Though often compared to fellow Pittsburgh rockers Anti-Flag, The Code is blazing their own path of positive politically and socially conscience messages with the upcoming release of their new EP on Jump Start Records. The Code is ready to send their newest musical triumphs out into the world and let me say there are no complaints from the peanut gallery! The new EP contains three unreleased songs as well as a cover of the Operation Ivy song "Unity", a nod to the band they have so often be compared to in their CD reviews. Keeping true to their punk/ska roots, the new release successfully supports and strengthens their bluecollar agenda of raising heads in questioning authority. Their melodies and tunes, tougher then the blue collar industries they grew up around, are sure to serve as inspiration to the fans and bands already under their influence. Produced, mixed, and mastered by a cast of veritable rock and roll all stars, this four song EP is sure to resonate until the release of their next full-length record is released. Mixed by Bill Stevenson and Andrew Belin at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado, Bill has also mixed records by Less Then Jake, The Suicide Machines, and Good Riddance as well as playing drums, producing, and recording for his own bands, All and The Descendents. King Django (Stubborn All-Stars, King Django Band) also contributed to mixing the dub version of "The Pace" at Version City Studios. Lastly the man to master just about every punk record that has mattered over the past ten years, Alan Douches at West West Side Music made his contribution to these tracks as well.

Album Description

Since 1997, Boston's Dropkicks have released six albums, each bettering the last in sales. Punk/Irish Folk Who knew it would fit together so well?.......2007-05-15

I had heard the Dropkick Murphys before on some Punk-O-Rama cds, and liked thier music, but I just never bought a cd until the Warrior's Code. This is one of if not THE best cd I have heard in a very long time. From the upbeat riffs of "Your Spirit's Alive" to the somber melody and lyrics of "The Green Fields of France" this cd does not disappoint from start to finish!

I really like this one. Probably my favorite is "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" But there are others such as the tear jerker "The Green Fields of France" Definitely a good CD to use for working out!

A Must Have!.......2007-05-07

I was a little unfamiliar with the Dropkick Murphy's, except for a soundtrack clip from a recent film, and was uncertain with what I would get. Amazons website allows the buyer the ability to listen to clips from each track and I liked what I heard. After I got the CD, liked wasn't the word anymore. Love is the new word and "The Warriors Code" album has become a big favorite of my wife and two children. "Letters Home" hits close to any veteran's heart. In my book "Wicked Sensitive Crew" should be a classic. I highly recommend this album to all you "seriously sensitive dudes!"

For his adaptation of Dan Brown's megaselling book, director Ron Howard didn't take any risks, he called one of Hollywood's most popular composers, Hans Zimmer. Zimmer is a skilled craftsman, which is good and bad since he adequately delivers in a variety of styles, but usually misses the extra unexpected zing that makes a score truly memorable. His work for The Da Vinci Code is almost entirely muted. This may well be one of the quietest soundtracks to a blockbuster you've ever heard; only bursts of threatening-sounding strings occasionally break the quasi-ambient mood. The strategy is particularly efficient on "L'Esprit des Gabriel," which swells in a pleasantly ominous way. It's the kind of track that benefits greatly from blasting through a movie theater's multiple speakers. As a whole the score is as serious-minded as the movie's plot is preposterous. The most compelling aspect is Zimmer's use of a choir, especially on "Malleus Maleficarum," "Salvete Virgines" (paired with clanging metallic percussion), and "Poisoned Chalice," in which soprano Hila Plitmann takes eerie center stage. Yet overall it's often difficult to tell the cues aside, awash as they are in a sea of somber strings. Once upon a time, Hollywood took artistic risks on some of its bigger offerings. Poorly produced disc.......2007-07-12

While I love the music, I found the disc to be badly recorded. The music was extremely "boomy" in bass and often had clicks, as if it had been recorded at too high a level, resulting in cutoff.

I processed my favorite pieces through Bias PEAK software to reduce the boominess and normalize the music to eliminate the clicks; it was more enjoyable, but way too much to expect a customer to do.

Good but a little too long for my liking.......2007-06-27

If there is one good thing that I can actually say about the film adaptation of Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code", it is by far Hans Zimmer's lush, orchestral film score for the film. I wasn't all that impressed with the film (much less the book itself). The only negative thing I can honestly say about the score is that the music is almost too subtle and quiet which makes it a bit difficult to listen to on one's ipod. A lot of Zimmer's scores tends to be loud and bombastic but surprisingly enough this is not the case with "The Da Vinci Code". There are still occasional bombastic moment but they are few and far between. Regardless of the minor flaws, the soundtrack is laced with a lush tapestry of orchestral melodies and operatic vocals reminiscent of Mediaeval Baebes like on "Salvete Virgines". My personal favorite song on the album is the epic "CheValiers De Sangreal". I just love how dramatic the melody is. I think I would have enjoyed this soundtrack even more so if it was edited slightly to just under an hour. A little over an hour was a bit too long for me but overall great soundtrack.

"Hello sister." And the monk shoots the helpless nun and asks her "where is it." Just before she drops dead on the floor of the Chapel.
The book the DA VINCI CODE is about two people, Robert Langdon, and Sophie Nevue. Robert is a Harvard educated symbologist who is a Harvard professor of symbololgy and religious history. Sophie is a French police code decipher for the French DCPJ DEPARTMENT. Together they must find the Holy Grail. Sophie's grandfather was the grandmaster of a secret religious society called the Priory of Sion, his name was Jacques Saunaire and he was murdered along with other important people who belong to the Priory of Sion. They were the protectors of the Holy Grail and the only ones who know where it is hidden. Saunaire left clues for Sophie and Langdon to find the Grail and protect it. But along the way the encounter many problems. One is the monk who I mentioned before, but this monk is also trying to find the location of the grail so he can give it to his master which is the enemy of the Priory of Sion Opus Dei. This monks name is Silas. The other problem is Sophie's boss captain Fache. Fache is certain that Sophie and Langdon are the ones who killed Saunaire. He is trying to catch them. The final problem is there friends, they make lots of friends to help them but most just betray them. This story takes place in Europe in 2003, and the plot is to find the Holy Grail. This is a very action filled book.
My favorite part in this book is when Sophie and Robert This thing called the Keystone, which tells them the final resting place of the Holy Grail. There is a code that needs to be put in in order for the keystone to open. It takes them forever to crack the code and I can't tell if they do it or not because it will spoil the book, but anyway a man they have trusted just betrayed them and what happens next is for you to find out but what happens is amazing.
There are many themes to this story but my to favorite would be, one you can't trust anyone because in this book there is lots of betrayal. Number two would be you have to go with your best instinct because Langdon is always making decisions that could cost him and Sophie's lives.
For my opinion this was my favorite book and I would give it a rating of 10/10 because it is action filled and full of surprises, deceit and lots of mystery. What I like about this book is that it is almost like a history book because all the history in this book is true. Someone who should read this book is someone who likes action, mystery, and adventure. I would not change a single thing I this book because it is that good.

Rose of Arimathea.......2007-05-08

Whiles the movie wasn't exactly my cup of tea, the score was like a taste of heaven and it's even better on the album than it appears in the movie. Zimmer ditches his great action packed stuff and writes what to me is by far my favorite of his. It's richly detailed with themes and motifs that just boggle the mind at how great they are to listen to, and his use of strings and choirs are just amazing. In fact I think Zimmer's choral writing here is probably some of the best use of choir I've ever heard in filmmusic.

The movie being about religion the score is very religious with the choral and strings stuff sounding like something you'd hear in a church, but the great thing Zimmer does is not go too over the top but just give it that religious sound mixed with his own patent dramatic chord progressions that we're used to hearing from him. A lot of the stuff on the album did remind of not only Zimmer's stuff in the past but also some the stuff from Harry Gregson Williams' music from "Kingdom of Heaven". Namely that weird whistling woodwinds that moves around the speakers that Gregson-Williams first used in "Kingdom of Heaven" and some of the choral writing also sounded similar to the choir stuff in "Kingdom of Heaven". I'm guessing that's why he received a thank you from Zimmer on the album.

There are many highlights on the album and for me the ones I can't stop listening to are "Rose of Arimathea", "L'Esprit Des Gabriel", "Fructus Gravis", "Poisoned Chalice", and "Chevaliers de Sangreal". They are all very varied tracks that contain certain motifs that are just to die for. My personal favorite among all of them is the lengthy "Rose of Arimathea" which sounds like a more religious version of Zimmer's stuff from "Crimson Tide". I really love the great choral stuff he uses on that track, especially the bellowing male choir around the 3:33 mark. That little ostinato melody he has on that track can also be heard on "L'Esprit Des Gabriel", except it's played a lot faster there but both variations are great.

Some Bernard Hermann influences can be heard on the album, especially on the track "Fructus Gravis" which I was really shocked by because I never knew that Zimmer was a Hermann. Morricone and Vangelis yeah but never Hermann. I've seen the movie just once so I can't remember what score goes with what scene but I do remember that the adventurous "Chevaliers de Sangreal" was played for the last moments of the film, and some of that great solo viola stuff on a lot of the other tracks. Hopefully someday I'll get to watch the movie again and figure out which cue goes with what scene.

Definitely one of the best things to come out of 2006 and I dare anyone to listen to this album and not become a Zimmer fan. Hope he writes more great dramatic stuff like this and abandons the big loud repetitive action stuff if he ever wants to win another Oscar

I've always been a huge fan of Hans Zimmer and his work for this excellent film reminds me of why I love his work. I highly recommend this film score/sdtrk for any film score lover.

Though it contains none of the band's radio staples, No Code may be the one Pearl Jam record that holds up start to finish. Partly this is because of the songs, which like the hypnotic "Who Are You" are unusually straightforward. But it's also because this is the most musically varied effort of the band's career: "Hail, Hail" is a full-tilt firestorm, but the quiet "Sometimes" is a hesitating, slow burn. And while "Smile" has a Crazy Horse roar, the unplugged setting of "Off He Goes" lets the song breathe and the emotions sink in. --David Cantwell

Here it is...possibly the most complete Pearl Jam album. It's got rockers like "Hail, Hail" and "Habit", slow burns like "Present Tense", beautiful melodies like "Off He Goes", and flat out cool experimental tracks like "Who You Are". This album may not have Pearl Jam's biggest hits, but pop it in and you will be surprised how well it flows as a cohesive work. There is not a single skip worthy song. You won't find a "Jeremy" or "Alive" here, but give it a chance, this album will stick with you as a high point in Pearl Jam's catalog.

Compelling Branching Out.......2007-03-04

"No Code" was always going to be a difficult direction change for Pearl Jam. The album cuts out the majority of their typical grunge sound, and adds a more complex and genre mix-matching style. In essence, calling it the band's experimental searching album can sum it up.

The fact that PJ decided to branch out from their idiosyncratic 90s Seattle, a sound that they so heavily shaped, seems to me a good idea. I for one do not want to hear re-hashing. That is not to say that this album will not satisfy die-hard fans of the genre. The band still rocks out in style with heavy hitters such as "Hail, Hail", a ferocious song and Vedder's most "Ten"-esque vocal delivery. "Habit" is my other favourite of the hard rocking tracks, and again sees PJ hark back to their early 90's sound, fusing catchy choruses with distorted riffing and an overwhelming sense of urgency.

The biggest change in direction comes in the pop sensibility of the album. The writing is often very laid-back, in a kind of melancholy and introspective way, all the time retaining a heavy pop, even glam-pop at times, vibe. This is exemplified in tracks such as "In My Tree", which sports one of the band's most infectious vocal melodies to date, "Off He Goes" which has a very laid-back and drawn out Neil Young feel to it, and my personal favourite of the album "Present Tense", which slowly progresses a simple yet brilliantly poignant chorus. While PJ have always had a good ear for melody, the more popish songs on "No Code" see this aspect fully realised. At times these styled songs do not completely work, such as the rather lagging opener "Sometimes" and the rather sluggish and meandering "Around the Bend". But solid tracks such as "Who Are You", "Smile" and "Red Mosquito" keep the album flowing nicely, and make for a very solid release.

This album is best listened to with an open mind, perhaps even disregarding the fact that this is Pearl Jam, one of the key creators of the Seattle boom, and thinking of them as a pop-rock band. The songs constantly, ranging from hard rock to sombre folk to tribal middle-Eastern styling. Change can be good.

An unfairly treated gem by America's greatest rock band.......2006-10-09

Ok, so when No Code came out in 1996 Pearl Jam was walking a strange line. They had survived the death of "grunge" (a title which never really suited them anyway) and were still in fact one of the biggest bands in the world. Ten and Vs. had set the world on fire, and Vitalogy had been their most acclaimed album yet. The thing was... Pearl Jam didn't care. Eddie and the boys threw their hands at the mainstream again (refusing to make videos and fighting ticketmaster were earlier signs of a band who walked to a different drummer) and created No Code, an experimental masterpeice. No Code was an album the band WANTED to make, and did. While songs like "Hail, Hail", "Smile" and "Who You Are" became radio friendly, No Code failed to live up to previous albums successes. No Code would be Pearl Jam's least "successful" album to date. The band didn't care, and neither did I. "No Code" is almost beyond words. "Sometimes", "Red Mosquito", "In My Tree", and "Present Tense" are some of the best songs the band ever created. I'm hoping in the years to come that No Code will be recognized for it's brilliance, and I think that it will. While listening to Dad's old cd's, a young man/woman will find No Code and recognize the name Pearl Jam. He will listen to it, and he will feel what I feel. That No Code is perhaps the most underrated album of all time. Enjoy.

Like a fine wine, this one gets better with age.......2006-09-25

This album is not as bad as the critics hailed it to be. It certainly grows on you with each listen and was very much a cross over record for the band, showing a more relaxed, mature side to the band. And following the sales of the first 3 records the band earned the right to go down whatver path they pleased.

I would say this would have to be the most eagerly anticipated album of all time, in my opinion anyway. The bands popularity had reached enormous heights by the end of 1995 and I had just seen the band live for my first time so I couln't wait to get my hands on this album. Having got the merkinball EP as an appetiser I couldn't wait for the main meal, but at first listen I must say I was very disappointed. Where was the Pearl Jam I had grown to love and rocked hard? I asked myself... While there were a couple of songs I liked instantly, like Hail, Hail and red mosquito, this album spent a good couple of years collecting dust on my shelf. I thought the design of the album sleeve was ridiculous, this was 1996 remember and CD cases were standard, although now it seems all bands have adopted this new design.
So from memory I think it was Easter of 1999 that I really got into this album. Yield had already been released and I had seen the guys perform live once again. They played a few of the 'No Code' songs and they sounded great. Present Tense is by far the best song off the album, it starts off quite mellow before bulding into an in your face your knockout blow of a song. Other notable inclusions are Smile, Off He Goes and Around The Bend. This is very much Stone and Eddie's album and Stone even lends his vocal to a song 'Mankind' which is quite good.
In summary, this album stands very much on its own in the Pearl Jam catalogue. There are no others like it, and from time to time, it deserves a listen, because it signified a fork in the road of the Pearl Jam journey.

No Code, the Bright Red Line Between Classic Pearl Jam and Modern Pearl Jam.......2006-07-14

When the album first came out in 1996 I was disapointed. First, many songs had been leaked such as Red Mosquito and these songs did not live up to the standard carved out by classic Pearl Jam songs such as Go, Porch, etc. After a while, especially after hearing the songs in concert the album began to make sense. To date, my favorite song is Mankind. I think this is the only Pearl Jam song not sung by Eddie Vedder. Perhaps that novelty is the reason. Regardless, you will hear an organic sound to this album. Tribal drum beats from then drummer Jack Irons set this album apart from any other Pearl Jam album. 1996 also marked a tour that was Pearl Jam's first full US tour because the Ticketmaster conflict had ended. Prior to that year, most shows were either festival shows or one off productions from a local radio station. A new drummer, a new sound and a new focus on touring changed Pearl Jam forever. This album marks that change, so if you plan on seeing them in concert I suggest listening to this album first.

I just recieved my copy!This CD has all the Code Lyoko songs including the full version of the theme song!!!The song "Breakaway" is the full version(with words) of the music on Jeremie's alarm clock on the episode "A Great Day"

(I think) the song is known as the subsonics' theme song, but it's really called Breakaway

this CD does NOT have "14 Planet Net(Video)", as stated on the back of this CD,but still,Planet Net is the first song on the CD

Finally the long awaited album is here.......2007-06-11

I can't tell you how long I have been waiting for this album. Awhile ago I was told that this album would be released in the fall, but that was 2005. Anyways, the saying goes "Good things come to those who wait," and even though I, like many other fans, had quite a lengthy wait, I can honestly say that it was well worth it. If you want to spin something that is unadulterated pure fun from beginning to end, then look no further than this CD. This CD is guaranteed to get your feet tapping, body moving, and instantaneously lift your spirits. The only, and I mean only, problem I have with this CD is the album cover, which I fear may deter someone new looking into this band, but let me assure you that the cover, in no way shape or form is a representation of what is on the disc.

This is one of the best Juve CD's. The beats are fresh, with guest appearences from all of the hot boys. The production is very very good. Most people criticize this CD for not sounding like 400 while this CD is close to if not almost the same as 400 Degreez. The beats are straight up sick. Most people say that this CD talk s a lot about bling bling, no he doesn't most people criticize this CD without even listening, he talks about the G-Code and life in the projects. If you have known every Juvenile album everyone talks about something else. 400 is the most bumpable, and commercialized CD because of Back that @ZZ up. One of the top 3 Juvenile albums of all time next to 400 Degreez & Solja Rags.

1 year after he spit fire on the whole rap world wit 400 Degrees, Juve spit again wit the G Code. I get sit and damn tired of people dissin Juvenile, BG, Wayne, Luda, 36 mafia and other southern rappers. Give the folks they props mane. Its hard as hell to follow up a classic with a good CD, as 50 cent found out. How could somebody as simple, ghetto, and normal as juvenile do it? I have no idea. He is just one of those rappers who you keep listening to, like him or not, realize it or not.
Between the time the Biggie Smalls died and for the hit single "Ha" hit the radio, all other rappers were good, but nothing special about them. Hell the top rappers at that time were silkk tha shocker and DMx. Like I said good but not great.

Then some cat came from out of nowhere asking you a whole bunch of questions about everyday life. It seemed stupid at first. But after a while you said " Damn, Juvenile may been on to somethin". Then you find yourself buying his CD at Best Buy or Target instead from dude around the corna. Half way through the CD, you say " Damn, Juvenile on Fire (which is #17 on 400 degrees), but can he come out with another good CD?

Then he hit yo ass with G Code and you realize that he is a living legend. Not as explosive as 400 Degrees, but its hot enough to burn ya. Yes you will bump this everytime your in the hood, and yes u will find yourself buying other Juvenile albums.

All and all, great album by one of the all time greats.

But I have to also admit this cd sucks.
If you are late to the whole bling era like I was, DO NOT COPP this cd! Get BG's Chopper city in the Ghetto. That was at least 601 degreez.
I'm sorry. I'm a hardcore hotboys fan, but I will never think Juve is a good rapper. EVER! I will continue to copp his cds for collectors sake.

Im tired of people dissin southern rap. Now i Know that there arent a lot of lyricist but you gotta give credit where credit is due. These guys kik the real deal about their hood and to me the "realness" comes thru. At a time in rap where there are so many club and radio songs I greatly appreciate them sharing the struggles and ups and downs of project livin and story telling that has been missing since i would say the late 90's post biggie smalls-tupac murders. BUT , maybe you can't relate to it. Maybe you cant feel that fire that Mannie got. Maybe you just aint got no soul?

Doesn't Quite do Zimmer or Da Vinci Code Due Justice........2007-06-06

This particular music piece only caught my eye because it was music performed from the movie The Da Vinci Code. And of course, it didn't hurt that it was Hans Zimmer's music being played considering I am big fan of his work. But, do not let the title or group performing fool you. This is not a full orchestra, and I question as to whether I should even use the words orchestra here. I was excited about this particular work because I truly desire to hear a lot of Zimmer's music played free of synthesizers and performed by full orchestra, woodwinds, strings, brass, and all the free-ranging orchestrations, variations, and interpretations to his original work that has a chance to present itself. And this comes nowhere close. There are clearly synthesized strings, brass, and other miscellaneous instruments that are haphazardly thrown together, making it difficult at times to discern if the material is Da Vinci Code or not or even if an actual real instrument is included in the ensemble. Listening to this, I envision maybe 10-15 people standing on stage rotating between keyboards, maybe one violin/cello/bass on stage, and miscellaneous percussive items. I do admire the performers for their effort, but as a film score/classical fan, this one might not ever make it back to my CD player...EVER!

If you are looking for the full, beautiful sounds expected from an orchestra or similar to that of the soundtrack, this is not a good buy.

It should be noted that this is not the soundtrack to the movie. This is simply music from the movie... played by an excellent orchestra. Minor detail but it's missing a couple of tracks that the soundtrack has. However, if you're after the stirring music you heard during the movie, then this will not dissapoint you... and you'll save a couple bucks.

Code Red is by far the best JJFP album; the duo truly went out with a bang. Every track has a great summertime feel to it and is great to blast when you are going down the street in either a car or with a boom box. You can easily listen to all the tracks and press play again to hear the tracks all over again.

"Say Ho, Ho, Ho...now SCREAM!".......2005-07-29

I was hella lucky to find this, and got it at a hella nice used price. Needless to say, I got more than I paid for. This was Jazzy Jeff and FP's last full-length together. I'm assuming that this album was also a little different than their previous four.
Like many of the reviewers here have stated, you haven't lived until you've heard "I'm Looking For The One (To Be With Me)," which is undoubtedly the best cut from the cd. It's one of the smoothest songs I've ever heard, and invokes much nostalgia of similar early-90s music. In fact, JJ & FP freak a whole mess of smooth cuts throughout the album. The other ones are old-school homages. Pete Rock even produces a couple joints on here, so that should make your decision right there to check this out.
My other favorite song here is "Scream," which is precisely old-school and way too fun. Shouting along with that song in the car helped liven my mood a day after a rough breakup! Songs like this remind you that music doesn't have to be so complex to be memorable. A lot of timeless oldies are so because they were easy to sing along with or understand. A lot of these artists today seem to overlook this fact. "Shadow Dreams" is another great smooth cut, where the Prince details one of his personal philosophies on life without being preachy. "Something Like Dis" is a zany kickoff, while "I Wanna Rock" takes you to the very earliest days of Hip Hop.
Fresh Prince humbles himself on the standout, "Twinkle Twinkle (I'm Not A Star)," and I liked how Jazzy contributed to the chorus. "I Can't Wait To Be With You" is a solid romantic cut, and a rare collaboration between Rap and a deep-voiced R&B singer (Christopher Williams). "Boom (Shake The Room)" can get a little corny, but it's still fun and I like the newfound style that the Prince utilizes. "Code Red" is a claustrophobic bug-out moment, where Prince tells a story over a crazy beat. This story is much more mature than his past ones, and I like it. "Just Kickin' It" is smooth as I remember, but the one I can least recall, while the following "Ain't No Place Like Home" is a potential favorite. It gets a little sappy at the end, but overall it's message is 'to not take time with your family for granted'...not to often you get these messages in Hip Hop.
Overall, not a bonafide 5 star album, but possibly a dark-horse candidate for their best album together? "Code Red" definitely shows how they've evolved. Fresh Prince shows how you can kick the basics without having to be insulting or degrading. And his rapping represents the basics, not simplistic though, there's a big difference. At times, he flows at warp speed just for the fun of it, and shows how skilled of an MC he really is (contrary to uninformed opinions). The whole album is an exercise in old-school Hip Hop and smoothness, to say the least. Take this one, along with Will's newest "Lost and Found," and you have hours-on-end entertainment.

This was my first DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince album. It's quite different from their older albums, like He's the DJ, Rock the House, And in this corner because there's less of the funny and silly stuff. The best tracks here are Somethin' Like Dis, I Wanna Rock, Twinkle Twinkle, and Scream. Actually, at first I didn't like Somethin' Like Dis and found it really loud and annoying, but I grew to like it as will you. overall good album.

An underrated hip-hop classic!.......2004-06-07

This has got to be one of the most underrated hip-hop albums of all-time let alone in 1993. Around the early 90s, a new era of rap called "Gangsta Rap" began to take place. However, DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince continued to make music as they were against the gangsta rap music.

Code Red is JJ & FP's is by far their best album. The opening track "Somethin' Like Dis" is a track in which the old-school meets the new-school. "I'm Looking for the One(to be with me)" is not only my fav. song but a great song to listen to when hanging with people. "Twinkle Twinkle(I'm not A Star)" explains that even though Fresh Prince is a big rapper/actor, he is still the same person. "Shadow Dreams" features inspiring lyrics about never to give up your dreams and to keep aiming for them. "I Wanna Rock" is an old-school song in which JJ & FP take it back with DJ Jazzy Jeff just tearin' up the turntables. You also can't forget the 1993 hit "Boom! Shake the Room" which is an enery filled track full of adrenaline. That will definatly get a party going. The rest of Code Red is outstanding. A must for hip-hop fans who aren't brain-washed by today's mainstream trash. 5 stars!

A much more adult and mature cd then there past others, the track Boom! (Shake The Room) is a perfect farewell to their legions of fans. However I must say it is a good enough track that it should be on their greatest hits. Its popularity as a club smash made it the third rap cd to reach number 1 in the UK next to Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby and MC Hammer's U Can't Touch This (both of which were made popular off of sampling other artists instrumentals). If you are a Will Smith or Fresh Prince fan this is a must to own.

I don't care what anyone says about the current state of hip-hop. Album sales do NOT dictate what real music is, especially if you've been in the game 10 plus years. There's a clip on YouTube with Rae basically saying that he's not with the Jay-Z bandwagon. A lot of folks took it out of context. Anyway, with the mixtape,classic Rae at his best. Some of the songs are from other mixtapes, but they still tight. I have to get part 1 of the vatican mixtape. If you looking for that new york, new york state of mind type hip-hop, this is for you.

Raekwon's newest Mixtape is straight fire and is earning classic status among all the wise sages of hip hop. The god is dropping knowledge over some serious heated beats! With so much wackness in the hip hop game today, it's refreshing to see Masta Killa, Ghostface, and Raekwon bringing real hup hop back and getting NY back on top! Da Chef is back with a brand new mixtape for his fans who have been waiting for something new from Rae for the past 3+ years. With 19 songs/freestyles you get some of Rae to hold you over til he finally drops the long awaited "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... 2". Of the 19, about half dozen are 16 bar freestyles, guests rap songs on 4 and do the hook on 2 songs,and 3 of the songs on here are from other albums. Of the 19, 1 is a classic, 2 are near classic material, 5 are ok, the rest are good, a few are real good. A nice Wu album to add to the collection you should already have!
