I wasn't expecting to have 4 discs for this price, and the music is a quality selection of film music, giving a good scope of the genre, and a very listenable transfer.

For the price, this CD is a great bargain. The musical selections, as you might expect, are mixed in quality ranging from extraordinary to so so, the balance being worthwhile and interesting. Sonically the CD is excellent.

I have been listening to great scores for many years and this collection is truly inspirational in so far as the choice of different scores takes you on a journey of listening pleasure matched by only a few collections.The price is incredibly reasonable for hours of listening pleasure. A decent debut by Juicy J. Most of the songs are decent, but not all of them. Juicy J gots a pretty good flow, his lyrics aint nothing great. The production on this album are pretty good, they fit Juicy's style well. I would only recommend this album for the true TSM fan.

this cd is alright, it is nothing classic, but it a solid relase from the north north representer juicy j. He has a couple of guest apperance in it, includeing project pat, and three six mafia. If your a big three six mafia fan go out and get this dope rapper.

Juicy J's solo release from the Three 6 Mafia showed how important he is to their success with this lp. The original version of "Like A Pimp" is found on here as the remake on Da Unbreakables. The song "Name It After Me" has one of those old school pimp type beats that should have been named Like A Pimp. "Mafia Niggaz" features the entire Mafia and Frayser Boy. Taken from Linkin Park, "Smoke Dat Weed" featuring Lord Infamous is an anthem for smokers, drinkers and popers. Chronicles contains three instrumentals that will keep you feening for some more. Juicy and his brother (Project Pat) teamed up to represent on "North, North Pt.2". Frayser Boy's flow featured on "Gimme Head" is quite impressive with Juicy J. There couldn't be a Three 6 presentation without "Who Da Buckest", that proves they are definately the crunkest of them all. Juicy's Chronicles is an almost classic and is necessary for Three 6 Mafia fans.

True Three Six Mafia.......2004-12-16

The album "Chronicles of the juice Maine" is a re-relese of Juicy J's undaground album from back in the day. The only orginal track is the "Soldiers from tha North side". Tracks such as "Buck Gangsta Beat", "Gimme Sum", and "Who Da Buckest" represent true Memphis undaground rap. "Like A Pimp" was a radio hit before the album was released even though the song is mediocre. My people and I rate an album by the number of bumpin tracks on a cd compared to the actual number of tracks. This one has eight bumpin junts out of 14 tracks. It's pretty good and a must have if you like to get krunk

Best Piano Work Yet.......2001-03-14

As far as the comparisons the other reviewers made, I must admit I dont own Preludes to a Century, but I do own Heritage Suite, Country Airs, and the Piano Album, all of which are acoustic piano works. I consider Chronicles of Man to be by far the best. The melodies are excellent, and it honestly seems very inspired. I liked many things from the other piano albums, but I think this album shows Rick at his best in both composition and execution (at least as far as piano music goes). My favorite tracks are The Siege, The Abbey Garden, The Ruin, and The Monastery. I bought the CD because I fell in love with the melody and chord progression of The Abbey Garden from a soundclip. An excellent piano album, as I would expect from Rick.

This album is exclusively performed on the piano, but unlike many of Rick's other piano collections, this disc demonstrates his versatility in inspiration and performing.

Even though the music is relaxing, melodies range in style: from the almost classical "The Chapel By Candlelight" to the perkier "Jesters At Court". The tracks are different enough that you don't get the feeling it's 13 identical songs with different titles.

I preferred this album to its predecessor, "Preludes To A Century", probably because the melodies are more versatile.

If you play it loud enough, you can almost hear the waves crashing on the shores of the island...

Passionate, Inspired, Heritage Suite II??.......2000-12-30

I must agree with Kevin's review of this release. It sounds as if Rick's heart is really into this one! To those that have Heritage suite, this one could be a companion disc, perhaps just a little less intense. Far superior to Preludes to a Century, which is still a nice CD. I highly recommend this CD to anyone that LOVES a well done piano CD. Perhaps I should have rated it 4 1/2 stars....

Rick is getting too repetitive.......2000-08-23

This new cd is quite the same thing as Wakeman's most recent cd called Preludes to a century, which is a fine record: with just Rick and his grand piano, no more. Although I am a big Wakeman fan, he is getting too repetitive. With all the respect this great master deserves: too much records means less quality. Chronicles of Man is a fine cd but if you already own Preludes, you will find nothing new composition-wise. The execution is excellent but the songs are nothing really great.
