Customer Reviews:
I LOVE Shoeless Joe.......2004-04-29
This is their first cd, and I love it! It's fairly mellow, but it really sticks with you. Their second CD is much harder, but still excellent, definitely recommended. They have changed their name to Vegas Temper for all their original stuff now, and they are great to see live! Keep your eye on these guys, they will be big!
Shoeless Joe - Solo.......2000-08-16
Shoeless Joe make an impressive attempt to break through to the mainstream on their sophmore effort, Solo. Guitarist James Wesley Smith leads the way with an assortment of dynamic guitar arrangements, backed by your run of the mill rhythm section. Lead singer Chris Taylor's vocal style is one that takes some time to grow on you. He has a great rock n' roll scream, and good melodic sensabilities, but sometimes will reach for notes that he would be better off avoiding. As with one of their apparent influences Van Halen, the singer and guitar player overwhelm the bass and drums, as you hear virtualy no breaks on the album that showcase the latter two instruments. Unfortunately, this album is too classic rock to appeal to the younger audience the mainstream targets, but makes a great listen for 70's and 80's classic rock fans. Not a band you would ever see on MTV's TRL, but it seems Shoeless Joe is content with their position as a great local band for thirysomethngs.
Shoeless Joe Rocks!.......2000-03-29
My husband and I saw them live at "The Yard" (Manchester NH) They were fantastic! They did a mix of songs from Solo and cover tunes..Its our opinion that we got to see live one of the next *super star* rock groups..get the CD now before its a collectors item.
Play it Again.......2000-01-22
Bet you can't listen just once. This band, without question, has talent. The songs have both the sound and feel of classic rock and the newness of hard edge pop. Do your self a favor and give it a listen. Then play it again.
Play It Loud.......2000-01-06
Something for everyone on this CD. Slow down and mellow out, or rock your socks off. With some CDs you have to skip around to hear your favorite tunes, with this one, you don't mind listening to all the songs to get to the one that you like. A lot of talent in this band. I would love to see them live. Crank up the volume for maximum enjoyment.
