Product Description
Spanish alternative rookies Lori Meyers formed in 1998 in Loja, Granada. Their glossy youth is undoubtedly alluring but their taste for raw guitar sounds and vocal melodies melted with striking rhythm section proves a charismatic maturity. Lori Meyers was founded by highschool mates "Noni" Antonio López (vocals, guitar), Julián Méndez (bass, keyboard, vocals), Alejandro Méndez (guitar) and Alfredo Núñez (drums). "Viaje de Estudios" is Lori Meyer's first album and also the first spanish-singing release at Houston Party Records. Talented and personal, the band displays a wide range of pop songs that are both fresh and common placed. In "Viaje de estudios" roots and influences include such names as The Flaming Lips, Pixies, Los Brincos, Los Planetas y Teenage Fanclub. The album has been recorded at Los Planetas' recording studio El Refugio Anti-aéreo in their hometown, Granada, and it's been produced by Superchunk's frontman Mac McCaughan. The album includes radio hit "Tokio Ya No Nos Quiere", which has appeared first as a single. Catchy melodies and shiny guitar sounds are present all over songs such us "La Mujer Esponja" and "Ya lo Sabes". Crafted-pop tunes and lush vocals that shimmer brightly. A truly astonishing debut album.
