The films of director Zhang Yimou have a panoramic sweep to them that deftly creates a fantastical vision of ancient Chinese culture for the screen. Yimou's eye for color and sense of drama demands a score that conveys the emotion, tradition and action of his movies. Here Shigeru Umebayashi tells each part of the story with a mix of traditional flute, drums, string instruments and, to a lesser degree, orchestra and moody-sounding synthesizers. The lilting melody of "Lovers" is particularly effective, simmering with a passion that leaves no doubt about the tone of the scene; it comes back to dramatic effect at other times in the film as well--the soundtrack closes with a soaring version of it by soprano Kathleen Battle. Similar to but not as heavy as Tan Dun's occasionally overbearing work on Yimou's film Hero, Umebayashi leans toward the subtle for this love story, and the film is better for it. - Tad Hendrickson

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful score.......2006-11-13

I truly enjoy this CD. The music is enchanting, emotion-evoking, and powerful. I love to listen to it in order to relax before going to bed. I recommend this CD to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars A gorgeous film score.......2006-09-24

"House of Flying Daggers" is one of my favorite Asian films from the past five years. One of the main reasons I love the film is the sumptuous classical film score by Shigeru Umebayashi. The classical score reminded me a great deal of the score for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". The operatic ballad by Kathleen Battle is stunning. I don't normally like most opera music but I definitely enjoyed listening to Kathleen Battle. This is a lovely cd to relax to with a hot cup of tea and a good book.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT MUSIC........2006-05-18

Not only was House of Flying Daggers a wonderful movie, but the music was breathtaking. If for no other reason purchase the CD and enjoy Kathleen Battle's rendition of Lovers.

5 out of 5 stars Never Gets Boring.......2005-12-25

This album has everything good music needs. It's driving, subtle, powerful and soft. It is a truly amazing work of art. It gets the emotions of the characters and the events of the story out perfectly. A ballet could be performed to this score.

5 out of 5 stars Great !!.......2005-07-19

The music is wonderful, the two songs are one of the best I've heard...

If one's notion of "world music" promises a touch of the exotic and indigenous, often overlooked is the fact that the influence of western pop music has seeped into every corner of the globe, creating a hybrid that's often more than merely the sum of its influences. Theater vet Brightman steps into that pan-cultural hall of mirrors here, wedding her fascination with the music and rhythms of the "forbidden places" (the title's Arabic meaning) of the Middle East to her own oft ethereal vocal charms and rock-solid sense of drama. And if the diva's equally sound crossover sensibilities (and that of longtime producer Frank Peterson) sometimes mire it in familiar world-beat pastiche, Brightman's charmed muse manages some transcendent moments nonetheless. Her musical borrowings (Borodin for the title track; Puccini's *Madame Butterfly* for "It's a Beautiful Day") are as compelling as her choice of collaborators: classical violin star Nigel Kennedy and Iraqi vocalist Kadim Al Sahir add compelling touches to the weary timeliness of "The War is Over." The musical influences range from Europe across the Mediterranean and as far East as the Indian roots of "Bollywood" composer A.R. Rahman's "The Journey Home" and Brightman's own "You Take My Breath Away" to evocative recastings of the emblematic standards "Stranger in Paradise" and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World," while ex-Killing Joke keyboardist Jaz Coleman provides the savory East-meets-West orchestrations that ensure Brightman's star turns the seamless foundations they deserve. --Jerry McCulley

4 out of 5 stars New to Sarah Brightman.......2007-03-12

I'm very new to Sarah brightman's music and I enjoy this CD. I think she has an amazing voice. Very talented young woman and this cd was very relaxing and joyful to listen to. I like to learn and heard more from Sarah Brightman.

3 out of 5 stars Stranger in Paradise - More Like Stranger in a Lost Cause.......2006-12-30

I'm not throughly pleased with this album! This CD is only good if you know how to dance in a Middle-Easters fashion. About half of each track is dominated by all orchestrations and no Sarah. Plus, Pop-Sarah isn't really for me. I much prefer the Classical-Sarah. Some of the tracks are okay, like "Harem", "The Journey Home", "Beautiful", and "Stranger in Paradise". Really, this is a good CD for your collection, but I wouldn't listen to it on a 24/7 basis.

5 out of 5 stars No voice like hers in the world.......2006-10-01

I own this cd. I saw her in person at the "Harem" concert. Never had I heard or seen any voice like this. What a performer, best concert I'd ever seen. Beautiful voice, I can never get enough of Sarah Brightman's music. It is so comforting at times. I have all her music and this cd makes you wonder, how can she top this? Thank you Sarah Brightman for giving us your beautiful gift of music.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant Brightman, Her best CD........2006-09-18

Sarah is just the best, she can hit any note and her individuality shines on this CD. She sings "The Journey Home" from the musical Bombay Dreams and her voice just soars. "Harem", "Mysterious Ways" and "You Take My Breah Away" are songs that take me to dreamland. Amazing! A master piece!

5 out of 5 stars Monumental Posthumous album.......2007-01-12

This is the best posthumous album from Tupac and Im not taking any talk back from you. You hear me? In 2001, Until The End Of Time was the best album. The next best album of 2001 would be Broken Silence. Tupac's memory is not destroyed by this album as a matter of fact it does justice to our conscious poet. Standout Tracks on disc 1: BALLAD OF A DEAD SOULJA, F***FRIENDS(takes shots at Jay-z and Dr Dre), LIL HOMIES, LET EM HAVE IT, GOOD LIFE, LETTER 2 MY UNBORN, BREATHIN, ALL OUT(takes shots at Mobb Deep and Jay-z), F****N WITH THE WRONG N***A, UNTIL THE END OF TIME(RL on the hook was icing on the cake), M.O.B., WORLWIDE MOB FIGGAZ etc. Filler on disc 1: NONE! Standout Tracks for disc 2: MY CLOSEST ROADDOGZ, N****Z NATURE(Tupac and Lil Mo: great combination), WHEN THUGZ CRY, U DONT HAVE TO WORRY, THIS AINT LIVIN, WHY YOU TURN ON ME(takes shots at Wendy Williams if you are wondering), LASTONESLEFT, WORDS 2 MY FIRST BORN, LET EM HAVE IT REMIX(RIP Left Eye Lisa Lopes), RUNNIN ON E(disses Mobb Deep), WHEN I GET FREE etc. Filler on disc 2: None. Bottom Line: Until The End Of Time is easily the best album of 2001. The Production was superb, the lyrics were always on point and the guest appearances were on fire. Until The End Of Time is the best posthumous album from Tupac. Dont let anybody tell you different.

5 out of 5 stars Classic. One of the best hip hop albums ever........2006-08-02

This CD is a piece of art. As the title said, Tupac tried to say everthing he wanted before dying. As any Tupac fan knows, he was crazy about his own death. This CD is about love, struggle, hustle, and a need for any hip hop fan.

Buy it and you won't regret any dollar.

5 out of 5 stars love songs easy to listen too.......2007-05-07

I love a classical voice singing this type of mustic, or sacred (from the operas (in English), or, out of print sacred. Wish I could find a source for some of my old tapes (some recorded from 78s) of artists like Jerome Hines (Holy City, 1962-3, 78 record I transferred to tape), Russel Davis (1970 or early 8os record I coped, of tape my Dad had copied), William Harness, Kathleen Battle, etc. etc. I enjoy a wide range of music, but had operatic training, so understand the requirements for superior vocal skill. John Denver had much of the quality. Music for me is part of the fabric of life.

4 out of 5 stars This is an oldie but a goodie!.......2006-11-09

One of his first albums of "popular" songs and one of the best of the songs we have loved for years with a fresh, new Domingo treatment. Just as his album with John Denver was a something new for him, these songs are out of the opera world. You'll never hear any of them performed by anyone up to the "gold standard" of Domingo. That being said, I love this album, but - the accent gets in the way on the English songs. You have to be able to accept the accented English and just listen to the gorgeous voice singing some very romantic songs. I highly recommend!

2 out of 5 stars Great for boring candlelight dinner or quick ride in an elevator........2006-10-31

As much as I enjoy listening to Placido Domingo's popular recordings this is not one of his best performances. Missing the full-blooded belting that can be heard on his other albums ("Be My Love" for example). The orchestration is very mediocre and uninspired.
For a romantic mood, "Perhaps Love" (simply fabulous) is much better choice.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful music.......2006-02-23

I have been looking for this title for a long time...in all the wrong places.

5 out of 5 stars A Valentine's Day Gift for all time.......2005-02-02

If you truly want to touch someone's heart, give this as a Valentine's gift. I received the CD last year and I love every minute. It makes a loving gift of one of the greats. With such a long career you would think that Placido would disappoint. So far it hasn't happened. This year my honey and I will see him in concert! Another Valentine's day wish come true.

This 1991 companion to German director Wim Wenders's film sets a high water mark for the intelligent use of cutting-edge popular (and we're using that term in its broadest sense) music on film, deservedly cracking onto critical lists for the best releases of that year, period. The contemplative thriller's setting at the end of the millenium is answered by a remarkable repertory of artists including Talking Heads, Neneh Cherry, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, R.E.M., Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Patti Smith, Jane Siberry with k.d. lang, T-Bone Burnett, Daniel Lanois and U2, a de facto dream team. Nearly all these performances were unheard at the time of release, and beyond the evident marquee lustre there's an underlying cohesion to the sense of yearning that prevails. Both Cave and U2 build powerful songs around the title theme, Elvis offers a brilliant Ray Davies cover, and the Siberry/lang classic, "Calling All Angels," summarizes the spiritual underpinnings of this thoroughly modern, ultimately timeless classic in film music. --Sam Sutherland

3 out of 5 stars Movie soundtrack.......2007-04-16

I had seen the movie and wanted the soundtrack. The CD is dated, but worth it to have if you liked the movie.

5 out of 5 stars Evocative & Eclectic.......2007-02-10

Just an absolutely amazing album. This genius collection of songs was probably one of my biggest musical influences.

5 out of 5 stars Must have.......2006-12-24

There's not a single clunker on this disc. It's worth twice the offered price. Buy it, you will not be disappionted!

5 out of 5 stars Magic of Music.......2006-09-30

I first heard this soundtrack circa spring of '92. My niece Mel had this playing in her car one day we went out of town and it moved me so much I immediately went out and bought it for myself. I was heavy into U2's "Achtung Baby" at the time and thought it was really cool that this soundtrack was named after a song on that c.d. and was also included on it.

I'd heard most of these artists already, but this soundtrack seemed to bring out a different feel to them. Every song on this soundtrack is gorgeous and often stunning, a few even bring me to tears every time I hear them, one being Jane Siberry's "Calling All Angels" {I recently heard a beautiful cover of this song one day coming home from Seattle on "A Prarie Home Companion"; Garrison Keiller's All Star Band and a female singer who's name escapes me played a moving rendition of it and I was amazed by it, it's power, it's beauty, even played live in this context}.

One of all-time Favorite c.d.'s in my music collection, the music on this soundtrack seems to transcend time and space. Beautiful and moving.

5 out of 5 stars Music Of Moods.......2006-08-17

My fiancee kept trying to play her old casette version of this soundtrack. It was so old that it kept on messing up her player. I ordered this music on CD, and the first night she received it, she could not believe the improved sound quality of the music she cherished. Listening in a new way kept her bragging about the songs all night long. Well, almost all night long.

Great songs, great artist. Mood music. Try it.

5 out of 5 stars A Classic Recording.......2007-03-09

This was a great buy for me. The power and accuracy of Placido's voice are demonstrated well. Two CD's and 34 songs--just can't beat that for the price.

4 out of 5 stars A must for a Placido fan.......2005-04-23

If you've continously listened to this master of tenors and said "wow, I like it, I want to listen even more of him", then raise it to 5 stars, which is the rating I personally give the CD; HOWEVER, if you've only heard him once or not at all, you might want to wait a while and get to know him and other tenors better. Why? Well, disc 1 is the "classical" disc, with arias from famous operas and choral pieces by Puccini and the like, but disc 2, the "modern" or "popular" disc, contains music that will leave you a bit puzzled, since it's is not for everyone; a lot of people have never heard zarzuela or tunes by Manzanero or Lecuona. In short, this disc is better suited for fans of Placido or people who want to know him better, if not, it still is a top choice, and this way you just might fall in love with him (well, his singing, not him literally).

5 out of 5 stars Great for what it is.......2005-01-13

I agree with the previous poster that this does not contain his great dramatic stuff like otello/wagner, but the collection is a beautiful one. There are some great recordings here, and his crossover stuff(maria, Dulcinea, impossible dream) is very interesting. His opera is of course impecable and brilliant. Finally we get to hear Domingo's high C in Di Quella Pira, and its a good one. The zarzuela or spanish operetta type songs and are wonderful.

I found this to be beautiful and exhilirating to listen to.

4 out of 5 stars Certainly not ALLL the Essential Domingo.......2005-01-03

I grew up with Placido Domingo. Not in the sense of being boyhood friends, but rather in the sense that he was part of my "Golden Age" at the Metropolitan Opera. Of the "Three Tenors" (more Marketing hype than useful grouping of three fine singers) Domingo was the most dramatic - the "heaviest" of the three. His repertoire extended well beyond the lyric - and that's why this collection is not all the "essential" Domingo, but rather offers an interesting look at the lighter, more lyric side of Placido Domingo. You won't find Lohengrin or Otello here, but you will find many of the more lyric tenor arias from Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti - to name a few.

There is an "edge" to Domingo's voice that perhaps accounts for his ability to transition successfully into the heavier repertory. I find that tonal quality particularly noticeable in this collection - and sometimes too pronounced. On the other hand, there are a few wonderful surprises. His "Una furtiva lagrima" from L'elisir d'amore is a stand out. Its rare you here a tenor with this much power sing the role. The duet "Bima dagli occhi" from Madama Butterfly with Renata Scotto, again casts Pinkerton with a quality tenor not often found in the opera house any more. I loved the selection from Gianni Schicchi - when is the last time you found Rinuccio cast with this size tenor voice - and the Italian tenor's aria from Rosenkavalier is a treasure from a recording currently out of print. And then there is one of Domingo's signature roles - Jack Rance in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West. No one sings Rance better than Domingo - and the excerpt from the complete recording finds Domingo at his very best.

Disk two is devoted to song - popular and classical. There is a fair amount of tripe - too much cross over (as in who needs to hear Domingo sing "The Impossible Dream" from Man of La Mancha - Broadway is not Mr. Domingo's genre). But there are some wonderful cuts as well - "Granada" is a Domingo encore specialty, and I was particularly struck by the song "In Pace" from the motion picture Hamlet - I never saw the film and was truly taken aback at how beautiful a song this is, and Domingo's voice soars.

I found the sound of these CD's a bit "tinny". Perhaps its the analogue to digital conversion, but I was disappointed in the overall sound. The album is badly mistitled "The Essential Placido Domingo". Certainly this is some of the essential Domingo - and some very wonderful examples of the lyric Domingo - but there is clearly a volume two to come - the dramatic Placido Domingo. But why wait - buy this fine collection, and then feast on some of the complete recordings such as Otello or Lohengrin.

4 out of 5 stars Solid, comfortable, familiar -- very good!.......2005-01-01

Why wait to see if this reviewer enjoyed Sony's latest offering: I did, and so will you. Hats off to Sony for getting it right with this two CD, 34-song bonanza of Placido Domingo singing -- well, as the name implies -- the essentials, from opera to Broadway to Hollywood, in a mix that keeps its distance while holding it all together in a package that breeds enough familiarity to make even the most harsh tenor critic purr. The more clasical offerings are on the first CD and the more sentimental are on disc two. Interestingly, I found side two more seductive and subdued in tone, and enjoyed listening to Mr. Domingo's interpretation of such popular favorites as "Maria" from "West Side Story", "Dulcinea" from "Man From LaMancha" and a couple duets with John Denver (Perhaps Love) and Maureen McGovern (A Love Without End). The songs selected for side two actually did set a thematic tone. Readers of my reviews know that I place a high value on a CDs overall ability to present what is offered in a bundle that sets and keeps a mood. I usually ask two questions: is it consistent once the mood is set; and does it keep the listener in that mood throughout once established? Here, well, here, I break from tradition and profess some confusion. The mood on disc one is not thematic but ecclectic -- from solo's to duets, from live recordings to studio, from one orchestra to the next, from upbeat to mellow. Technically, while there is some difference in the overall sound quality while switching from one setting to another, it is something you would have to listen for to catch, and becaue of this doesn't amount to a serious flaw as presented. What saves disc one from my usual "tenor blahs" is Mr. Domingo's exceptional voice and the selection of songs chosen -- which, while altering between one mood and another, are all familiar enough that we listen with knowing ease to what we expect. This isn't the kind of CD you put on while holding a conversation with anyone, but rather one you would put on, close your eyes and listen to for its sheer technical achievement -- or more precisely for Mr. Domingo's talent. The voice is clear and strong and passinate and reflects Mr. Domingo's control of his range and interpretive skills. Listen to Verdi's "Ingemisco" with The London Symphony and Leonard Bernstein; Puccini's "Bimba Dagli Occhi" with Renata Scoto (he sings a couple meodies with Scoto) and Umberto Giordino's "Amor ti Vieta" from Fedora to get an idea of what I am referring to here. It took me a couple sessions with each side to settle down and appreciate what was offered. Hopefully this review will get you ready and you will enjoy it from the start. PJW

1 out of 5 stars The same exact thing!.......2005-03-25

The best way to describe Until The End's 4th album "The Blind Leading The Lost" is to just say "see previous albums".

You'd think in all this time Until The End they'd have progressed, if not even just a tad bit, but no, it's the same exact UTE album.

The riffs are bland and uninspiring, the guitar work is so repetitive, all the songs sound the same and even sound the same as on previous UTE albums. Heck one of them is the same, who's bright idea was it to put yet ANOTHER version of "Nothing Between Us" on this CD?

The sad part is that some people will actually like this repetitive crap.

5 out of 5 stars BEST UTE EVA.......2005-02-23

New vocals are awesome, better than "mean pete" and that's saying something. Musically still the same old, same old, but what's wrong with that when UTE play the very best of CHUGGA CHUGGA. Long live the breakdown. Those who oppose shall suffer!

3 out of 5 stars A step in the right direction for Kitte.......2007-03-21

I have to say this is probably the best Kittie CD I've heard, but let's start with my complaints first. I found it hard to take Morgan's screaming seriously at times during the CD. She came across as almost comical with some of her screams and to me seemed to lack the power of an Otep or Arch Enemy's vocalist. That being said, it was the only negative to me. I really enjoyed the overall musicianship Kittie brought to the table on this disc and what caught my ears the most was Mercedes' drumming. She has vastly improved since the "Spit" days. Of course they were teens when that disc came out and the maturity shows. The tracks that featured Morgan's singing voice and were layered with background screams were the one's that caught my attention. Overall Kittie is starting to truly establish themselves as a fine metal band.

1 out of 5 stars Even more awful mallcore music..........2006-07-16

Okay really, bands like Kittie make it seem like chicks can't do metal. Kittie make cr a p p y bands like Otep and Evanescence look like Arch Enemy or The Gathering for fu c k's sake! None of the band members can play their instruments properly, they just play simple riffs without soloing. The vocalist just screams like an as s. The lyrics are more whiney emo/metalcore cr a p about how they broke up with their boyfriends or how they want to slit their wrists. Kittie fans have dumb Myspaces with names like "Dark Princess" or "Bleeding Roses". Of course I'm going to get negative reviews because I'm not supporting this junk but instead of this, listen to real chick metal like Arch Enemy, The Gathering, or Nightwish.

Burn in hell Kittie!!!

4 out of 5 stars Kittie Rules.......2006-07-13

Kittie is the best goth chick band out there. No one compares to them. "Until the End" is much more calm than their first two albums. It is nice to hear goth music that is not all the same. They really give their listeners something different.

4 out of 5 stars Here's MY opinion of the album, don't like it, then too bad.......2006-07-03

I've had this cd for a while and in MY opinion (that's right MY opinion, you don't like that idea then kiss my A.., I wasn't put on this earth to make you happy) it is a good album, the cover art ain't too bad either, and I don't really have any problem with the cd (music-wise), but I am going to let you guys in on a little secret for what you can do; if you want to get this album, by all means do so: Get the album, listen to it, and either destroy it because you (like all other "Kittie haters") think it sucks or keep it in your collection of cd's which I'm sure needs to be cleaned of the dust that has settled since I'm also sure you've uploaded all the songs from all of the cds onto your computer to be put into your mp3 player or ipod or to just burn it to a cd of mixed songs, or whatever flippin reason you have the dust.

On a side note, mainly for Danny and all the other "Kittie haters", I listen to Sabbath, Pantera (RIP Dimebag), Slayer, Lamb of God, Motorhead, Nevermore, God Forbid, Tool, and pretty much most of the other metal bands out there that I did not name. I say most cause there are those few bands I don't like, Kittie is (obviously) not one of them.

So, again, if you want to get this album, then quit reading these reviews, get it, and review it yourself whether you like it or not. I'm just saying that it's a good album

3 out of 5 stars An honest look at the band.......2006-06-01

Kittie is a band unlike most out there. To put them in a category is not fair to them, or to any of the many bands who create the music that we enjoy. Each song that a band creates has it's own characteristics which we like or we do not, based solely on your own personal tastes.

Now in this album in particular I find that Kittie did make a strong effort to create something powerful, but they fell short in some specific areas.

You will find that many of the songs sound extremely similar, where the vocals lack in variation, and sometimes the lead and back-up just don't sound like they really belong together. Overall if you are a fan of the strong vocals, straight forward screaming, then you will love each song because that is what you will find here.

I personally find that an album is much better when the artists vary their stylings based on the mood of the song itself. In the earlier albums put out by Kittie you see much more variation, more experimenting, but now they seem to be pigeon holding themselves to this very heavy image or sound.

To those who are big fans of Kittie, this will be a good addition to your collection because when you listen to it WITH the other albums it will add more of what you like. Simply put, this is a good album to go WITH other music, its a good album to take songs off of for a mix.

5 out of 5 stars BEST CD I OWN!.......2007-05-13

This is by far my favorite Sarah Brightman Cd. Although it is probably her most pop oriented cd, it totally rocks! Most of the songs have a Middle Eastern Edge to them and are awesome to blast in the car! Make sure to try to get the version with either the bonus Dvd or the french tracks!

FIVE STARS!

2 out of 5 stars not the best.......2007-04-12

I agree with "music fan" about this CD. Eden is a good album, and she's a good artist. But either this album was poorly produced or something, because this does not show her best. I wouldn't classify this as world music at all, because the instruments aren't used and it's more classical pop; if that's a genre. It seemed rambly to me with many of the songs sounding similar and lacking originality. I love her, she's unique in her genre. But she really shines as a classicist, with Classics, her work by Andrew Lloyd Webber (who she married) and operatic albums. This is what she's best at, so her collaborations on Eden and La Luna, which are classical in nature but still allowed her to branch out musically, turned out good. I have a lot of her albums, but I wouldn't buy this one. It's more something to listen to once. A few of the songs are good, the album isn't terrible, but it's not very good.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD/DVD set.......2007-03-31

5 out of 5 stars Magical Sarah Brightman.......2006-12-24

Sarah's voice soars! I love her voice and I'm a new fan. ^^ I've heard her name lots of times before from people I know and when I received some of her CDs and videos as early Christmas present, I was in awe! She definitely has the voice of an angel.

5 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Forbidden.......2006-06-10

"Harem" is probably one of Sarah Brightman's most unique albums to date. Rarely an artist can captivate the sounds of the far east and be able to mix them in well with a western feel. west meets east if you will. Its nearly impossible to pick out one favorite out of the 14 tracks on the album. You can't choose "Harem" over "The War Is Over" or "Arabian Nights". All the songs on the album are the best and do the album justice and fit perfectly in their own way, as the theme is quite clear: Middle-Eastern music with a hint of pop and some club sounds. And while the album could have ended at "Until the End of Time" (yet another beautiful song on the album), Brightman ends the album with "You Take My Breath Away" (originally from her album Fly). Personally, this track should have been only present on "Harem" and not on the album "Fly". An excellent way nonetheless of ending the album.

The DVD shows the making of the album, and the video Harem is also on the DVD along with an alternate version to the video. Its the first time i've ever seen a video from Sarah Brightman and i must say, i'm not disappointed at all.

I'm anxiously awaiting a new album. I'm a new fan of Brightman's and i love what i'm hearing from this album. Highly recommended.

tupac is the best song writer there will ever be and you mentaly retarted if you think anything else. this is just one of the many great albums that he has. he is one of a kind there will never be anyone as good as him

4 out of 5 stars this is 5 star material but then greatest hits should be 6.......2003-07-16

this isnt tupacs best but dont let me throw u off wit that. this is still better then 99% of the emcees out there makin albums. He mixed poetry to rap made it work then touched us with songs that were positive instead of the normal negative" Im gonna kill you" vibe displayed by other hiphop artists. THis album is really dope but then albums like me against the world, greatest hits, all eyez on me and others should be given 6 or 7 stars because they make a mockery of any other hiphop album made( exceptions of born again, ready to die, capital punishment, its dark and hell is hot, eazy duz it, chronic 2001 and others.)
But this album is still a must for any one.............

3 out of 5 stars Clean, but not springtime fresh............2002-04-04

I have both the unedited and clean versions of 'Until The End Of Time'. I understand the purpose of having albums like this edited, but I think it takes away from what Tupac Shakur is really trying to say. In the clean version of this album, 'Big Syke Interlude' has been scrapped on the 2nd disc. Also, words being spoken by Tupac before and after the songs have either been edited, or been scrapped from the songs completely. Overall, I am pleased that ThaRow/Amaru/Interscope decided to release a clean version of this, and other albums by Tupac Shakur, but I think that the listener would get more out of the unedited versions.

This album is equal to any of the previous albums released by PAC. You feel this album especially the poetic Unborn Child, and Letter to my unborn. As far as am aware he didn't have any kids. This shows the depth of his thinking and mental attitude and lyrical writing ability. In until the end of time, he displays a charamatic personality asking himself if he is to blame for his troubles. The emphatic all out track demostrates the various levels this artist is able to reach, while still maintaining the entertainment value. The album is almost like a dairy filled with events that pursued his lifesyle - not many Rap artists can display this type of thought provoking lyrics. Buy it and you will not be disappointed a great album, a good album a sad album, the musical lyrical genius of Tupac is very much ALIVE

5 out of 5 stars untill the end of time.......2001-10-18
