This has got to be one of the most incredible musical presentations that I've ever experienced. These two groups together in concert effect more joy, sorrow, remorse, nostalgia, victory, hope and power in 30 minutes that most of us experience in years. Amazing!

With the incredible proliferation of rock, and now rap music, this album is a great example of what music can me - simply beautiful. The MTC is, as always, splendid, and the Vocal Majority is truly wonderful. This a great album of sacred and secular songs, beautifully performed, and a genuine pleasure to hear.

This CD features two renowned groups in some of their best work. The MTC, of course [of chorus], is known around the world. Vocal Majority is less global in its familiarity but equal in its skill. For my part, I prefer the sound of an all-male ensemble. This is not to gainsay the MTC, however: only a preference. If you want to hear two great groups performing a popular array of songs, this choice will not disappoint.

Arguably "The Best" English "Merry Widow ".......2006-09-12

This is the "Merry Widow" with English translation by Christopher Hassel sung by June Bronhill. I loved this rendition ever since I first heard it in about 1960. What's to love? First the translation is the best I've heard. The language doesn't sound "stilted" as some others. And, you can understand almost every word sung. Plus, the famous song, "Vilja" has some wording that moves me every time I hear it: The soprano sings, "Love me and I'll DIE for you!" with the word "die" somewhat emphasized. I don't know, there's just something "powerful" about someone saying they'd "die" for love! AND, at the end of "Vilja" the chorus and soprano raise to a crescendo hitting a high note together. In many renditions the chorus is heard but not the soprano on the final high note. In THIS version, the soprano, June Bronhill, can be heard rising to the final high note with an incressing crescendo and fortissimo louder than the chorus and holding the final high note---which gives a very thrilling effect as she holds that final note, I assure you!

The "problem" is that this June Bronhill, Reid, and Hassel version is hard to find on CD. For example, this CD is made in Holland and "there is one left" so it says on Amazon. But, if you can find it, I think it would be very much worth a listen. Then, after hearing it, if you think there's a "better" Merry Widow, please let ME know! Thanks. Email:boland7214@aol.

Utris is the one of the most talented bands around, and nobody knows. I have been listening to them for about three years now and I never get sick of them. They have a very unique sound going for them. Not to mention they are good old northern virginia boys. I urge people to listen to them now before they blow up. Passing me by, could easily be a big hit.

If you all think that this CD is unbelievanle, try getting ahold of their first CD. The one with the balls on the cover. Every song on the CD is great and Passing Me Bye is still my favorite song. If you like them a lot, their first CD is a must have!

I just got my Utris album, and I cant take it out of my stereo! The entire disk is infectious. Please keep up the good work Utris, you owe it to the world!

Finally, the void in good music due to the devolution of modern rock into a series of cookie-cutter garage bands has been filled by Utris. The Long Walk Home introduces a smooth complexity based on the historical standards of quality modern rock. The first time you listen to the album, songs like "Spain" and "A Message From the High Command" will have you bouncing off the walls from the full-throttle guitar work and hearty sound of youth-driven music. The second listen brings a fuller appreciation of the beauty of tracks like "Remain the Same" and "White Rust" which denote a profound intelligence. After the third listen The Long Walk Home will never leave your cd player again. My copy hasn't.
