Cd1 Includes Studio Tracks from their Earliest Releases on Australia's Au Go Go Label as Well as Material Released Only in the UK. Cd2 features 16 Never Before Released Live Tracks from Three Periods in the Band's Career Sydney 1982, Melbourne 1984 and London 1985.

My favourite band. Includes 'Thirsty's Calling', the only perfect album I've ever heard.

What 'Grunge' Meant Back Then.......2004-05-17

When I was a young lad in Sydney, Australia, back in the early 1980s this was the kind of sound that people referred to as 'Grunge'. Played to black clad Art House college students that inhabited small pubs (bars) and stood around looking way to cool. Something like Kerouac's beat era 'furtives'. They were on to something interesting and they didn't care to tell YOU about it. Silly really. Decidedly Post punk for sure. Minimum movement, maximum impact. This double CD is a superb showcase of the dark riffing and thudding sound of the Moodists, growling bass, topped by the obscure Eraserhead prose of the singer, Dave Graney.
If you like the sounds on this CD check out other equally talented, in a non-FM way, Australian bands of the era like The Scientists, Died Pretty, Laughing Clowns , The Triffids to name but a few.
