Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars A powerful hard rock CD.......2004-09-10

What's good about it?
Heavy riffage kick off "Powertool". It sounds a little like Sevendust due to the deep, soulful but edgy vocals. "Nitro" kicks the tempo up a notch to drive the title. Be wary of this one in the car. You'll be dropping the pedal before you know it. A dark, ominous riff introduces "Return of the Demons", but it's soon replaced by a catchy rhythm section. This track could easily set the tone to a modern day horror flick. The best track on the CD is by far the title track "Dirty Pounding Gasoline". The wicked opening bass line clues you in to the fury that's around the corner. "The Seven" has a balls-to-the-wall chugga-chugga riff that overlaps raw, angry vocals. There's some great bluesy soloing here. The X-Headz throw a ballad into the mix with "Burning". The track flows with a nice single note picking effect, and then cuts to some pounding rhythms and back again.

Anything bad?
The radio friendly track "Supersonic" is neither super nor sonic; and I find that quite ironic. Speaking of which, how can you have an "Outro" with no intro? The first song sounds like every song that follows it. Seems to be a trend with Locomotive Records.

Bottom Line
I thought that The X-Headz were some sort of extreme sports themed band. The cover has a dirt bike rider surrounded by flames. That was until I read what their name in Germany is, so now I'm confused. Dirty Pounding Gasoline is still a powerful hard rock CD.

5 out of 5 stars that's the big one - the new powerful generation! x-headz.......2004-08-24

so, there's not much to tell 'bout this one. you shall listen and you'll shake your head for sure. this is the new power, funnily enough comin from germany. the good old dirty rock'n'roll. they've been a support-act for anthrax and motorhead no less! it rocks. if you can get the chance to see them live on stage, don't miss it! i've seen them a few times and it always was a big show, rockin and groovin. that's it what it's like ... it's a "must-buy". rock on ...
