Album Description

When Tim Armstrong (Rancid) first heard the classic, low-slung punk of The Heart Attacks, he fell in love. With a sound that nods back to the Dead Boys and the New York Dolls, this band has inspired the same reaction at sweaty shows from Boston to Florida, at Warped Tour dates in 2005 and 2006, and from their many fans in hometown Atlanta. On this release, longtime fan Joan Jett added her trademark growl to the punked-out doo-wop of "Tear-Stained Letter". Produced by Lars Frederiksen (Rancid) and engineered by Michael Rosen (Green Day).

This IS Rock & Roll!.......2007-02-09

This is probably the best release of 2006. These guys play stripped down, straight up Rock & Roll in the likes of the Heartbreakers, Dead Boys, and a touch of Hanoi Rocks. Who said glam punk was dead? Punk rock has become too watered down and distorted in the last 10 years, but these boys go back to it's roots. I just saw them live amongst an unappreciative crowd, but they still played L.A.M.F.!! Go get this album!!!

For all you Thunders fans..........2006-12-18

...this one is for you. The type of music here is very rock n roll type punk, in the vein of Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers. The songs are varied enough to keep the entire album from feeling too monotonous. Joan Jett even sings a duet on the album. I can't believe nobody has reviewed this album yet. You got tons of attitude, swagger, and the musical chops to back it up.

Atlanta 77 Punk coming up.......2005-11-12

I bought the cd at one of their shows and it is constantly in my cd player.I've had about nine people ask to burn it and gotten quite a few "Who are these guys?" when playing it in my car. If you like old 70's punk rock these guys deliver and kick in a dose of straight rock'n'roll. Do yourself a favor and support these guys instead of the hundreds of other "punk" bands seen on tv. This is where it's at.

for this Long Island hard core band. I first caught wind of them when they were called the Heist and had just a demo and could tell then that there was something special here. If you've never heard SAHA before think Panic mixed with later period Unbroken and you have the idea. The layout is great too. Plus they are labelmates with BRAND NEW!

all the good things a cd needs.......2003-10-22

this is one of the newer bands out there that has a real sense of what has become before. They respect the hardcore scene and have taken all the good aspects of what has come previously and threw it all into this record as well as putting their own spin on things. This is definitely not every other cd you have, it is fresh, it is new and it is good.
This album is a must have!!

Another Good Aussie Band.......2006-05-24

Heard 'Promise Me' on Liberation Music (AU) website. Really dug that! Really not my exact type of music (I'm old), but this CD really cranks for a bunch of young dudes. My 12 yr old is listening to stuff like Brand New, and of course AC/DC and GNR etc. He really likes it too! I'm more of a Stereophonics, White Stripes, GNR, Velvet Revolver type, (variety is the key, right?) but I really like this CD. It's kinda hard to find, like none, on ebay, but it's well worth your 10 bucks or whatever!

the pride of south australia.......2005-11-01

The Hot Lies are biding their time before they become the next big thing. They could probably be described as Australia's answer to The Used, but I would suggest theres a little more Matchbook Romance in them than the Used. South Australia is known not to produce too many class acts these days (apologies to Hilltop Hoods) but this is 1 band that is going to hit the big time if they continue to improve.

Their live show is exceptional - I saw them as the local band at the Taste of Chaos concert and they matched it with everyone except probably for the Used. That's a big call for the talent that was there (funeral for a friend, rise against and story of the year).

Lead singer and journo Peter Wood is not about to win Australian Idol but his voice is more than competent and he doesn't go overboard on the screaming. Vocals are well backed up by the bass player and both guitarists appear to have talent. 1st single Promise Me is an uptempo and catchy song that has been given commercial radio play, but has not been softened so much that could cost them from their original fan base. I recommend you get into this band before they become internationally famous and you can say you knew them from the beginning.

all are good songs I don't skip through any but theres enough variety there too. But if u enjoy Promise Me then you are probably going to like all 5 songs.

this is the second EP released by the Hot Lies following Bullets and Blacklines which i also recommend. The only bad thing about the cd is theres only 5 songs but as it only set me back $10 you cant really complain.

Look out for other south australian music acts Foreshore, Wolf and Cub and the Pharaohs and with a little more support maybe we can deliver a few more talents.

The Hayden Style.......2000-07-03

Hayden's lyrics really stand out. He has a talent for combining words and isn't afraid of being emotional. My favourite track is "Best Friends". I hummed the tune to that track for days.

Feeling from the heart............2000-06-29

Timothy plays his music from the heart and you can feel it by listening to his songs. His lyrics are masterfully crafted with songs full of powerful feeling followed by a wonderful guitar melody. You can listen to this over and over and still find something new. Enjoy

So much emotion, I await the next..........2000-06-27

Original acoustic folk music with a writing that begs the listener to FEEL the words. This is not the type of album that can be easily dismissed. The words seem to come from someone with diverse life experiences and acquaintances. The people we are introduced to (in "Others") and the artists thoughts about the people around him (like in "Best Friends") comes across in this album so well. I genuinely await the next release with much anticipation.

I purchased Little Heart Attacks in a local music shop on the recommendation of the proprieter. After a few listens - I got online and started searching for another CD from him and I ended up here. I haven't found a second one yet, but I plan to keep looking!

Timothy Hayden-Storyteller.......2000-06-27

I thoroughly enjoyed this CD. Tim's music is the sit, listen and focus on the words type. The kind you once heard at a rememberable and intimate, fireplace lit, coffeehouse somewhere else while on vacation in a place no one knew you. His music and storytelling relates to all. Tim is a master at capturing life's lessons in simple, yet poignant ballads. He reminds us who we once were, who we are, and who we'd like to be; where we once were, where we are, and where we'd like to go. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is experiencing life while making other plans.

Not what I expected.......2000-09-30

This compilation does not contain titles of real hit movies. It contains mostly sentimental or comic songs from old movies and even from the ones I managed to recognise only a handful were original. It struck me hard to find "Enae Volare" from "Les Visiteurs", the only title I ordered this compilation for, terribly altered but that might concern me alone. Finding "What a Feeling" from "Flashdance" similarly altered made me wonder... later, on the back of the box, I found a small note saying, as I could decrypt from French, that the songs in the album were not necessary original. I should've been warned about this in advance!
