Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Wish I was there.......2005-10-04

Randy and a crack band play most of the hits from Guess Who and BTO while Randy tells an inside story on each song. The band is tight and the renditions are very good, not quite note for note but close enough that the songs aren't changed at all. The stories are terrific and Randy sounds like he is having a real good time.
The band is really good and a band member who sounds a lot like Burton Cummings sings a couple of his numbers. Everyone who attended the concert in Vancouver left with a terrific musical memory. My only regret is I wish I was there.

5 out of 5 stars fun listening.......2004-04-13

great stories, and the playing is excellent.

the intresting part of the cd is the "toned down" versions of "let it ride", and "four wheel drive".

definately worth a listen. wish that he had more time to expound on obscure tunes, and some of the "ironhorse", "union", and solo things.

5 out of 5 stars A great album from a great musician.......2004-03-16

Me being canadian, i was able to find this cd in the regular rack without ordering it in from this site, and being a fan of Randy Bachman from The Guess Who, to BTO, to the present, i figured this would be worth a listen. Upon buying it, i still didn't have high expectations when i learned it was a unplugged album (but still have some distortion), but buy the end of the album, i had gained a new respect for all of his music. I was also expecting to be distracted by the storys, but they are just as entertaining as the song. If your a fan of Randy Bachman, buy this now! I never regreted buy this, or the DVD of the same concert, because it is just so amazing.

5 out of 5 stars very good cd.......2006-03-24

I used to be a DJ at my small college's radio station. I have to say, it was soon after I started, I came across the cd. I played the song "murder" and I have to say I was hooked. The cd is amazing. I would play that song every show I had and later would start playing "pedestrian" and others. I have to say that the songs are good and have a nice beat to them, but it is mellow and a good listen. It is very good just to sit back and listen and relax. I give the album, 5 stars, I would reccomend it to everyone who likes electric/acoustic music. This is a must have.

      4 out of 5 stars solid effort.......2004-09-22

Drinking with a girl should be in everyones jukebox. An upbeat elliott smith but not as hip hoppy as J MRAZ . I saw him open for j mraz last year in Santa Barbaa and really enjoyed him. You need to see him live than the cd will just knock your scoks off.

5 out of 5 stars Debut of a rising star........2004-09-19

I bought this CD last night after hearing Chacon play live at The Bluebird Cafe, where he electrified the crowd with a mixture of lyrical depth, vocal talent, and stage presence.

I defy you to listen to "Murder" and be unmoved by the raw honesty of the vocals, to say nothing of the haunting guitar chords and lyrics that belie their author's youth. This emotional intensity permeates the album, especially tracks like "I Want To," "Drinking With a Girl," and the incomparable "Walking Through the Day," a song that sounds wholly different (and equally beautiful) acoustically.

If we are lucky, this will be but the first taste of what Chacon has to offer.

4 out of 5 stars Great, but with a warning.......1999-12-17

I just bought this Cd, and I must say that it is a phenominal collection of "magic" songs from my childhood....mostly. I feel that I must warn all that "American Pie" is ony a four minute exerpt, and that "Jealous Guy" is not Lennon's version., but a cover. We (being my roomate and myself) feel that cutting "American Pie" is a sin, but besides that, a great collection :)
