The tribute to the 250th anniversary of Wolfgang's birth continues, and this two-disc set is perfect for those who want to like classical music and insist they can't. The 34 tracks sound familiar because they have been used in popular films, either as incidental music or as an important component of the score. And we're not just talking Amadeus, but films that you may be surprised used such memorable music ... Mission Impossible, There's Something About Mary, Runaway Bride, Trading Places, Miss Congeniality, The Living Daylights. The works are performed by the finest, including James Galway, Alban Berg Quartett, Riccardo Muti, Dame Felicity Lott, Sir Neville Marriner, Herbert Von Karajan and Martha Vineyard's Andre Previn. Pretty classy indeed.

Club Foot Orchestra, always great.......2007-06-02

I used to live in San Francisco and saw Club Foot Orchestra a few times. Their performances and arrangements always showed imagination and taste. If you like Nino Rota, and great swing era jazz, or sixties film scores, or just great music, you'll be pleased to own this recording.

Fabuloso!!.......2002-03-13

This was an obscure disc I found in a shop in Winter Park, FL. Being a Nino Rota fan, I bought it unheard and I'm so glad I did. This turned out to be a terrific set of Rota fiilm music. Alternately dreamy and intense, it perfectly captures the manic 60s swingin sounds that Rota put into Fellini's best films. Superb music and performances all around!

"Trash Can" is a non-album track only found on this CD-Single. "Reason is Treason" is actually a different version/remix of the album version, and in my opinion, is better.
The videos are cool too.

The ONLY sountrack I ever want to hear for Metropolis.......1998-11-10

I got to hear this performed live in New York (with the Giorgio Moroder print) and was delighted they had done justice to this magnificient silent film. The Club Foot Orchesta score has a slightly Avant-Guarde flavor that feels perfectly appropriate for the vision that the film embodies and the cultural ferment from which it emerged. You'll never listen to the moth-eaten organ or pop/schlock soundtracks again.

"In The Broken Fields Where I Lie" is the second solo CD release from renown Bay Area composer/multi-instrumentalist Beth Custer. Her sublime, lyrical mastery of clarinets, as well as works on piano, organ, keyboard, sampler, toy piano is much in evidence here, as is a solid, widely varied collection of her compositions for film, theater, dance, and the concert stage. -live tracks from Custer's Vinculum Chamber Concerts. Held in the Marin Headlands Art Center during her 1998 residency, these pieces unite traditional and experimental instruments

Eighties Syndrome.......2006-08-18

I loved Walter Rossi's 1st 3 Records.A mix of stunning guitar fretwork combined with emotional ballads and a Latin mix.However,One foot in Hell was made during the Heydey of New Romantics music (Duran Duran/Ultravox etc), and this album I am sad to say will bring back memories of that era (i.e. the tinny keyboards,the electronic sounding drums and the backing female vocals (I imagine them wearing Skin tight spandex and with Farrah Fawcett type hairstyles).This album is geared towards commerciality. Its one saving grace is the awesome Title Track.
It starts off in a slow lazy mood and then bursts into fantastic heavy rifferama.The keyboards and drums on this track
are also thankfully back to how they should sound.The better songs on this CD are the slower ballads that dont have that New Romantics feel.You look at the scene during this period. Other great Hard Rock Canadian acts like Triumph,Frank Marino and even Rush fared a similar fate.The music had to relate to the times, and the mid 80s were one hell of a bad era for Classic Hard Rock.
