Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great CD from start to finish.......2006-12-01

Great songwriting and wonderful vocals were what Az Yet were all about. I don't know why more songs besides Last Night and Hard To Say I'm Sorry weren't released as singles. Secrets and End Of The Story are 2 other top notch songs on this CD which has stood the test of time thanks in part to Babyface's input. Every Little Bit Of My Heart has corny lyrics and is probably the weakest song but it is still decent.

Note to all: The version of Hard To Say I'm Sorry on this CD is the acapella version which is good but DOES NOT have the Peter Cetera vocal on it. That version, I believe is a CD single.

Unfortunately, the group split up and now there are 2 Az Yets: one with Daryl and 3 new members and another with the remaining original vocalists. The lineup with Daryl has a decent EP out, but it pales in comparasion with this debut CD.

3 out of 5 stars WHY THIS GROUP DIDN'T LAST LONG? NO ORIGINALITY.......2006-11-06

This group came out on the scene ten years ago, around this time. When the single "Last Night" was played on the airwaves, everyone thought they were Boys II Men, at least I did. I think that's why the group did not last long. Don't get me wrong, these guys can sing, but for the life of me, I could not understand why Babyface would want to produce a group that, he knew darn well, they were going to be compare to other boy groups(one he had already established) with the same type of singing style and look.

AZ Yet, was no different from all these other R&B singing boy groups that came in a dime of dozen in the early/mid 90s and pretty much came and went. Neither of these groups, had any originality none what so ever, they all copied from each other using the same styles. Just look at the videos back then (even now), you couldn't tell which group was which.
AZ Yet, just like all the others, were only good for one album (CD),
a one hit wonder, which is the kiss of death for any group or artist sounding like some one else. But, I have to admit "Last Night" was a good love making song.

5 out of 5 stars Impressive debut....Unfortunate they broke up........2006-09-08

Az Yet was, and still is, one of the smoothest sounding group in R&B. Yes, they created a hit with "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", and even made an impressive duet with the original, Peter Cetera. Although I liked that song, and "Last Night" from the Nutty Professor soundtrack, many of the other tracks also enticed me. Babyface was a key player for much of the production of the songs, however Az Yet also wrote, produced and handled the arrangement for most songs as well. Shawn, Dion, Kenneth, Darryl and Marc soon disbanded after their first album, and I'm not really sure why. I wasn't too impressed with Marc Nelson's solo CD after the break up, and Shawn's was ok, but what about the others? It's very unfortunate that they parted at such an exciting time in their career. My favourites included: Last Night, Care For Me, Every Little Bit of My Heart, Hard to Say I'm Sorry, Secrets, Through my Heart, I Don't Want To Be Lonely, and Inseperable Lovers. Most songs are mid-tempo, so get this CD and pop it into your player on a nice, rainy evening. Light the candles, then treat your women to a spectacular evening. :)

5 out of 5 stars Cover Of Chicago's "Hard To Say I'm Sorry".......2005-05-22

Az Yet has a cover of Chicago's "Hard To Say I Am Sorry", with Peter Cetera, to be copied in the voice of 1982.

5 out of 5 stars Great Album!!!!.......2005-02-10

I am really suprised that these guys did not hit it big and stay there....this is a great album...not too many slow songs..but the ones that are on the album are beautiful...

      Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars sappy love songs.......2006-09-14

The compositions, Rhythms and singin-style of Peter Cetera sound always the same. He is a typical sappy love song - singer who prefers the love ballads and cheesy love adventures.
it might have been a bit tedious and boring.

The problem is everywhere: If you are a Hardrock fan like bands Uriah Heep, Stevie Ray Vaughan, AC/DC, Rory Gallagher, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, your ears can't be familar with all these silly love songs. My ears cannot work like that.

      there are two alternatives:
      - if you are a hardrock fan. You like a mythological lyrics, you won't like Peter Cetera or Chicago. Keep your fingers away from this !!!
      - if you are a sappy love song fan then please buy this cd !!!

5 out of 5 stars As a huge Peter Cetera fan, one could hardly fault this;.......2006-07-14

These songs are instantly recognisable, be it in a different format. This, however, does not detract from the quality or enjoyment of each song. In fact, dare I say it, better than the original recordings!
      Not to be missed!

      5 out of 5 stars marvelous CD.......2005-10-19

Yes, this CD is a marvelous truly jewel.
Buy it. It worth till the last penny.

5 out of 5 stars The best fan of Peter Cetera.......2002-02-28

Peter Cetera is absolutely the best singer of the world.

4 out of 5 stars Good old stuff, good new stuff.......2000-10-12

This CD is basically a compillation of old and new. The new version of "You're the Inspiration" is great. A little too twangy, though. Peter C. trying to sound country? I thought he was from Chicago. The new "Baby, What a Big Surprise" is also good, but only if you're open to a country-type sound.

I was excited for the new versions of these two songs because I thought they would be very similar to their original Chicago recordings. This is not the case, but the new versions grew on me and I dig them. There are a couple more new tracks that are classic Peter C. All in all, this CD is a good buy.

4 out of 5 stars Revamped Az Yet.......2006-05-21

The first Az Yet album was an inpeccable masterpiece. From the smooth vocals to Babyface's great writing. It is the number one CD in my collection.

Az Yet has been reformed by original member Darryl. The members themselves have taken over the writing and they sound great.

I can understand some fans being disappointed in there being only one original member left in the group, but you can judge for yourselves the song samples on the Az Yet MySpace page and official site. The harmonies are still tight and the songs are great R&B/Hip Hop jams.

3 out of 5 stars Az Yet? No chance!.......2005-03-31

When I heard Az Yet were back, I couldn't believe it. I loved their self-titled first album, had all the makings of a superb R&B album. Tight production, nice slow jams, nice upbeat R&B songs, and a smash hit (Last Night).

When I bought this EP, I looked on the album and saw the groups names. I did a check on the first album, and found that only 1 original member is still in the group. The other 3 are new.
This really disappointed me. How can they call this Az Yet, when only 20% of the original group is here? Sure there are some good songs on this EP, and if you like R&B, then be sure to get the album when it drops. But for all you AZ Yet fans, be warned: 1 original member = nothing like original sound!!
