Band coming from Clermont-Ferrand in France, AWACKS offers us an excellent power Progressive heavy-metal music, which can be put in the same category as MANIGANCE's one. Self-taught, the musicians aren't beginners, as they have been playing as a cover-group since 1989. The idea of recording original compositions in studio had already been in their mind for a while, but since this kind of project requires a lot of time, money and experiences, they had to wait almost ten years before catching the opportunity to record their first disc ! "Panorama" (1999) turns out to be an excellent album of melodic AOR. Recorded four years later on the Brennus label, "Atmosphere 136" provides this time a more contrasted music, a lot more polished than its predecessor's one. You can't miss this !
