Editorial Reviews
The Wizards From Kansas' eponymous album finds this Midwestern group sounding more like a West Coast hybrid combining rambling, melancholy country-rock elements with harder psych-rock sounds. Their biggest influences seem to have been Northern California-based groups like the Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and the Grateful Dead, and it shouldn't really come as a shock to discover that the Wizards From Kansas was recorded in San Francisco, between July and August of 1970. Radioactive. 2003.

What Wonderful Music.......2003-09-13
The guitar work is equal to the Dead's easily. It fits and always seems right. SLightly psychedelic and always perfect. This music could easily turn into a long Dead jam at any second.
I listened to this CD on a ride through the Great Smokey mountain national park, and was always confused. You see, at first it was Songs #1, 4, and 8 that hit me best, but on the second play it was 2, 5, and 9! Then it occured to me, this CD is good all the way through. You dont need favorites here.
Incidently, this CD is very much like Fever Tree. You may wish to check them out. Im sure many will remember "San Francisco Girl (Return of the Native) From a long time ago. Both these CD's bring back the old days quite well.
