5 out of 5 stars STOP HATIN! THIS ALBUM IS HOT!.......2007-06-13

HOW CAN SOMEONE RATE A WHOLE ALBUM BASED ON HEARING SAMPLES!!! YOUR TALKING ABOUT WHERE IS HIS SKILLS, WHERE IS YOUR MONEY! BUY THE WHOLE ALBUM AND LISTEN TO IT, YOU CHEAP IDIOT!

Now, onto Marques! This album is by far one of the very best since Immature/IMx and MH! It shows how he is maturing and experiencing what men go through. Their sexual appetite. I think it's sexy and nothing different from any other R&B male that bares their body! (hint hint D'Angelo, Usher Pretty Ricky go see one concert!)

Anyway, my favorite on this album is Everything! It is one of the most meaningful songs since Please Don't Go and All Alone. This song he really goes all out trying to express how much he loves this girl, that with all honesty no matter if they broke up or not I am jealous over this! He said "Girl you make whole you are my sister soul", I love it! I have every album from Immature to Imx Greatest hits.

Marques was always the stand out and I'm glad he's getting all the fame and money because those dudes never really added anything to the group. Kelton/LDB don't even greet his fans or try to touch their hands. All ego and he can't even sing! LOL! I stood there and watched, him treat some girls like that, all I could think is, thank god that's not me!

I still dream of meeting Marques, and just telling him how much I appreciate him keeping his music alive. When I am down his voice is so comforting, he gives me something to think about even if it doesn't happen. I have Veteran his new album also, my favorite songs are Circle and Miss Being Your Man. They are all day repeat songs. Keep up the good work Marques and congrats on debuting #1 for Veteran! Enjoy the success!

1 out of 5 stars SINCE YOU'RE NAKED....YOU MAY WANT TO MODEL...........2007-02-27

Since you want to be naked....you may want to get into modeling cause you obviousaly are out of musical talent. I guess if you don'tl have a couple of little boy toy homies backing you up you really don't have much to offer. Jesus man each song sounds exactly like the other one...I really can't tell them apart. Wow he went from B2K to B2U(Being 2 Unorginally). Come on stop putting out CD's. I haven't seen this type of musical embarrassment since Ray Jay and even he has stopped so why don't you too. You like being naked and Ray Jay just put out a porn video with his ex, so maybe you two oversexed weirdos can come up with something.

2 out of 5 stars Fairly Good.......2006-08-27

Overall it is a fairly good album. Marques Houston has grown into a fine young man. I am just as old as Marques Houston so I can remember his Immature days. In my opinion, there are very few songs that are worth being listened to over and over and some that are not. The tracks that I like are as follows:

1-All because of You
2-Sex Wit You
3-Marriage
5-Naked
6-Do You Mind
11-Everything

1 out of 5 stars Omarion's Cheaper, Less Talented Alternative.......2006-05-24

Wow, I never thought I would've found an R&B album worse than Omarion's debut until I finished listening to this album's samples on Amazon. "Naked", Marques Houston's spohomore effort, is undoubtedly the worst R&B album I have ever heard in a long while.

I apoligize for sounding harsh, but think about it. Where's the talent? Where's the skill? What about the heart & soul? Where's the musical ambition? What about meaningful lyrics & nice beats? Where's his dignity? Where's hist artistic growth? I'm betting he threw all that & so much more out the window along with his tacky clothes. Marques, take this into account...YOU'RE NOT USHER AND YOU NEVER WILL BE, SO STOP TRYING!

I honestly tried really hard to force myself to like his song "All Because Of You", but I just couldn't convince myself to do it. There's not a single song on this entire album that has any true emotional depth. His other singles, "Naked" & "Sex Wit You" are absolutely pathetic attempts at explicit sexuality, with egomaniacle, ridicuously retarded videos to boot. As if the cheesy, sexual come-ons & emotionally devoid ballads were hard enough to bare, you have miserable club tunes to complain about here & there.

Marques Houston is a perfect example of why R&B goes downhills nowadays. Anybody with a slight fraction of a brain would be aware that he has no talent, and relies on his ugly mug & flabby gut to seek the attention of ditsy tween girls worldwide. Skip this album at ALL COSTS (AND I MEAN THAT LITERALLY)!

4 out of 5 stars Sensual, Seductive, Romantic.......2006-04-18

The way this guy sounds is so sexy. He knows What the Ladies want to hear. My favorite song on the album is "Naked". It is the ringtone for my cell phone.

5 out of 5 stars A Cd of Cover Songs!.......2005-10-07

In a market that is swamped with 'cover cd's' this is one of those that stand out! Randy Crawford delivers on this set! This is one of my favorite cd's by her!

She picked songs that haven't been overdone or haven't been remade at all and made them her own, the only misstep is 'Purple Rain' it's not bad but there wasn't anything Randy could bring to this song...

Another great thing about this cd is the fact that REAL musicians are used!! which makes this cd even more enjoyable! Well done Randy!!

5 out of 5 stars set the mood with Randy Crawford..........2005-06-06

Randy Crawford is a seasoned veteran and shows great promise through every recording she lends her voice to. With a mix of smooth jazz and soulful r&b vocals, Randy brings new life to modern classics. Naked and True is a superb collection of cover songs.

"Give Me the Night" is the standout track and received multi-format success at AC, jazz and r&b radio outlets. Randy Crawford transforms this George Benson classic into a song all her own. Also included on the CD is a remix of this song.

My favorite track on Naked and True is "Cajun Moon." Randy turns this J.J. Cale song into a smooth lament. Her vocals are mesmerizing and filled with emotion. She inspires fans to enjoy the journey that each track brings.

Also included are splendid reworkings of Prince's "Purple Rain," Joyce Sim's "Come into My Life," Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Nots," and Simply Red's "Holding Back the Years."

If you are looking for the perfect CD to set the mood for a romantic evening, look no futher. Naked and True is the CD for you.

4 out of 5 stars Irresistable.......2001-02-03

You gotta love Randy Crawford. She is a most unique and soulful vocalist. I think her version of "Give Me the Night (chill night mix)" is alone worth the price of the CD. That tune has been featured on smooth jazz radio. I even heard it recently in a cafe in St. Bart's. Her cover of "Forget Me Nots" is also fun to listen to. But, the real standout gem is her version of J.J. Cale's "Cajun Moon." This is a great song to begin with but, with Randy at the helm, it is simply irresistable.

5 out of 5 stars First time listener.......1999-11-30

Heard this cut, "Give me the night" on my way to work on the car radio. I immediately went to several stores trying to find it. I think its a great song, could possibly become a classic, if exposed enough. Purple rain, was not one of my favorites though.

3 out of 5 stars Solid, but ultimately disappointing despite her killer voice.......1999-02-04

I am one of those shadowy people who feels a shiver in the spine whenever Randy Crawford opens her mouth; even if she were ordering a cheeseburger or scolding her kids, I would probably want it in my CD collection. Having said this, I have my doubts about this album. There is too much pedestrian material here, and where the first track, 'Cajun Moon', is something special, there is little else of note in this collection of covers and rehashes. I longed for one of the songs to stretch her abilities and amazing sound, but of the rest, only 'Joy inside my tears' hold the interest. Please buy her 'Best of....' CD instead, though. Hers is truly the voice of the century - shame about the choice of material.

By the time Shabba released this sophomore Epic LP, his comedic sex machine persona was honed to perfection. From the opener, "Ting-a-ling"--a great uptempo dancehall jam--through the other 11 tracks, Xtra Naked lives up to its title with nonstop sex and microphone boasting. "Bedroom Bully" is fun, but, again, the duets with R&B artists, like "Slow and Sexy" with Johnny Gill, try too hard to cater to American tastes and come off as merely cheesy. Queen Latifah and Shabba in "What 'Cha Gonna Do?" seem to be voicing two different records. "Cocky Rim" is typically lewd, grimly so, with nary a hint of levitating wit. As for those over-the-top moans, groans, and "please don't stop's" in the background--puhlease, Shabba, puhlease! --Elena Oumano

With 7 top 10 dance singles (3 were number 1) under her belt, Amber returns with her explosive 2002 album Naked. It's packed with hits including the single, 'Yes' which was #1 on the Billboard Dance Single Chart. The album features a bonus remix from Thunderpuss of 'The Need To Be Naked'.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars YEAH! (or Yes!, whichever you prefer).......2005-12-14

I have been a fan of Amber ever since I first heard the now classic dance anthem "This Is Your Night," and when I heard that she would be coming out with another album I went crazy. "Naked" was released and I was ecstatic. With "Amber" (her self titled album) she experimented with her musical chemistry and it became evident with "Naked" that she had perfected it. "Naked" is an album filled with amazing songs that come at you one after another. The first single "The Need To Be Naked" is a heartfelt dance track that will leave you wanting more (both literally and figuratively as it's remix closes the album). Popular in her own right, Amber soon recieved further status as a star when this album blew up. To date this is her most popular album with both newbies and old fans alike. Here in Southern California, a radio station popped up and began playing her second single from this album "Yes" to amazing success. This was soon followed by "Anyway (Men Are From Mars)" which continued the album's appeal. The remaining songs are loveable, among which are the songs "Sex Without Sex" which speaks of that connection we all wish we had with a lover, one where sex isn't the only form of pleasure available, "If There Would Be No Tomorrow", a song which gives you a taste of her next album, and the romantic "Heavenly Proximity". Also of note is the remix of "Sexual", a mix perfect for lounging when stress is high. Buy this album and enjoy!

4 out of 5 stars You won't be disappointed. .......2005-09-05

I bought this CD just for the song YES. Most of the rest of the tracks are just as good, except for "The Smile of my Child." That one is just a bit freaky. The more upbeat version of "Sexual" is by far better, but this one works. "Anyway" is one of my favourite songs on the CD. And, "Dirty Thoughts" is very catchy. And, the "Need to be Naked" Thunderpuss mix is just AWESOME!!

Overall, this CD is great and is good for both Dance music fans and other types of music fans also.

5 out of 5 stars Amber's Best Work To Date!.......2005-04-06

I absolutely LOVE this album. I bought it in December of 2002 and I still listen to it (almost daily) now. The one thing that I love the most about this album is her experimentation with other genres without losing her dance/house roots (like Ce Ce Peniston made the mistake of doing). That brings me to a question I would like to pose to those who said that there isn't enough dance material. What if Naked was more dance-oriented? What if it was basically This Is Your Night part 3 (with Part 2 being her 1999 release)? Then the same lot of you who complained that it was too different that her previous two would complain that it was too similar to her previous two. Make up your mind. And, to be completely honest, the Berman Brothers (the producers of her first two albums) were Amber's blessing and her curse: they helped her become the revered dance diva that she is known as now, BUT they also set her up in such a manner that one only expects her to limit herself to dance material, which is WHY she bought back her contract from them in the first place, so that she can express more of herself. THIS is the real Amber right here. And we also have to remember that, if this music sounds too "adult", guess what? That's because she IS ONE! She's not some teenager, she is a grown woman. So cut her some slack.

4 out of 5 stars it's awesome!.......2004-12-24

i can't believe this album only got 2 and a half stars on allmusicguide.com..anyways i really liked this album even though it was kind of erotic.

1) Yes! - a good song to start off the album (10/10)
2) The Need to Be Naked - this song is pretty good, but I think the remix is better (8/10)
3) Anyway (Men are from Mars) - its an OK song. it explains the differences of men and women basically (7/10)
4) You're Sent From Heaven - i think this song's pretty lovely =) (8/10)
5) Dirty Thoughts - one of my favorites..i especially like the acoustic guitar in this song (9/10)
6) He - for some reason..i didn't like this one very much..especially the intro =/ (4/10)
7) Sex without Sex - its an awesome song, that's all there is to say =) (9/10)
8) Sex in the City - pretty pop-ish to me, but it's still decent (7/10)
9) Don't Say Goodbye - beautiful song. the piano makes it even more beautiful =) (8/10)
10) Heavenly Proximity - same as previous track, but i don't really like the vocals as much in this one (7.75/10)
11) If There Would Be No Tomorrow - it's got a good message (8/10)
12) Love On You - didn't like this one very much either (6/10)
13) Sexual (Li Da Di) (Afterlife Chillout Remix) - sexual is one of my favorite songs of all time, actually i like all the remixes. but i think this sounds really nice, and you could relax to it =) (10/10)
14) Smile of My Child - i think this is the worst song on this album..the la la la la sounded kinda freaky to me (3/10)
15) The Need To Be Naked - honestly, this is the best Thunderpuss remix i have ever heard. most of them have overpowering beats that wash out the vocals, but this ones perfect! its very energetic and you can definitely dance to it! (10/10)

3 out of 5 stars Naked, But Natural Talent Is Often Missing.......2004-11-04

Although not nearly as good as her most recent release My Kind of World, Amber's third album Naked has a style and attitude worth exploring. In general, the album is very laid back and modern. The most prominent characteristic of this album is the sensuality it emits. From the album cover to nearly half the songs, this is a passionate and lustful album with simple but powerful lyrics.

For the first time, Amber opens an album with a mood setting song, titled Yes. Radio stations made the mistake of not playing this song; it could have easily catapulted Amber to superstar status. There's a haunting quality about it; almost as if Amber herself is in a dream. Full of sweeping chords and syncopated backing rhythms, this song is one of my personal favorites of the album. (6/5)

The club hit The Need To Be Naked is the second track; this is the song that got me interested in Amber. Lyrically, there's nothing too innovative about this song. The lyrics are simple and easy to comprehend, and the title pretty much sums up the entire song. Needless to say, there's something special about this track that almost seduces you. Amber's breathy vocals in the chorus are a real tease, and I'm sure any male would love this song. (Personally, I think the Guido Osorio's Virgin Mix from the remix single of The Need To Be Naked is actually a better version than this one, although it's quite long) (5/5)

The third track Anyway (Men Are From Mars) is one of my favorites, and somehow in its simplicity you'll find yourself bobbing your head. It's a very cute track, almost melancholy in a way. The song is very catchy, and Amber does an excellent job of blending the vocal and instrumental arrangements for a complimenting effect. (5/5)

Though the fourth track You're Sent From Heaven is a beautiful song, I don't feel that Amber's vocal talent is best displayed here. There are moments of vocal greatness, but in general, she sounds slightly uncomfortable. Despite that, she still has the same conviction and emotion that you would expect from her when she sings. The end of this track is truly spectacular however, with a choir accompanying Amber on her ad-libbed vocals. (4/5)

Dirty Thoughts, the fifth track, is a song full of guilt, remorse and grief. Amber sounds much more at home here than on the previous track. The lyrics are beautifully written and the acoustic guitar arrangement is dazzling. This is probably the most heartfelt song on the album; the most sensitive song. The strings balance the ballad wonderfully. (5/5)

I applaud Amber for the sixth track He, although it feels somewhat out of place on such a sensual album. Quite simply, it's a song about God guiding her through her life. Such content brought criticism from many of her fans. Clearly, Amber took a risk including this song, however I admire her for it. As far as the musical arrangement of the song goes, it's a very well done dance number. With syncopated echoing keyboards and a jazzy baseline, Amber's vocals shine. (5/5)

The seventh track is yet another sensual anthem called Sex Without Sex. A tender and emotional song, the content could have easily been ruined had it not been written well. But Amber successfully took the idea of being totally in tune with someone's thoughts, feelings, wants and desires and transformed them it into a well written piece. She sounds whimsical in this tune, with very breathy vocals and an easy-going singing style. (5/5)

Love On You, the eighth track, is a little more innocent, but still a very sexy song. Lyrically, the verses are very generic and a little rugged when thrown together, although they still make plenty sense. Listening to this, especially if you have someone special next to you, you really will want to ditch work and `stay home for one day'. More laid back and slower than the previous track, there's plenty of lush chords backing Amber's once again breathy singing. (4/5)

The ninth track will remind older fans of Amber's previous work, and it's titled If There Would Be No Tomorrow. Going back to her more classic dance roots, Amber's vocals stand out in this song as the foundation of a very lively track. She has some fun with her singing, and the balance of strings and rock guitar make this one of the most memorable tracks on the album. This would have made a great single, however it was never remixed. (5/5)

At first listen, the tenth track Heavenly Proximity didn't have any special qualities. However, after listening to it several times, you begin to notice the delicate balance of the beautiful piano, strings, soft keyboard loops and deep bass that make this an inspiring song. In particular, the bridge portion of the song, which builds in volume and intensity, is gorgeous. Unfortunately, the musical descent after the buildup is a bit of a letdown, leaving the listener feeling a little incomplete. (5/5)

Although the title suggests another sensual tune, track eleven, Sex In the City, is a disco dance fest in which Amber vents about the stresses of constant changing relationships. Personally, this song doesn't appeal to me as much as the first two tracks of the album do, but it is very catchy and you'll find yourself humming it for hours. With surprising drum hits and many different types of percussion, this is primarily a drum loop song. The brass in the chorus is refreshing to hear. (4/5)

On track twelve, titled Don't Say Goodbye, Amber puts all her efforts into singing a beautiful slow ballad. As with previous slow tunes, while she never lacks for emotion, she just doesn't sound her best here. The song is still beautiful, with very intense chords and simple but heartfelt lyrics. While it's not one of her finest moments, it's still a very well done song. (3/5)

Track thirteen is the Sexual Afterlife Chillout Remix. This remix was the first version of Sexual I had ever heard, and it's a great warm version; initially I couldn't tell it was a remix. After hearing the original dance version of the song, I still don't prefer one or the other. This remix is very slow and subdued, with no percussion except a light hand drum loop. The lyrics flow smoothly with the sweeping keyboard effects; this song reminds me of something you might hear in an expensive massage parlor. (5/5)

Track fourteen, which is the last official song of the album, titled The Smile of My Child, is very cute in it's own way. Unfortunately, it doesn't sum up the album well, and it sounds like a song from a Broadway stage play. The song itself is nice, with all its live strings and glockenspiel toward the end; the child singing in the beginning and the end (I think it's actually Amber's son) is rather cute as well. The concept of the song is a sweet one and it's very heartfelt, but again, it's one of those songs that doesn't seem to fit with either Amber's voice or the rest of the album. (3/5)

The Thunderpuss remix of The Need To Be Naked is the fifteenth track, and it's a good thing she threw this in at the end, otherwise the album would not have been concluded well. As with all Thunderpuss remixes, it's very danceable, lively and full of impact. (5/5)

After hearing Amber's more recent work, you may notice that she sounds almost muted or timid in many of the songs included on this album. There are many great songs here, but too many experimental tracks that didn't allow Amber to show her true talent. In my opinion, the best songs on Naked are Yes, The Need To Be Naked, Anyway, He, Sex Without Sex and the Sexual remix. I suggest purchasing the remix singles for Yes, The Need To Be Naked and Anyway (Men Are From Mars), as they all have at least one great remix on them. And more than anything, I recommend Amber's newest release, My Kind of World; it's her best work yet!

I loved this CD. Terisa Griffen has a very wonderful voice and I don't know why she is not more widely known. In Detroit, there is one radio station that plays her song, "Anymore", but they never say who it is. I heard it about four times before a friend of mine went online while it was playing on the radio and found out who it was. I immediately went on the internet to find the album and purchased it. I have no regrets.

This cd gives you just a little bit of every thing. I have enjoyed it so much after hearing the "Song Bird" cd I had to get this one. Pure enjoyment is all I can say, and the Ms. Griffin's live show is even better! I'm ready for the next cd!

2 out of 5 stars a deep disappointment.............2001-10-10

Being myself a big fan and lover of the sexy naked stylish sounds, I was - of course - looking forward to this Remix-Album of the 1999 release "What's on your mind"... but when I first listened to it, I was deeply disappointed... Reconstructed Soul proves why the "Naked People" (Jay Denes, Dave Boonshoft and Bruno Ybarra) definitely had to leave OM Records and build up a label of their own.. There is no concept in this album.. The tracklisting is terrible - it begins without feeling and continues changing from groovy house to downtempo and back.. 4 out of the 11 tracks are original versions from the '99 album.. another 3 tracks are Remixes that were available on the records.. and they remain the best ones on this album..

In the booklet you can read: "a collection of of the finest sultry/sexy dance music - the ultimate audio aphrodisiac" ..I wonder where the aphrodisiac has been.. Sorry, but Om should continue to release the "OM Lounge" and "Mushroom Jazz" -stuff, which are great, but let the Naked-People do the Naked Sounds !!!

5 out of 5 stars Remixalicious.......2001-09-26

It's hard to revise a classic. Nevertheless, that is exactly what has been done to 1998's "What's On Your Mind" (Om Records) that started the Naked Music phenomenon. "Reconstructed Soul" compiled tracks from the 1998 original as well as past and present deep house mixes. Om comes correct with some powerful production from Kaskade, King Kooba, and newcomer Gabriel Rene of Soulstice. Building off the success of his "What I Say", Kaskade's signature soulful melodies and punchy bumpin' bass lines intertwine with the powerful hook of "If I Fall" to add a breath of fresh air to any listener's ears. The King Kooba crew comes through on a robotic electro limbo freestly, chopping up the vocal and pumping it back amidst a driving broken beat. On the cd, the mood shifts from unreleased downtempo tracks like "3 AM" and "Live Today" to beautiful soulful house remixes by Naked Music man Miguel Migs (aka Petalpusher), Wamdue, and Joshua (aka IZ). A collection of the finest sexy dance music, "Reconstructed Soul" is the ultimate audio aphrodisiac!

5 out of 5 stars I found what I've been looking for..........2007-01-25

This music sings to my SOUL! In a world full of cookie cutter, same-sounding music slickly produced and packaged to appeal to a generation of "video television" bred, apathetic, ADD afflicted sheep, it is a blessing to find that there is still music out there being made for those of us who still practice conscious thought.

5 out of 5 stars A Lot of People Don't Get It...........2005-03-25

A lot of people don't get it: this is not an album for you to "listen" to. Its an album to ---- to! Take a hint from the title, yeah?

In that light, the similar mood of the songs, the thick earthy vibe and the super-soulfulsensual vocals are actually perfect. It creates a constant mood over the full time frame of the CD, so you can simply escape to a world of raw unbridled sensuality. Taken individually only one or two of these songs are 5-stars. As a body of work - an album - they hold together impeccably and create the desired effect. You cannot assess them as "singles". That doesn't seem to have been the objective here. By the way the production is crisp and top-notch on every single track. You feel like you could have been in the studio with them, the sound has that much presense and life.

None of what I'm saying is rocket science. Jay Denes, (the creator of this album) has said as much in a couple of interviews as to what his objective was in creating it. If you open up the liner notes and read them, Jay Denes' dedication notes include a quote of Catherine Russell(one of the singers): "oh I understand, its a ---- record. OK, roll the tape". Hmmm...Does this have to be spelled out any more?

Jay Denes used a top notch crew of NYC funkateers, including Mark Anthony Jones (thefunkiestmanalive) on guitar, and Jonathan Maron (way, way underrated bass player from the Groove Collective). Bob Power (engineer/producer on Stetsasonic and De La Soul's classic album) appears here on guitat. Flutist Richard Worth of Groove Collective also appears on "Its love".

The singers (Ada Dyer and Catherine Russell) are not famous - but damn they SHOULD be. They give a master class here in deep soul singing. Not for them the rabid histrionics of Christina Aguilera Mariah Carey and a million misguided "Idol" contestants all over the world, but REAL modern soul singing, in CONTROLLED voice. if this were the 60's and not the MTV age, I suspect these women would be up there in fame with the Betty Wrights and Shirley Jones's.

I think they all did a perfect job. Lets put it this way: I had a lot of success putting this thing on random + auto repeat on my CD player when "friends" of the opposite sex came by! :-)

5 out of 5 stars sad never felt so good.......2002-02-02

True, the songs do sound a bit like one another, but maybe that's why I press 'repeat' and listen to it for hours. One guy pretty much wrote all the songs and did the programming. The songs are simple in their structure but not in their feeling or in their incomparable delivery. The two ladies who alternate on the tracks sing with that certain je-ne-sais-quois that only the soulfulest people have. This is one of those musical creations that make you realize to what extent the sensibility of the modern world as a whole has been shaped by afro-americans. These ladies sing not with their throats but with their wombs. A plangent - not to say bluesy - atmosphere pervades the whole Cd throughout...about love lost, hope remembered, ego surrendered, and peace attained. This music will speak to you if you've ever loved to the point of trembling with sadness. Music for real grown-ups, in other words.

4 out of 5 stars Gotta get this one.......2002-01-27

It's what birth should have been like. Sexy was poured generously into this compilation. Not too even but enough to get you in the mood and keep you there. Life should be this simple.

3 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars.......2001-12-10

The Naked Music series is hot in general, but this installation is weak. The beats hit a little hard on the R&B side with toogreat of a vocal presence. Pick up Naked Music Nude Dimesions Vol 1 instead.

5 out of 5 stars Doom Metal.......2004-05-28

I would say that Enchantment fall into the doom/death metal category. The album reminds me of early Anathema's Crestfallen/Serenades albums. Melodic and heavy, some thrashy parts and aggressive drums.

4 out of 5 stars Melodic doom-death for fans of Paradise Lost.......1999-06-29

Well, ignore the other review for "Dance the Marble Naked" as the person who posted it was referring to a different group. THIS Enchantment is a doom metal band. Paul's vocals would be the weak-link in my opinion, but overall this is a worthy addition to your doom metal collection.

5 out of 5 stars Enchantment's class and style remain supreme!!!.......1999-06-12

Enchantment has the sound that will mesmerize you whether it is one of their love songs or the great disco beats. Few groups can boast that they have the voice quality in all ranges that Enchantment has. EJ Johnson's lead and Mickey Clanton's bass are the foundation that keep Enchantment one of the best vocal groups of all time. They remain together and just get better with time. Don't miss this CD and be sure to catch their act if they are in your area!! Great singing and entertaining performers!!
