ORPHAEA,which means "The Land of Great Musical Wisdom", is the new music sensation performing the highly orchestrated popular epic music of Michael V. Ippolito. The music combines innovative song composition with the organic sound of classical orchestration and the energy of popular rock and roll. ORPHAEA's first CD, "Princesse Rose", will be available in July 2004 and includes performances by Todd Herzog, Christopher Vincent, Tollak Ollestad and Rosemary Butler.

GREAT CD.......2004-07-20

I bought this cd for my mom b/c it sounded like something she would dig. She ended up raving about it to her book club friends. She played the cd all night when the book club meeting took place at her house and it turns out that six of her book club buddies bought the cd that week. Anyway, I am so glad that I bought this for her, it was completely on a whim and now it's a big hit. Great gift, thanks! Nikki

I loved this album -- Michael Ippolito is a rare talent and his musical genius and provocative lyrics will stir in the hearts and minds of his listeners for generations to come...

The depth and breadth of Ippolito's work should be noted -- certain pieces in this phenomenol musical panoply embody the beauty, symphonic composition and intensity of artists such as Andrew Lloyd Webber while others embrace the passion and rhythm of musicians such as Bruce Springstein --

This is a great CD! I really appreciated the different sounds. The vocals and words through out the CD are amazing! I would recommend this to anyone...there is a song and style for everyone on this CD.

Memorable melodies.......2004-06-21

I enjoyed the music and thought that the melody hooks were really great - they definietly pass the "can't get the song out of my head" test. I give it 4 stars because I thought some of the songs were too long and repetitious - not sure why the title track was first...some of the other songs like Unrestricted Entity, Cousin Fran and Legendary Mama might have been better first track choices.

The title of the album is actually, "Die Weiße Rose", and is a collaborative album with the French neo-classical group Régard Extrême. In my opinion, the sound of Régard Extrême is dominant in this album, with LJDLP's contribution mainly being their trademark drums (though minimal) and other martial zings over an ambient soundscape. Definitely a must-have for any LJDLP fan, which, if you're reading this, you probably already are. Prossibly their second best album, after their Blood Axis collaboration "Absinthe," though I'm undecided as of the time of this writing whether or not their double 10" picture vinyl "Croix de Bois; Croix de Fue" is better.
