THE SILENT AGONY is a Parisian band born after SYNOPTIA split-up. This is a member of the Epsilon collective, which is a real breeding ground for the French gothic metal stage (DYING TEARS, ANTHEMON, THE OLD DEAD TREE...). Very quickly, THE SILENT AGONY has distanced themselves from the whole gothic movement, including innovative elements such as samples, taken from other musical trends, within their music. Thus incorporating these various elements, the band’s style has evolved and become unique. Published in 2003 on the Thundering label, "Silence Of Insanity" shows up a depressive atmosphered-music, where the rage and despair of a sensible voice full of subtle touches reply to the power of riffs. The vocals travel between sensuality, emotion and aggressiveness. Definitely conceptual, the lyrics evoke oppressive or even unhealthy situations, and they try to express the more shameful thoughts of human unconscious. Not to be missed whatsoever.
