, which would make sense, since they did influence Steve Harris after all.

I prefer this album to their debut, but it does make me think of an English version of the Eagles if there ever was such a thing. Not that that is a bad thing.

I am a fan of 1970's rock and I think this decade produced some fantastic guitar/bass rock, but this is just a little too 70's for my tastes.

If you are new to Wishbone Ash as I am, but are basically a hard rock/metal fan at heart, try looking for MP3 versions on the web and just test drive one or two songs before you decide on buying a complete album.

5 out of 5 stars Wishbone's BEST.......2006-11-10

The album "Argus" by Wishbone Ash is by far their best studio album they ever produced. Every song, except maybe "Leaf and Stream" is a beautifully crafted 'artsy" rock style. Somewhat similar to Pink Floyd or Steely Dan, only with much more guitars. With the addition of their awesome song "Phoenix" added to this remastered & revisited cd, this is defintily a WishBone Ash essential cd. Favorite picks are "Sometimes World" and "Blowing Free". Can't go wrong with this CD

4 out of 5 stars A must for any CD collection.......2007-01-13

If you like dualing guitars then this is the album for you.

5 out of 5 stars Buy It For The Guitar Work........Excellent Stuff.......2006-11-04

Sparing you the redundancies....and any poetic landscape creations by said reviewer, let me spell it out for you very simply. If you are a guitarist, and particularly one who salivates over anything that's British blues in the vein of Danny Kirwan, Paul Kossoff, Peter Green, Peter Frampton, Mick Abrahams.....among the many others you already know about and enjoy, and you have never heard of Ted Turner and Andy Powell, then you will truely enjoy the music on this CD. Best way I can describe their playing is they deliver more of what gives you goose-bumps when listening.....More of what made you pickup the guitar.....more reasons for you to grab it while listening. Awesome tone from I believe a Les Paul and Strat. Excellent phrasing, slow build-up of melodic jamming, think drifting floating dreamy playing climaxing into hard driving harmonies like early Fleetwood Mac...If you dig the Kirwan/Green harmonies on some of their live stuff but wished they kept it going than you will get an idea what this cd contains. I hear uniqueness in Turner/Powell, but I hear shades of Green, stinging attack and vibrato of Kirwan, phrasing of early Frampton (think Guilded Splinters)and more.
Buy it and immerse yourself.

5 out of 5 stars Make a Wish.......2006-05-01

5 out of 5 stars a never ending delight.......2005-12-27

Some albums never seem to grow old, always sounding fresh. Derek & The Dominos 'Layla', The Beatles 'Abbey Road', The Rolling Stones 'Let It Bleed' are examples and if Wishbone Ash had received better or any? exposure in the States, their first album 'Wishbone Ash' would rank with those I mentioned as well as any others ever released. From the moment I heard the opening cut, I was hooked. Powered by twin lead guitarists Andy Powell and Ted Turner, with bassist Martin Turner *no relation to Ted* and tireless Steve Upton on drums, this 4 member band redefined rock. This debut album, along with the brilliant Argus, stand has two efforts appreciated by an almost cult following *I would guess that part of the reason this group lacked air play was their stubborn refusual to cut shorter tunes so that FM stations, trapped in AM mindsets, would give them cover...I'm glad they bucked the system in that regard*. For examples of this phenomenally talented group's live sound, I would suggest 'Live Dates' or 'Live In Chicago', where Andy and Ted were reunited. Last I heard, Andy still plows on. In fact, I heard Wishbone Ash just a few years ago with Andy and some very competent backups. Early in the 70's, I was lucky to see the original 4 twice in concert. Without hesitation, I would suggest that any serious lover of rock isn't truly serious without this MAJOR OPUS in their collection. Rolling Stone magazine a few years back selected their Top 20 Guitarists of all time: Andy and Ted were selected as a tandem. I think that alone speaks volumes. Unlike too many of today's guitarists with 3 power chords and incidental or accidental riffs?, Andy and Ted wove as one, would split off into twin melodic leads only to come back as one guitar in the hands of two masters. WISHBONE ASH are rock giants without peer...and sadly, without big time exposure.

5 out of 5 stars The Most Underrated Musicians I've Ever Heard.......2005-01-17

One of the many hidden gems of rock 'n roll, Wishbone Ash's debut is nothing short of breath-taking. Consider the fact that they had only been playing together for about a year, and that makes it even more remarkable.

First of all, I consider Andy Powell and Ted Turner to be the two most gifted guitarists in all of rock music. For two guys who didn't make much of an impact, they could flat-out PLAY better than anyone else I've ever heard (yes, Hendrix included). Take the beginning of "Handy", for example. I have never heard any other players weave their guitars together and create such heart-breaking melodies. It's absolutely hypnotizing. The scorching solo on "Lady Whiskey" is another great example.
Martin Turner proves to be a phenomenal bass player, complemented by Steve Upton to form one hell of a rhythm section.

BLIND EYE: Their first single. A stomping boogie tune, the groove is just irresistible. Great, jazzy playing from Andy and Ted. Gotta love that stop/start structure.

LADY WHISKEY: Built around a wonderful riff, resplendent with some thundering bass and ferocious guitar playing in the middle.

ERRORS OF MY WAY: Here, the band incorporates folk music into their sound, and the result is grand. Those vocal harmonies by Mart and Andy are just divine. Great, emotional guitar solo as well.

QUEEN OF TORTURE: Now THIS is one rocking tune! Just listen to that riff. First solo is good, second one BURNS.

HANDY: In my opinion, probably the best song on the album. This is one of the most unique songs I've ever heard by anyone. Kind of hard to categorize, it's kind of "psychedelic jazz". It begins with some glorious, un-accompanied bass playing. Let it be noted that I've rarely heard anyone else who can get such wonderful melodies from a bass guitar. Martin was really awesome. Then, Ted and Andy come in and play some of the most beautiful, dreamy, haunting melodies that have ever been recorded. The atmosphere they convey is astonishing. Then Martin comes in with another bass solo, and it turns into a mid-paced rocker with awesome guitar. Then there's a short drum solo (and a great one) before it turns into a pure jazz tune. The most amazing thing here is the guitar solo. Andy and Ted were only 19 or 20 at the time. The fact that somebody could play jazz THAT GOOD at such a young age is incredible. Jazz is one of the hardest styles to play on guitar, yet these guys rip it out like child's play. The licks are amazing - fast, stinging and amazingly fluid. Don't know if it's Ted or Andy, but it's killer nonetheless. The songs ends with some crazy scat-singing from Martin. One hell of a song.

PHOENIX: Their show-stopper. This is the song that blew everyone away when they played it live. No doubt it's a masterpiece, the way it evolves from a slow, eerie ballad to an all-out guitar thunderstorm (courtesy of Ted Turner). Absolutely stunning. The lyrics, of course, are about the legendary fire bird Phoenix (from Greek mythology, I think), believed to have risen from ashes to fly again. This is, hands down, one of the greatest electric guitar pieces ever made. What Ted does here is amazing - going from lovely and serene to furious and gut-wrenching in a matter of seconds. His bends are almost tear-inducing, and that ear-melting lick at the 6:49 mark is especially devastating. Man, someone get an extinguisher 'cause that boy was ON FIRE!!!

All in all, one of the best albums I've ever heard. ARGUS is of course their most famous, but this one is equal to it.

5 out of 5 stars A Timeless Classic.......2006-11-25

My brother surprised me with this album for Christmas back in 1973.I was 16 at the time. Though I had seen the band's records in stores I had never heard them.Of course this album became an instant favorite(and Larry I am forever grateful). The best thing is that after all this time this record is still a major source of inspiration.I especially love firing up one of my 2 Flying V's and blasting along with Andy's killer lead on Warrior. Damn, what a way to kick off a song. Other faves are Blowin' Free, Ballad Of The Beacon and Throw Down The Sword. Great stuff.

5 out of 5 stars Live Dates.......2006-08-21

This is by far the best CD of wishbone ash I have come accross.
the version of the King will come is by far the best. I cannot get enough of this CD the guitar work and drumming are out of the top draw.

4 out of 5 stars Live Dates: Great Live CD that deserved a bigger audience .......2006-05-22

Wishbone Ash deserved better, I thought this album would be there breakout in America and make them a superstar band. I rate this CD 4 1/2 stars. A great live collection that ranks up their with Humble Pie/Rockin the Fillmore, and the Allman Brothers Band at the Fillmore East. Live Dates holds it's own with the above mentioned bands.

This was recorded over June 1973 during their tour of England and featured their best lineup- Andy Powell, Steve Upton, and the Turners. Live Dates features the songs from their creative peak, and the audience is vocal throughout the duo guitar assault, responding to the incredible harmonics, interplay, melodies woven around each epic song.

I can only describe Wishbone Ash as being similar to progressive rock group Yes, subtracting the keyboards and then adding another lead guitarist. Martin Turner's vocals remind me a little of Jon Andersons' singing for Yes. This is a vague comparison for those who have never listened to Wishbone Ash.
The songs Phoenix and The Pilgrim are numbers that are paced like Yes tracks, layered with great guitar work, interwoven, with Andy Powell and David "Ted" Turner working together and not fighting against each other. Their improvisation on these tracks are tremendous, with Phoenix lasting 17 minutes, and The Pilgrim lasting just over 9 minutes long.

Disc One is centered around British mythology, legend of King Arthur themes, Lord of the Rings, it seems to me. The first 3 songs fit well together- The King Will Come, Warrior, and Throw Down The Sword, telling a story of battle in ancient England.

Rock n Roll Widow is the most commercial track on Disc One. I didn't care too much for the Everly Brothers' remake- Baby What You Want Me To Do. The most commercial tracks on Disc Two are- Jail Bait and Blowin' Free. The Pilgrim and Phoenix songs were previously mentioned above.

Had the original lineup stayed together, maybe they would have eventually taken America by storm. I could have pictured the Live Dates lineup recording songs for The Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter soundtracks.

4 out of 5 stars Great music. Not so-great sound........2005-12-29

I love this live set but just wish the CD sounded brighter and richer. Still highly recommended, but the mastering makes the recording sound a bit dated.

5 out of 5 stars Emphasis on English..........2005-04-17

Wishbone Ash have often been called the English Allman Brothers and there are quite a few outward similarities. Two great live bands each with two superb guitarists and a tight, driving rhythm section cranking out music that acknowledges it's roots while constantly going beyond them. But while the roots of the early Allmans(before the untimely death of brother Duane)were firmly in Southern blues, Wishbone Ash finds their inspiration in the pre-Christian mysticism and eerie melodies found in English folk music. But make no mistake about it, this is tight, driving rock n' roll delivered by one of the best live bands of the 70's. If you go for guitar driven rock with a distinctly English flavor Live Dates will become one of your all time favorites.

5 out of 5 stars First Light.......2007-05-08

This is a must buy for Wishbone Ash fans. This is the bands first known recording before there first album came out back in 1970. The cd has a mix of mostly songs that were recorded officially on there first two albums, as well as some songs done that never made it to vinyl during that time. The recordings on the cd were pre-1st album recordings from the vaults that were never released until now. Track One: "Lady Whiskey" One of the classic Wishbone Ash songs that you never get tired of listoning. A very young Martin Turner on vocals on this track.Track Two: " Road of Day to Day" Previously unreleased song. An " Argus" type of song, that features some nice guitar solo's from Andy and Ted. Track Three: " Blind Eye" This of course is one of the bands great traditional songs. Ted Turner on vocals. Track Four: "Joshus"This is a previously unreleased song also. A nice jazzy intrumental. Track Five: "Queen of Torture" Another one of Wishbone Ash's classic songs. Nicely done too. Duel leads from Ted and Andy highlight this track. Track Six: "Alone" A instrumental on there original album. This track features vocals. Another great short track from the boys.Track Seven: Handy. This is one of my many favorite songs from the original Wishbone Ash album as well as this one. Another great double lead guitar song that also features Steve Upton on drums.Track Eight: " Errors Of MY Way" This song still is one of my favorite Wishbone Ash songs of all time. Great harmony lead guitars, as well as some great vocals. This cd, like I said, is a must for all Wishbone Ash fans. If you love the early years of Wishbone Ash, you will love this cd. Bruce H.

3 out of 5 stars Silver Shoes?? Hometown??.......2006-08-29

I cannot catagorize this as being the "best" without seeing the likes of "Silver Shoes" and "Hometown" (There's the Rub). "Silver Shoes" has got to be my all-time fave song by these guys, besides "Blowin' Free". "Hometown" is just a good rocker with great hooks. Sorry, but not "best of" in my book.

5 out of 5 stars Some Really Great Stuff.......2006-06-17

The absolute BEST Classic Rock band that rarely gets played by
local radio. Fortunately satellite radio let me hear them again
after years without, so I bought this CD and love it.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for W A, but a good place to start.
I was fortunate to see Andy Powell and the current line-up live
recently...WOW!
I can't believe they are not more well known,
the musicianship from all four players was outstanding. They
continue to release new material and tour. Seeing them in a
small theater is just a wonderful night of quality rock music.
I enjoyed them more than the Stones, U2 and others. Get some
Wishbone Ash, you will not regret it.

3 out of 5 stars Best from 1970 - 1975........2002-07-08

This is their "best" '70 thru '75 (There's The Rub), although they inexplicably throw in 1 good song ("Living Proof") from a good 1980 album (Just Testing). This album is also good because of the excellent liner notes which chronicle the band's history, up thru 1991. An important slice of 70's Rock history. A good way for new fans to test the waters before buying their early albums (Argus, There's the Rub, Pilgrimage). Nothing from W.Ash IV here, probably due to lack of room. [I wish this were a double album.]

4 out of 5 stars A VERY GOOD INTRODUCTION TO TWIN GUITAR.......2001-05-14

I like Wishbone Ash of the 70's and I own most of their original albums on CD. Such great and innovative band deserves a double CD compilation but this single (75 min. long) CD comp also works quite good. The problem with their releases is that as far as I know none of their classic 70's albums ever exist in digitally remastered version. This CD represents an excellent digitally remastered sound unavailable elsewhere for most of the tracks. Compiled by Andy Powell himself one can get here two important tracks from their first eponymous album including a 12 minutes epic Phoenix, second album Pilgrimage might seem underrepresented, although an instrumental 8+ minutes self-titled composition is here. Their best Argus is treated how it should be - 4 out of 7 original tracks, one of which (Blowin' Free) was re-recorded in 1997 specifically for this release in an acoustic version and unavailable elsewhere. Wishbone 4 and "sunk as a stone" Locked In (1976) are skipped but beautiful Lorelei from 1976's New England is here recorded LIVE in England in 1976. There's The Rub is represented with Persephone and instrumental F.U.B.B. After reading well written and informative liner notes you will also get to know what F.U.B.B. actually means. The last track Living Proof is highly valuable - not only it was a monster hit in Britain, but this is one of the best songs from Just Testing album which is ...a very hard-to-find item. Anyway it is worth buying not only by neophytes but also by more devoted Wishbone fans.

Album Description

Every now and then, a fine guitar band will release one or two albums that just become so unbeatable that other hopefuls try to emulate their sound or the success. One of the finest hard-rocking guitar based bands in rock history have always been Wishbone Ash. They, fortunately, have a trail of albums that continue to thrill audiences and record buyers all over the world. With that in mind, Andy Powell and the band drove in from a snowy cold winter drive from the Northeast, and plugged in to the XM studios and delivered a show fit for a king.

The audience was made up of Ash fan club and contest winners, and the band performed a critic's choice of their most famous tracks. In this show, you hear "The King Will Come" "Blowin' Free" and "Ballad of the Beacon." The artists decided to give the radio audience and the fans a rare glimpse into their vast catalog of music, and the show was never to be repeated again, except for a very rare fan club disc....that is until now!

Andy Powell would love the Wishbone Ash folks that didn't make the gig back in 2004, have the pleasure of hearing what a few got a chance to witness. This new cd "Live On XM Satellite Radio" truly captures the band in its hard rocking forum. Dual-guitars from Andy and Muddy Manninen ( his fourth gig with the band!!!!) carry the melodies and intricate workings of each song The amazing bass of Bob Skeat and drummer extraordinaire Ray Weston continue the workout on nine selections that will thrill the listener from the first few seconds of the disc.

Like our other fine release Illuminations ( FRM 1017), Wishbone Ash continually make fine recordings, this new live album continues the tradition.

Album Description

Wishbone Ash are continually making fine records for their millions of fans. As a gift to these worldwide "Ash" freaks, Andrew Powell & Co. have gone back to the future, and have recorded live on XM Satellite radio.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Pleasently Surprised.......2007-05-16

I was not expecting much from this CD having been disappointed by some of the more recent Wishbone Ash releases. What a surprise. The sound quality was good and the band played well off of the crowd. It does not have the impact and energy of the original line up (check out "Live Dates") but I did enjoy it quite a bit.

5 out of 5 stars Wishbone Ash Live At XM Satellite Radio Studio 2004!.......2006-11-27

This live broadcast recorded November 22, 2004 at the XM Satellite Radio Studios in Washington D.C. showcases just how great Wishbone Ash really are. It's very upfront and personal with original lead guitarist/vocalist Andy Powell talking with what appears to be a small audience chosen for this recording. The bulk of the songs are, for the most part, classic Wishbone Ash such as "The King Will Come", "Warrior", "Throw Down The Sword", "Blowin' Free", "Ballad Of The Beacon", "F.U.B.B.", "Living Proof" plus later tracks "Faith, Hope & Love", and "Almighty Blues". The songs are played to perfection with soaring lead guitar solos and the sound quality of this recording is nothing less than superb. Also, this was the fourth gig for new Wishbone Ash guitarist Muddy Manninen. The liner notes are few but informative. Wishbone Ash fans will definately want to add this to their cd collection.

3 out of 5 stars NOT BAD, BUT NOT THE BEST MASTERING AVAILABLE.......2007-03-20

This 2CD set is a good representation of WA's best-known tracks.

However, if you're looking for the best audio, spend a little more and pick up "Distillation", the 2001 4CD box set anthology.

The audio on that set sounds like it was one step closer to the original masters. There is far more clarity in the drums, especially in the high hat.

A/B "F*U*B*B" on both sets and you'll hear the difference immediately and distinctly.

This also goes for the Japan mini-sleeve remasters. I have compared them all against "Distillation" and the box set wins.

Link to the Distillation Box Set.

      5 out of 5 stars Nice Collection.......2006-05-01

If you are new or catching up on old times this is a nice example of their first few albums..Way ahead of their time, and now kinda lost in time,, a super band from the late 60's and 70's,, Still around today Andy Powell( lead Guitar) has various line ups and is still recording and playing..Some how they got lost in the shuffle and never quite made as big as their talents deserved. If you like double guitars soaring and complimenting each other, they got it, 70's type of singing, yes I said singing, remember when groups sang?? Not yelling at you and grabing their crotches..Great ambient sounds, very well recorded for the time, still sounds amazing quiet and free of noises etc, on the quieter passages, sounds terrific on digital media with headphones.. Really hard to belive that it was recorded that long ago.. Highly recommended electric rock.. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do,,Chris

5 out of 5 stars THIS CD IS JUST GREAT LISTENING. HANDS DOWN GREAT........2000-08-05

WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS ALBUM IT WAS PURELY ON THE REPUTATION WISHBONE ASH HAD BUILT FOR ITSELF. AND LET ME TELL YOU THE ALBUM TO THIS DAY REMAINS THE BEST I'VE HEARD FROM THEM. I LOVE IT. THOSE SONGS ARE GREAT. "LIVING PROOF" IS THE FIRST SONG. IT'S MY FAVORITE. THE SONGS JUST HAS GREAT MELODIES AND HARMONIES. "INSOMNIA" IS ALSO GOOD. IT'S A VERY DIFFERENT TWIST FOR THEM. BUT I THINK YOU'LL LIKE IT. ONE OF THE SLOW SONGS IS "NEW RISING STAR". A SLOW ROCKING SONG. VERY ENJOYABLE. THEN THERE'S "MASTER OF DISGUISE". THIS SONG HAS GREAT VOCALS. THE REST OF THE SONGS ARE ALSO VERY GOOD. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS THAT THIS ALBUM IS DEFINETLY DIFFERENT. THE GUITAR ATTACKS COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER GREAT. THE BASS LINES ARE AWESOME. THE VOCALS ON 7 OUT OF THE 8 TRACKS ARE AWESOME. I FIND THIS ALBUM VERY COMFORTING AND ENJOYABLE TO LISTEN TO. WISHBONE ASH OUTDID THEMSELVES ON THIS ONE.
