Customer Reviews:
Best studio album in years!.......2004-11-06
Millbrook USA is Golden Earring's latest (February 2003) album, and widely regarded as the best studio album since Bloody Buccaneers (1991), and I personally think it's much better than Paradise In Distress. This, like most of their albums, is an expensive import from Holland, but if you're a fan, it's certainly worth it. After Paradise In Distress, this release was as another reviewer put it, simply refreshing. No horns or sound effects this time around, just straight up rock 'n roll. Back to the old days of albums like Bloody Buccaneers and Together. "Better Off Dead", "The Last Frontier Hotel", "A Sound I Never Heard", "Albino Moon", and "Hammer Of Love are now vital Earring staples.
According to the item description, this comes with a short DVD, but keep in mind that it's PAL format and is incompatible with North American DVD players, although I *believe* you can play it on your PC, but you'd have to check to make sure.
I also recommend buying Last Blast Of The Century (also pretty expensive), a two disc live album. It has some tracks from Paradise In Distress, but they're superior to their studio counterparts.
