5 out of 5 stars stunned and waiting...........2005-12-04

It continues to amaze me that no one has had the sense to latch on to this group and release their work stateside! Kashmir is such an amazing group who've shown growth every step of the way. The way they're able to meld solid, melodic song structure and, insightful lyrics with sonic experimentation is astounding! They could be HUGE here! The newest cd, No Balance Palace boasts contributions from Lou Reed and David Bowie and is produced by Tony Visconti. That would seem to be a pretty strong endorsement! Haven't heard it yet, but I'm expecting great things if the past is any indication. Seek out their previous releases, The Good Life and Kruzendential as well. Kashmir is worth it!

5 out of 5 stars Enough with the radiohead thing, this is an awesome album.......2005-05-19

I would just like to add a note to all of the comparisons to Radiohead, and unfair accusations of plagiarism of Radiohead: This album came out three months before Radiohead's Hail To The Thief, and could therefore hardly have appropriated any of it's tracks. Despite the reviewer's high opinion of the album (which was five stars), if you're going to accuse one band of copying another on a website that is probably one of their biggest outlets to the world outside Denmark, please, get your facts straight.

This album is amazing from beginning to end. My picks would be Melpomene, The Aftermath, and Petite Machine. Buy the album, and if you ever get the chance, see these guys live. They've been doing this for a long time, and they do it damn well.

4 out of 5 stars a-la Coldplay.......2004-12-15

Great sonics and musical intention, new pop a-la Coldplay, Blue Nile with interesting arrangements in strings and drum kit. Highly energetic in some tracks, cool new-stuff....

5 out of 5 stars This is really a masterpiece!.......2004-12-11

I first bought this cd because I saw the Rocket Brothers video on MTV. But when I started listening to it I realized that all the songs are equal or even better than that. This is one of my best CDs. I like a lot Radiohead and I know they sound like them, but who cares about that theyre a great band that make masterpieces. My favorite song is "Melphomene" it has one of the catchiest corus I have ever heard.

3 out of 5 stars good but boring.......2004-09-01

Oh, no. Why does it have to be?
Why does it have to be, that so many good and interesting rock bands turn into doing pointless mainstream radio pop (ok, maybe rock)?

This lovely Danish band had their debut album TRAVELOGUE on 1994. It didn't become an international cd. But it was really original, interesting and peculiar. And it was honest rock, quite hard, to add.
But what are they doing now, 10 years and 4 albums later? Boring radio-pop-rock. Like other hundreds and hundreds similar bands.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good album. Properly polished, with easily understandable tunes, just enough hardness, just enogh melancholy, just enough everything. And this is all that, that makes it too boring!

5 out of 5 stars Moving..........2005-12-29

I am one of those people that reads the reviews and uses them to know if to buy...this album is SO AMAZING that I have now written my first review.
Depending on where you are in your musical world's progression will determine your level of like...but for me this band is the soundtrack to my life.
A MUST LISTEN.

4 out of 5 stars Kashmir provides this Millenium its own real rock sound.......2005-02-17

Danish ensamble Kashmir , with kinda Radiohead influences progresive sound , abstract lyrics , elaborated and complicated structures both musical and words, they explore all the possible capacities for acoustical strings , guitars comes first and then bass guitar and drums last , the opposite to bands such as Radiohead and Coldplay that also use electronic sections and some artificial sounds, they try to be sublime also but in their own terms instead of electronic instrumentation they rather to use more traditional resourses, after all, real , truly real rock and roll will stand for strings, basses and simple drums as long as the sound that be developed with this, owns its particular sound, the mixture of guitar riffs or rithm section and sincronicity of these traditional instrumentation need to offer something new, well Coldplay, Radiohead and now Kashmir are from my perspective the three first bands to provide this decade an identity as in 60s, 70s , 80s , and 90s different bands have provided this decades different soundtracks , lets see if this bands have more to offer or if the promisse will be not acomplish

5 out of 5 stars Zitilites+bonus track.......2004-03-09

Why should you buy this record instead of the "original" Zitilites album??? Is the one bonus-track really worth so much... Is it not only slightly altered???? no... It is a live version of The Aftermath, where you can really sense the vibe from Kasper Eistrup and their perhaps best concert ever... live from Roskilde in front of 35000 people... so Kashmir are really in the mood here.. and I really understand why they have put this track on the jap-edition... because it is such a good track that you almost want to buy the album merely because of this track... I have the "original" zitilites-album which came out in shops 03/03/03... and when I heard that the bonus track on the jap-edition was The Aftermath (live) I just had to buy it... because I remember the best concert in my life...

Buy this album... and you will not regret it...

see ya

5 out of 5 stars Elite European Rock.......2004-02-12

If it wasn't for "Hail to The Thief", "Zitilites" would be the best record of 2003. This album is the perfect European rock album which combines power, quality performance and nostalgia to create a beautiful expression of art.
