Editorial Reviews

Product Description
French keyboardist Frédéric TRUONG has been composing for about ten years under the name LEITMOTIV. His influences are both classic (Erik SATIE) and modern (Michael NYMAN, Pascal COMELADE…). Issued on the Gazul label, the mini-CD "Piano Solo" (2002) uncovers new compositions performed by the musician, alone with his black and white keys. The music is melancholic, evoking pictures and poems on escape, solitude, the coming night and the fear of forgetting. Decidedly different from his previous albums, "Peculia Del Camino" suggests a trip to the South in search of Arthur RIMBAUD's "Illuminations", and of the waking to the sea. This majestic acoustic works tries to express the contemplation of landscapes, of emotions lived on the Catalan roads, between Cadaques and Barcelona, the distance of two beings between summer and winter, the solitude of the wanderer... The muse Sophie TRUONG is present on a track, as is the voice of the main musician on "Le Bateau Ivre". We'll also notice the cover of a Véronique SANSON song. "Poésies Et Chansons" (2004) can be translated as "Poetry And Songs": one could find texts by Paul VERLAINE, Charles BAUDELAIRE, Jacques PREVERT or Arthur RIMBAUD, besides works by Jean-Loup DABADIE, Michel POLNAREFF... Or Frédéric TRUONG ! And don't forget to mention a surprising cover-version of KRAFTWERK's "Radio-Activity" ! The whole is reinterpreted in the artist's typical manner: quiet and romantic. Not to be missed !
