After the success of From Under the Cork Tree, Fall Out Boy earned the right to indulge their whims. Fortunately, their instincts tend to serve them well (not counting those infamous cell-phone photos). On their most adventurous album, Def Jam prez Jay-Z introduces "Thriller," while Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds produces groove-heavy hit "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" and "Thnks fr th Mmrs." A few new flourishes aside, however, like guitarist Joe Trohman's Metallica moves on "Thriller," the Chicago-bred band remains true to their punk-pop roots, even if vocalist Patrick Stump sounds like Mr. Sexyback on "This Ain't a Scene" and "I'm like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me + You)." You can thank bass player/songwriter Pete Wentz for the unwieldy song titles. As he explains in "Fame < Infamy," "I am God's gift / Why would he bless me with such wit without a conscience." Whether spicing up their recipe with R&B swagger or playing it straight, FOB are at their best when they crank up the volume. Hence, the piano-based "Golden" is the weakest track on an otherwise solid outing. Hey, maybe they just wanted to see what a stadium looks like bathed in the glow of a thousand lighters. Taking its title from a letter Vincent Van Gogh sent to his brother Theo ("Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high"), Fall Out Boy's fourth seems likely to follow its predecessor into the platinum stratosphere. --Kathleen C. To Infinity and Beyond.......2007-07-10
They also come up with hooks a-plenty. The slapping drum and bass that kicks "The Take Over The Breaks Over" is irresistible. The hit "This Ain't A Scene It's An Arms Race" will have you football cheering and stamping your feet in no time flat. There are so many memorable moments on this CD that pointing them out is beyond the point...they just craft themselves elegantly into each song. The Choir in "You're Breaking But You're No Wave" is probably my personal favorite.
Be that as it may, there are times when the band teeters close to smart-aleky. Especially the unwieldy song titles and frequent self-referencing. There is a touch of the clever-clever here that makes me wonder if the band can transcend "being poster boys for the scene" (as they sing in "Thriller") in the way My Chemical Romance did on "The Black Parade." But for the 14 catchy rocking tunes on "Infinity On High," Fall Out Boy show that they are hungry for more.
Besides, any band that can work both The Simpsons and Vincent VanGogh into their overall view is OK by me.

Sellouts?....No. Dissapeared off the radar?....uh no. Follow up to a great debut?....Yes!.......2007-07-03
Anyway. Great hooks, Great melodies, Great lyrics (which don't really have a "plot" or "story" to 'em, but hey who cares!). One million out of ten. And will ALWAYS be in my top 3 albums ever.
FOB RULZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111.......2007-06-18
Now, press repeat!!.......2007-06-17
Opening with an introduction from Jay Z (yes) as well as on outro, opening cut "Thriller" is an energetic number with machine gun-like guitars.
"The take over, the break's over" is a catchy upbeat song, while lead off single (and US & UK #2 hit) "This aint a scene, it's an arms race" - one of those rare FOB cuts to feature the song title in the song - shifts tempo from plodding to frenetic. It is produced by Babyface, as is "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" (great jangly guitars).
Other standouts are the hand clap filled "Don't you know who I think I am", the more downtempo "I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)", "The (after) life of the party", "The carpal tunnel of love", the sing-a-long "Bang the doldrums" (which is remniscent in parts of The Smiths), and wickedly catchy "Fame infamy" which seems to race at the speed of light.
"You're Crashing, But You're No Wave" is a Killers/Franz Ferdinand-like rocker with lyrics telling the story of a court case. Brilliant!!
Lead singer Patrick Stump, has an earthy, soulful voice, sometimes remniscent of Terence Trent D'arby.
Like the voice says at the end of the disc, "Now, press repeat!"

High School Musical : The Songs.......2007-06-13
Did you like the High School Musical movie? If so, try the soundtrack! It's the same great songs, singers and fun. Every song (there is eleven) is the same as in the movie except now there is a chance for you to multi-task while enjoying the same singers from the film. Some include Mathew Gerrard, Ray Cham, Adam Watts, Faye Greenberg, Jamie Houston and Kevin Quinn. I really enjoy these songs because they describe what is going on in the movie. For example: when Troy is playing basketball (Get'cha Head in the Game), Ryan and Sharpay's callback song (Bop to the Top) or when Troy and Gabriella meet each other (Start of Some thing New).
I really enjoy these songs. I have memorized each and every one of them and sing along when I listen to this CD. Every song has a catchy tune, so soon, you'll be singing along too. With a High School Musical soundtrack, you can even sing along when you watch the movie. My favorite song is "When There was me and you". It is when Troy and Gabriella don't think they should go to callbacks. Just a little bit after this song they decide to go to callbacks.
I recommend this soundtrack for those who like the movie, High School Musical. The songs are a mix of upbeat, sad or just plain silly. Everyone will enjoy these just as much as they liked they movie. Those who haven't seen the movie will want to see it after listening to this soundtrack.

Disney's new magic?.......2007-07-18
Ever since it hit Disney Channel a year and a half ago, it simply became another part of culture, going from a movie-musical to a concert, rerealeased CDs, special-edition DVDs, T-shirts, a stage production, a summer sequel, and all the singers became instantly famous.
In my area a theatre school gathered teens from local high schools to professionally preform HSM, and the show literally was an enormous sellout, an audience filled with six-year-olds and sixteen-year-olds. But what is it about HSM that is different that any other musical? Yes, it was on TV and publicized, but isn't Disney the same company that produced The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Tony-Award Winning smashes? I am not afraid to admit that HSM could not stand up next to The Lion King's talent and beauty. Maybe it's just the magic of Disney to be able to pull off songs that were pretty much pop-rock cliches and glamourize not-exactly-Broadway-worthy preformers.
So, if HSM wasn't as stunning as other shows, why 4 stars and how did this HSM phenomenon really happen? The story was good, about teens finding their way and discovering that "we're all in this together". It exposed many children to the magic of musicals, and hopefully inspires them to listen to showtunes, too. It's simply a fun, easygoing show, a movie I can sit down and watch just for kicks any time and not have to go to a theatre to see, and something every kid can relate to.
The success of High School Musical may have also helped spawn shows like Hairspray and Footloose to travel to the screen so those who aren't theatre buffs can still go enjoy a good show without the hundred-dollar ticket price. It may not have the wow of Wicked or the brilliance of Rent, but in a way I don't think it was meant to. HSM carries it's own unique beauty, which is why I guess I really can't compare it to Wicked, Rent, and The Lion King. It has its own special...magic.
It may just be the start of something new for Disney.
OVERATED!!!!.......2007-07-05
O.K., But not exciting........2007-05-24
High School Musical.......2007-05-16
My top 3 are: Bop to the Top, I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, & Stick to the Status Quo.
Both versions of What I've Been Looking For are good yet Ryan & Sharpay's is better. I think that is because the song is faster.
The B5 Get'cha Head in the Game is not very good and the orignal is MUCH better.
While When There Was Me and You is very pretty and a good song it's kinda depressing and doesn't match the up-beat plot and music the rest of the movie has.
I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You is a very underated song. I for one liked it very much and its my 2nd favorite song in the movie.
Bop to the Top is my numero uno song of the CD. I like it alot and try to memorize the words.
Start of Something New is a nice song and fits in well but somehow doesn't excite me very much in the way my favorites do.
Breaking Free is a very pretty song. While I may not understand 100% why it is better than Bop to the Top I like it.
We're All in This Together is not very good at all. While it fits in where it is, it is just not very good.
Stick To the Status Quo is a very good song and is my #3 favorite on the CD. Sharpay and Ryan's part sticks in my head and I love it when Sharpays screams " Everybody quiet" yet the students continue to sing!
That is my opinion and I have included a few words on each song. Bottom line? BUY IT!!!!!

An Awesome Disney Effort.......2007-04-20
The Start OF Something New: This song is very pretty and it sort of symolizes the star of the movie saying that they meeting each other is the start of something new which it is.
Get Cha Head In The Game: This song is very up beat and energetic. It is about foccasing on what he should be doing [as his teamates think anyway].
What I've Been Looking For: This is very catchy and fun to dance to. In fact it has simple lyrics and dance moves that will keep you dancing and singing to it for days on end
What I've been looking for reprise: This is alot slower that the first version. But all the same it is very pretty.
Stick To The Status Quo: This one is good to dance to and I like one part in it [Sharpay: this is not what I want this is not what I planned and I just gotta say I do not understand somthing is really... Ryan: somethings not right. Sharpay: really wrong... Both: and we gotta get things back where they belong..] and [Gabriella: why is everybody staring at you. Taylor: not me you. Gabriella: because of the callbacks I can't have people staring at me I really can't] but overall it really annoys me nto the best.
When There Was Me and You: this one is very pretty and emotional in fact I can't describe it it is so good
Bop To The Top: this song is fun and easy to dance to you can also learn the movie dance on the DVD.
Breaking Free: This song shows the chemistry between Gabby and Troy very well it is also very catchy and fun
We're all in this together: This is fun and energetic it will stay in your head for days on end and you won't be able to get it out.
I Can't take my eyes off you: This is cool and kinda weird cuz Ryan and Sharpay sing it too.
this is a great CD and I RECOMEND IT [excuse the caps]

In 1976, when the Eagles, Peter Frampton, and Heart ruled the rock airwaves, along came five scruffy young men (the lead guitarist was maybe all of 18 and dressed in a schoolboy's uniform) from Australia playing some of the rowdiest, hardest, dirtiest rock of all time. Screaming "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)," singer Bon Scott teased like a braggart. Sensing the rock community's growing dissatisfaction with bloated, epic-scaled bands, AC/DC were indeed a high-voltage act: their drummer nailed the beat with fury, their bluesy guitar riffs mutated into something metallic and sharp-edged, and Scott's vocals took the shrillness of early Robert Plant to a leaner and meaner place. "Live Wire" is one of the most electrifying hard rock songs imaginable, "High Voltage" and "TNT" are the musical equivalent of touching exposed nerves with a rusty fork, and "Jack" proves that white rock dudes can, contrary to popular belief, get down. Whew! --Lorry FlemingAlbum Description

From The Land Down Under, they take it to the top!.......2007-07-11
"It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)": A five minute opener filled with plenty of crunchy riffs, an excellent performance by Bon, and even a bagpipe solo! (The Young brothers and Scott were from Scotland.) An awesome anthem that gets things off to a great start.
"Rock and Roll Singer": The riffs provide an excellent groove, one of AC/DC's finest, and Bon delivers lyrics about living the dream of being a rock star. Another great anthem!
"The Jack": One of AC/DC's most immortal songs. This is a six-minute, vintage-styled blues song with so many double-entendres, it's brilliant! The whole song flows excellently, and I get a kick out of the ending!
"Live Wire": According to the booklet inside the album, this song kicked off concerts for years in their early career, and one can see why. This is also the second-longest song on the album with an amazing guitar solo by Angus Young, prefiguring those of his future.
"TNT": Ha! Probably even people who don't listen to AC/DC (and in this day and age, virtually every rock fan does) have heard this song. Love the guitar riff, it has a great groove, and you can tell Bon Scott had a blast singing them lyrics! An AC/DC staple even thirty years later, this is good-time rock and roll!
"Can I Sit Next To You, Girl": This song has an old-fashioned swing to it that gives a unique touch to the album. A cool song, this makes me think of what it must have been like going to a high-school dance in AC/DC's time.
"Little Lover": Another blues-styled rocker very similar to "The Jack", but the lyrics are less double-entendre styled and more of those "I'm so in love with my lady!" lyrics, which make for a nice image, coming from Bon Scott's one-of-a-kind delivery.
"She's Got Balls": Such a title would bring up very strange confusion, and hearing them is another. Imagine hearing a twenty-year-old guy with shoulder-length hair and arm tattoos wailing, "The lady's got balls!/ She's got BA-A-ALLS!". Nevertheless, another great groove-rocker.
"High Voltage": More lyrics about being an independent and free rocker, you gotta love it! The riff is great, too, and sounds a bit like T. Rex's "Bang A Gong, Get It On" riff. Actually, I read that Malcolm Young was a fan of the band, so that makes perfect sense. An excellent way to close the album.
Overall:
"Rolling Stone" magazine said this was an "all-time low" in hard rock history when it first came out. Now, it's sold more than 3 million in the U.S. alone, and still boasts a handful of AC/DC classics! After having listened to this album for a long time, those critics couldn't be further from the truth! Anyway, the remastering on this album is excellent, the raw tone of the guitars is great, and this is an album that is sure to keep you interested. The only thing I would like to point out is that, compared to later albums, the remastering of the drums on this album is terrible! Hearing it on "It's A Long Way...", compared to songs such as "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)", or countless others, it could have used more work!
Anyway, with all things said and done, this is a great debut album from five guys that know rock and roll! If you like AC/DC, you're gonna love this album! Thanks for the time, catch ya later!

Another great AC/DC album.......2007-06-27

The Begining Of A Legend.......2007-01-04
The upside:A great CD,filled with catchy songs, the highlights are "Tnt" "Little Lover" "The jack" "High Voltage" "It's A Long Way","Rock And Roll Singer",and "Live Wire" (realizing I mentioned nearly every song, but that's seriously how good this is)
The downside:Ac/Dc never changes, for many this is a bad thing, you can ALWAYS know what to expect from them. You won't ever find a disco song or a rap song or a country song on an Ac/Dc album. There are no surprises. However,in my book that's a good thing. If you want great dancable rock and roll that you can sing along, you always know you can rely on Ac/Dc...aside from all the albums having the same style (which is good in my opinion) there are no downsides at all
The bottom line:Good time rock and roll at it's best.It won't make you think too hard,it's easy to remember and fun to sing along and dance to.You should run not walk to buy this, the donutman says so!!!

Amazon.com
Despite not even charting in the band's native England, this album became a platinum-selling American hit on the basis of three enduring FM radio staples--the expansive, jazzy impressionism of the near-12 minute title track, and the more straightforward funk of the R&B charmers "Light Up or Leave Me Alone" and "Rock & Roll Stew." Those disparate tracks perfectly underscore Traffic's rich musical appeal and its restless, sometimes problematic creative and interpersonal relationships. With now thrice-departed Dave Mason out of the mix and percussionists Jim Gordon and Reebop Kwaku Baah participating in the studio for the first time, the band's innate musicality truly takes wing. Winwood's familiar vocal phrasings nearly take a backseat to his fluid, dramatic guitar work on "Rock & Roll Stew Roll" and "Many a Mile to Freedom," while the Tull-ish, folk-madrigal sensibilities of "Hidden Treasure" and "Rainmaker" are further punctuated by Chris Wood's deft flute and woodwind flourishes. Compared with the more organic John Barleycorn album, the contrast is all the more remarkable. While many contemporary bands were experimenting with various attempts at fusion, few achieved this collection's rock-jazz-folk-R&B range or level of often subtle sophistication. Digitally remastered, this edition also contains the six-minute-plus U.S. single version of "Rock & Roll Stew, Parts 1 & 2" as a bonus track. --Jerry McCulleyCustomer Reviews:

With a voice like Stevie Wonder, a production sound that recalls the string-laden, slinky-bass disco of Studio 54, and a penchant for funky dance moves and outlandish hats, Jamiroquai's Jay Kay has successfully managed to straddle the underground and mainstream for the best part of 15 years. High Times brings together 19 of his band's hits to date, ranging from early 90s acid jazz classics "When You Gonna Learn," "Too Young To Die," and "Blow Your Mind," to later successes such as "Canned Heat," "Cosmic Girl," "Virtual Insanity," and on to recent songs from 2005 album Dynamite, such as "Feels Just Like It Should" and "7 Days In Sunny June." There are also two new tracks--the current single "Runaway" and the edgier "Radio," both of which continue the Jamiroquai tradition of mildly euphoric dancefloor disco-soul. Despite sticking to a formula of sorts over the years, the songs on this collection compliment each other well and form an impressive overview of one of the UK's most distinctive bands. --Danny McKennaAlbum Description

Even better than expected!~~WOW!.......2007-06-22
I am so glad I bought this CD with JAMIROQUAI's best hits (and plus some "extra" bonus songs are included).
If you like the sound of a sort of combo "jazz-rock" Cd then this is the one for you. JAMIROQUAI is a great band. It`s hard to truly define their sound, but whatever it is ,... it's GREAT!
As I said before, this band is a combo jazz-rock with a bit of alternative thrown in. The lead singer is AMAZING! The other band players are absolutely amazing too.
If you get this Cd, you wont be able to stop your feet from twitching to their beat. FUN!!!!!!
PS: if you have seen NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE then you will recognize track # 11!!---LOVE IT, and so will you!
One Of The Best Compilations.......2007-06-09
Two new GREAT songs!.......2007-04-22
Amazing Band.......2007-03-12
I know you already have all of their songs. . .just buy this anyway........2007-03-10
What's also crazy is that I really can't believe that I've been listening to Jamiroquai for 14 years. Have I gotten that old?
5 Star rating = I promise you will enjoy this product. No regrets.

Writing a credible musical is hard enough, but writing a credible musical based on both Nick Hornby's High Fidelity, one of indie rockdom's most beloved novels, and his film adaptation was a herculean task. Give book writer David Lindsay-Abaire (the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rabbit Hole), lyricist Amanda Green, and composer Tom Kitt credit for trying, even if when listening to this CD it quickly becomes clear that their middle-of-Broadway sensibility may not have been the most suited to source material completely immersed in the obsessive world of record-collecting rock purists. (Compare and contrast to the obsessive world of record-collecting show-tune purists, which is the background for the wonderful Drowsy Chaperone.) The energetic cast exerts itself--and, as in the movie, Rob's record-store helpers Dick (Christian Anderson) and Barry (Jay Klaitz) steal the show from leads Rob (Will Chase) and Laura (Jenn Colella). But while the shrieky, Guns N' Roses-meets-Beastie Boys "Conflict Resolution" is fun, overall the music lacks spark and energy, which is quite noticeable in a number that should be BIG, like "Nine Percent Chance." The CD includes "Too Tired," a bonus track sung by Colella that was cut from the show. --Elisabeth VincentelliAlbum Description
High Fidelity follows the story of record-store owner Rob (and constant Top 5 listemaker) who - when things in his current relationship go sour - revisits his former relationships ot find out where he went wrong.Customer Reviews:

How a Lack of Patience Killed a Great Broadway Musical!.......2007-06-27
Terrific recording (5 stars) of a Flop show (2 stars).......2007-05-30
SOFT ROCK.......VERY SOFT ROCK.......2007-05-17
The cast are unknowns but Will Chase is good as Rob, the perpetually unlucky-in-love record shop owner. He rates his romantic disasters like a top ten Billboard music chart.
The CD makes for pleasant listening but considering the storys locale it should have been a blast.
I rated 4 stars because despite my reservations Tom Kitt the composer and especially Amanda Green the lyricist are talented and probably have a future in music ahead of them.
