GUTTURAL is a current group of power heavy-metal founded in the year 2000 in the western suburbs of Paris. Their founder and leading member Ludovic Van LIERDE is all but a beginner: he has been building up his art since 1985 ! The main ambition of this band is to share its unique concept, called "Heraldic Power Metal" with as many fans as possible. After the release of a demo the following year, the trio felt ready to record its first album "Set Swords To Music" (2003). This was quickly released on the Brennus label. After his fellow passengers left, Ludovic Van LIERDE completed the line-up, in particular by recruiting the dynamic and much involved drummer Eric MARTINS-GUERRA whom he met a few years before within NIGHTREAPER. No doubt to say, GUTTURAL definitely stands among the bands with which the future will have to deal with.
