About the Artist
Debris’s debut release entitled, "anonymity" brings to the forefront of your attention the call to refocus on the world around you, a world, which offers a great deal of concern in its demand for you to fall in line with the uninformed thinking of everyone else. In the featured song, "Totalitarian State," this message is brought to light with the linkage of how our own government and corporate America are striving to take away our personal freedoms like others have done in the past. If we’re not careful we’ll all become a part of their "faceless society", one where everyone conforms to the popular trends instead of embracing our differences and thinking for ourselves.

The struggle for these personal freedoms and what makes us who we are begins at home. In the song "Bless my sin." Sin is used as a metaphor to represent the things we do that hurt or disappoint our loved ones while the blessing symbolizes the acceptance and forgiveness we desperately crave. This song really illustrates that the choices we make early on and over the years with our families and relationships helps to anchor the support system we need. This foundation is vital because in "Ajna" we are reminded that ignorance, oppression, prejudice and fear in our society come from the people who lack an open mind. "If you open your eyes your mind will follow".

Debris’s challenge musically as well as intellectually while complex is straight forward. Provoke the world and make a difference for yourself and others or accept it as it is and live in anonymity. The choice is up to you!

Product Description
Debris emerged from the innermost twisted regions of its creator’s mind to harness strength for its physical arrival. Kiel, its creative force, began with a vision of music that could meld the untapped raw power and energy of "metal," the precision and pulse of "techno," and the elegance and beauty of "classical" composition. He spawned a whirlwind of aggression and lust that, when experienced, evokes every palpable emotion and invades into the further most regions of the human psyche.

5 out of 5 stars Blew my mind.......2006-10-10

One of the band members comes to my coffee shop and dropped a copy off for me. Holy hell they rock! I've been listening to this cd non stop at work and can't get enough of it. A good buy for anyone who wants to rock all day

5 out of 5 stars Debris Rocks!.......2006-03-17

I'm not usually a fan of this type of music, but I met a member of the Debris through circumstances unrelated to the band and promised him I'd listedn to their music. I did, and I'm totally hooked! Awesome lyrics, awesome, vocals, and especially awesome bass guitar. I've never liked all that screaming and stuff in music, but Kiel doesn't yell all the time. He actually sings too, and he does it well...which is a nice change from some of the crap that's out there. I love it!

5 out of 5 stars misinformation.......2006-01-03

Thank you Mr. Newman for being thoroughly misinformed on the intent of Debris' music. Kiel Bishoprick is an incredible talent in metal as well as classical and rock music. I would like to see the interview in which he states that he uses his pipes and demons to sing. Debris is a band that strives to get people to think for themselves and are in no way devil worshipers. Their myspace site is fully functional and have a new lineup of incredible musicians that are dedicated to shattering perceptions of what a particular genre of music should sound like. As far as the lyrics go, check out the myspace site for some to read for yourself. the songs come from a personal place, but at the same time hold something for everyone that lives in this age.
Never accept the status quo.........question everything and then you will see.
Anonymity is an album that anyone that loves rock, metal, break beat, techno, etc. should have in their collection!! Stay tuned for the next album soon.......................

4 out of 5 stars a good nu-metal/industrial hybrid.......2005-04-26

I heard about this band on myspace.com. They seemed okay enough (basic nu-metal with a hint of industrial), so I went and bought their only album off here.

That's where my problems start. I'm an avid lover of all styles of metal; black, death, folk, speed, etc. But I always draw the line at bands that worship demons or the devil. I've done reseach on Debris (and listened to the cd completly with headphones), and this is what I've found:

1. Lead vocalist and mastermind Kiel Bishoprick was quoted in an interview stating he uses his pipes and demons to sing.

2. In the thanks section of the cd booklet, the lead singer thanks 'evil for helping me find peace with the beast'

3. Their are no lyrics included, leaving you to guess what is being said (most songs are sung fast and deathmetal style), and the clean vocals are hard to understand at times too. The clean vocals sound like a cross between Backstreet Boys and Geedy Lee from Rush, the hardcore vocals sound similar to that of Ryan Clark from Demon Hunter, and I also sense a little of Jonathan Davis' style of rapping/yelling.

4. The cd is actually 66 tracks long (13-64 are silence), could it be they wanted it to be 666 tracks long? I dunno.

5. I could be mistaken, but I think there's a part of track 65 that's quietly sung backwards, which I've heard is a form of demonic worship. I need to listen again with headphones...

I dunno. Don't take this review the wrong way, I'm just wondering if these guys were satanists. The biggest thing that galls me is the lack of lyrics; I like to know what's being sung/growled/screamed. Good luck finding anything out about them now, their website has been down for weeks, their page on myspace is gone, and amazon is the only site that seems to carry their cd.

To review their actual musical talent, this is not a bad start for what could be the next big thing in nu-metal/industrial hybrids. Good guitars, good bass, not bad vocals (but could be better). Crappy sounding drums however; they don't fit with this style of metal. But that's what second albums are for...

5 out of 5 stars Perfect.......2004-11-16

One of the best metal albums ever period. A perfect metal album, Needs to be part of everyones metal and rock collection.
If you like to hear muscians and not just growls and scream, these guys are it and should be the next big thing in metal. 6 Out 5 stars.
