Product Description
Instrumental Surf Music, featuring Surf Bands from All over the world.
There are some nontraditional tunes on here as well from bands more "instrumental" than surf and they are also quite good.
The So. Cal. bands are what you would expect: brilliant. This is, after all, their heritage. THE VANDURAS (Los Angeles) turn in a mellow south pacific night on the beach number as do THE BLUE HAWAIIANS (also Los Angeles and also the on the same label). One of THE VANDURAS duo is from THE BLUE HAWIIANS, but the tunes are quite distinct. Then there is JETPACK (again, Los Angeles and again the same record label-Pascal Records) with the most traditional mirror ball, slow dance, guitar instrumental you could hope for. Note: THE BLUE HAWIIANS and JETPACK are prominently featured on the Sharper Image store's cd simply titled SURF MUSIC. Check that out too! That's what led me to this cd.
Don't worry, there is a non-Pascal Record band or two worth note as well, like CHUM (Orange County-That's the O.C. to most of you I suppose...).
This is a well rounded compilation with big talent and all original songs.
