Product Description
Five teenagers intent on carnage, a single that sums up their manifesto for life & a sound that can only de described as a mini-riot. This is Agent Blue with their awesome single 'Sex, Drugs & Rocks Through Your Window'. Mixing the inner city tensions of 70's punk with a loud, bombastic backdrop of angry, snarling 21st Century noise - this is the sound of youth gone wild. Agent Blue make a racket that sounds as if The Cooper Temple Clause had listened to more from The Jam & less Primal Scream. Short, sharp, shock treatment from the best new band in Britain. The title track is b/w 'Blood On The Walls' & 'Kisses'. Fierce Panda. 2004.

5 out of 5 stars Reppin for Savannah.......2005-08-26

I moved to Washington, DC from Savannah. I used to hang out with 'flauge alot, until he got paranoid and rich and moved to Richmond Hill. Then when he was out in front of Pure Pain, he got shot and when I heard about it I broke down. Anyway, he is one of my favorite rappers of all time. This is a wonderful CD if you like real southern rap. It's not filled with candy and sugar like Nelly, or anything like that. It's real, and it's hard.

5 out of 5 stars Camouflage...as real as they come.......2004-12-10

'Flage really put out a good album in "Strictly 4 da Streets." Almost every song is filled with nice beats, great flows, and lyrics that let you know he's from "da streets." Too bad it was his last album before he was murdered. Definitely pick this one up if you want to hear how the Dirty South movement is supposed to sound.

(...). I'm a big fan of Camoflauge. I moved from Savannah to Jacksonville with my mother, and I'm always asking my people to send me a copy of a Camoflauge record. My favorite song is I let rounds go, and if i can get a copy of that CD i will be fine. I'm always talking about him here and no one thinks he's that good of a rapper but I do. I grew up with Flauge, "thats what6 we called him for short" I use to live with him in the projects. I wanted him to get big but things happen for a reason.

what the christ is wrong with you people? why don't you already own this album? why are you even reading this review? you should be clicking the purchase button on your computer screen. if you've ever liked nirvana... if you've ever liked weezer... if you've ever known obnoxious kids who love anti social rock music... BUY THIS ALBUM NOW! it will be one of the wisest purchases you've ever made. One of the best CDs you could possibly spen your money on. I've lost this album several times and have been lucky enough to find a replacement copy each time. I used to listen to this album over and over again. and i mean as soon as the last traces of feedback disappeared after the anthemic superpowered, i would instantly press the play button on my CD player, and listen to it all again. the production quality of this album can only be compared to the flawless nevermind. whatever this band may lack, they are still five million times better than half the other rock bands polluting the airwaves of modern mainstream rock. so what are you waiting for? why are you reading this review? BUY THIS ALBUM AND DIE HAPPY!

5 out of 5 stars Legendarily filthy.......2005-05-08

Those of you who cannot or do not appreciate sexist, misogynist and juvenile humor should stay away from this album. For everyone else, The Mentors are the Beatles of depraved, filthy music - they are unquestionably the best there has ever been in this genre, and the best there ever will be. While The Beatles had "A Day in the Life" as their magnum opus, the Mentors have "Goin' Through Your Purse". Like "A Day in the Life", this song tells a story. It is a cautionary tale about what happens to groupies who are a little too anxious to sleep with the Mentors. Another song by The Mentors is "Woman from Sodom". This song is reminscent of the Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", except that instead of holding a girl's hand, the Mentors want to have butt sex. Finally, the Mentors' analog to the Beatles' "Taxman" is "Peeping Tom". The protagonist of the Mentors song, instead of collecting taxes, looks in the windows of unsuspecting women and then masturbates. Other similarities to the Beatles abound. For example, both El Duce and John Lennon died prematurely. Both the Mentors and the Beatles have made movies. The Beatles made "A Hard Days Night" and "Help!", while the Mentors starred in the Gary Pressman oevre, "The F**k Movie". And while The Beatles were featured on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Mentors were frequent guests on The Wally George Show. You really should buy this album. If the music doesn't inspire you, at least you'll have a few good belly laughs

5 out of 5 stars Long live the legend of El Duce.......2005-01-27

Who was the bigger nut job? GG Allin or El Duce? Its really hard to say. although El was alot more light hearted thatn GG, Where GG Just hated everyone, El Duce seemed to be a bit more socal. But enough of that, the point is that this Album is about as rock and roll as it gets. El Duce was a an old, fat, drunk, sexually perverted, smelly, ugly, punk rocker for those of you who have never heard of him. He played the drums and was the lead singer for the mentors, until his alcoholism caught up with him one day, and the band was forced to hire a new drummer so El could just sing. He died in 1997 from getting hit by a train in a blur of drunkerdness, But its said by few that he was murdered by the infamous Allen Wrench the same guy that Supposedly murdered Kurt Kobain. After El Duce told somone he thought Allen Wrench might have murdered Kurt, He got hit by that train pretty quick, so who knows...

Long live the legend of El Duce.

5 out of 5 stars All Hail El Duce!!.......2004-12-06

Man I loved that guy. I never got to see them live so I am somewhat of a loser, but my God what a talented and unappreciated artist. El Duce is the Salvador Dali of music.

With juvenille lyrics, buzzing guitars and a powerfully crushing drummer, The Mentors had the rock world by the balls, well at least they should have. This album takes you to the beginning of The Mentors legend and if you ain't never heard them, well get out the skateboards and head to that bridge under the freeway. Play this along with S.O.D. and you got a certified Skate Rat Party in the making.

R.I.P. El Duce, we hardly knew ye.

5 out of 5 stars El Duce-- the Man, the Myth, the Legend.......2001-10-25

What can I say that hasn't been said over and over again? El Duce, Sickie Wife-beater and Dr. Heathen Scum made up one of the most legendary rock trios of all time. What failed in musician-ship (though Sickie is a SMOKING guitarist) was more than made up for by the sheer magnitude of sleeze and machismo that will ooze from your speakers every time you put this choice cut of top notch rock on your turn-table. Simply put, if you don't like the Mentors and this album, if you don't strive in everyday life to meet the standards set by this music, if you don't ask yourself at least once every hour, "How can I be more like El Duce?" you are, quite simply, not a man.

4 out of 5 stars Old Mentor's and revised.......2000-05-21

Well back in 1989 The Mentors went into the studios and created this album. When it came out on cassette side 1 was 8 tracks of The Mentors originally recorded back in 1979 and a young El Duce was just starting to get his classic rough voice that many Mentor fans came to love in the years later. Side 2 of the recordings in some ways was The Mentors updating there early Mystic records anti New Wave songs for the new stream of teeny pop glam rock metal bands of the day.

A prime example is from the song Get Up and Die! "Cinderella, Motley Crue and Poison... I wanna see them get run over by a steam roller... YEAH! "

I saw these guys in the last Seattle performance and if never saw them you missed out, but if you think there music was something. There live shows where a blast, especially the wrap up parties.

So all HAIL The Sleaze Kings of Rock and R.I.P. Duce.

5 out of 5 stars great rap metal.......2003-06-22

Ah, the Phunk Junkeez at their finest hour! This album contains many underground tunes to bump in your trunk, from songs like "Short Term Memory Loss" "American Pimp" "Innovator" and "Strugglin'". This album also has a special appearance by Sen Dog of Cypress Hill, and that track is mad phat. This CD will leave rap metal/bubble gum icons like Fred Durst and Kid Rock crying back home!

5 out of 5 stars Junkeez rock.......2001-10-03

I have been a Junkeez fan for quite some time. This band never ceases to amaze me. Each cd that comes out gets better and better. I can't get enough of Sex Drugs and Rap 'N Roll. This CD is great for road trips. It is one of those that you don't have to skip songs on. Keep in mind that it is not for the faint at heart. If you are in to the rap and roll thing, this cd is for you. The Junkeez have been doing it for awhile and they just keep getting better and better.

5 out of 5 stars LIMP BIZKIT WISH THEY WERE THE PHUNK JUNKEEZ.......2001-07-30

So you like Limp F'n Bizkit? Why dont you stop letting your mommy dress you and listen to some real Trip Hop. Let me tell you this, if Fred Worst is the spokesman for our generation, then we are all totally f!?ked. Thank God for the Phunk Junkeez. As a fan since 95, I can say only Faith No More can even hold a candle to the PJ. These guys have been doing what all the "rap rock" bands ahve been trying to do since the late 80's. And Sex, Drugs, Rap and Roll once again proves that they are one of the few who can do it. Limp Bizkit be damned. Soulman could take Fred Worst to shool on sundays. The music these gus shell out doesn't ever get old. Then throw the smooth lyrics by Soulman and you have what becomes a trip hop masterpiece. These guys are the one of the last non-conformist bands around besides deftones, (hed)pe, tool and a select few others. And while PJ may not have much musicly in common with those bands, they, like the others, will never lay down for a quick buck. Buy this album. Buy this and Phunk Junkeez (self-titled debut), Injected and Fear of a Whack Planet. Buy them all, and then bask in the glory of a band who makes the music that all the main stream "rap rock" bands wish they could. Like Soulman says, "Even when I'm sleepin, I'm keepin it real..."

5 out of 5 stars JUNKEEZ creating the master RapnRoll album.......2001-01-18

Blending Phunk with adrenaline fueled rock and insane lyrics from Soulman, blazing guitar by newcomer danny P. I listen to this album over and over again each time picking up new hints of percussion, mixes of live drums, samples, sythns, drum loops, d.j. scratces .. The JUNKEEZ have put out thier best effortyet. Blending the originality and PHUNK of thier first album, the harder edge of INJECTED and the Grooves of "fear of a Whack Planet" the JUnkeez have created a RapnRoll masterpiece!

5 out of 5 stars The WideBoy Poet.......2002-04-06

Ian Dury was one of those rarities - with acute vision of his culture and an ability to express it with humane humour. But genius was not enough - he needed a vehicle to carry his poetry to the people. His vehicle was musical collaborator Chaz Jankel - a gifted musician and producer. He managed to translate Dury's left of centre lyrics into infectious rhythms and seductively simple tunes over an eclectic range of musical styles. The two together were magic - separate they descended to the mundane - and Dury - like other genius could be guache to awful when he wasn't being brilliant. This album celebrates much of Dury's best work and just one or two bits of "Craggy on the Waggy".

5 out of 5 stars Sly lyricist with a calculatedly common touch.......2000-07-24

Ian Dury wrote lyrics that told stories about British life (in particular, Cockney life). He was a songwriting genius, although his insistence on avoiding pretensions and affecting a common touch tended to deprive him of serious recognition as a lyricist. In addition he put together a tight band of good musicians, sometimes funk-flavored, sometimes barely noticeable behind the stories told in Dury's songs. He was a brilliant man who died too soon. This collection of his few British hits includes some B-sides, which are especially memorable and may be unfamiliar to the US audience. There is relatively little overlap between this CD and Dury's various albums; and his later work (which was musically disappointing) is not represented.

5 out of 5 stars Gone but keeps trucking.......2000-04-20

Ian sold London. We have all heard of the songs celebrating San Fransico, Los Angeles and Memphis (Mott the Hopple!) but Ian celebrated his home turf and more importantly spurned a generation who did the same. Madness it may be, without him there would not be Madness. Ian celebrated life, regardless of the infirmities it brings - even those that are not deserved. Death where is your Sting ? (no that should be Suggs)

      5 out of 5 stars He'll be missed!.......2000-03-29

Aw, now this just isn't fair, Ian Dury dying. Here's one guy from the "new wave" days who was provocative, but in the way that British music hall "bawdy ditties" or Benny Hill were provocative. Naughty, but with a lot of humor and heart. This compilation only scratches the surface ("Dance Of The Crackpots" and "Spasticus Autisticus" are two songs that really should've been included), but you get everything else that made Dury great, including "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick," "Billerickie Dickie," "Superman's Big Sister" and---what else?---"Sex & Drugs & Rock 'N Roll, " a major anthem of the past century. Ta, mate, you'll be missed!

4 out of 5 stars I enjoy Ian Dury but.......1999-09-09

he is inconsistent. The first few tracks are 5 stars but the remainder is spotty. Good for a laugh as well.

true... I know a bit of the history, but I don't care. This is the first "Christian Death" album I ever heard, and it is a phenomenal masterpiece. If the band name was stolen or not, it doesn't change the fact that it's great. A bit down the road, I picked up Iron Mask, where Rozz sings... I thought it was terrible. Count me in the Valor camp. Great music, and intelligent lyrics, and this one is a classic!

2 out of 5 stars NOT Christian Death.......2005-03-28

This isnt Christian Death. there is no Christian Death Without Rozz. Period. i gave it one 2 stars only because This is Heresy is actually a decent song.

1 out of 5 stars THE DEATH OF CHRISTIAN DEATH.......2003-01-21

This is the album that killed Christian Death and these are the reasons why:
      1.Rozz is gone
2.Valor is the lead singer on most of the songs (and he has a terrible voice)
      3.The album was poorly recorded
4.Valor's lyrics are all about sex and religion
Valor doesn't understand what the band was about. The name of the group was supposed to shock people, but Valor took the name seriously and turned it into a metal band.

5 out of 5 stars my first contact with CD.Pain and pleasure with listenning.......1998-11-17

It's a strange impression to hear the intro of "Wretched mankind" for the first time.I have discovered a world of desolation.

4 out of 5 stars A stunning goth classic, no matter how you rewrite history.......2005-04-25

Love it or hate it, S&D&JC is the album that established Valor as a creative auteur of his own making. There are no remnants of Rozz's early band here - this is simply a punk and hard-rock infused goth album that is alternately rocking, danceable, funny, creepy, and thought-provoking.

However, this particular edition is somewhat lacking. If possible, stick to the 1995 reissue on Jungle from the UK, which has all of the tracks here plus the Gitane number "Jesus, Where's the Sugar?" (curiously left off of this edition), plus the tracks from the B-side of the concurrent "What's the Verdict" single, "Ketzerei" ("Heresy" in German) and "This Is Not Blasphemy," another bluesy Gitane number. Also, "Ten Thousand Hundred Times" here is not the original version - it sounds as if it has been replaced by a newer, possibly live version.

The remastering here is a bit overzealous, as well. Whereas some of the other Cleo/Candlelight editions sound stunning (i.e. Catastrophe Ballet or Atrocities), the bass is too deep here and it distorts the music on most normal stereo set-ups.

Never mind the contingent of the goth subculture who categorically deny some of the Christian Death albums out of some sort of principle based on something that happened 20 years ago of which they weren't even a part -- S&D&JC and other latter-day Christian Death albums have been a fundamental part of the musical tapestry for decades. They're not going to go away now, nor do they necessarily deserve to. Anyone who's ever danced to "Sick of Love" or "Church of No Return" or "Incendiary Lover" understands why.

5 out of 5 stars An Amazing Atmospheric Album.......2004-08-14

Unlike the trash that most surf rock Goth kids enjoy, this album takes a slower more thought out view of things. Full of genuine masculine vocals, rich ambient noise, heavy bass lines, and sincere guitar playing. This album will lull you into a trance. It takes you into a haunted house of really creepy noise and angry voices always with a bit of humor and sarcasm. Gitane Demone female vocalist of Christian Death adds a wonderful sexual touch into this dark cauldron of hatred and frustration towards the meek and weak minded. This is a really great album meant for the activist mind. This album reveals something new with each listen. If you are looking for catchy pop that sounds old before the record is over buy The Iron Mask.

1 out of 5 stars God this sucks!.......2004-01-24

Valor, real name Skippy, is NOT the real singer of Christian Death. The only REAL Christian Death is with ROZZ WILLIAMS; I don't care WHAT Gitane DeMone's reason's for staying were; NOTHING justifies having your name on this piece of s***! Skippy's voice is godawful; his lyrics are worse than that; the music is absolute trash; [ I'm sure Gitane would agree!} the band sounds as if they don't know how to play! Do yourself a favor: unless the album is Rozz Williams/C. Death like Only Theatre of Pain, Path of Sorrow, Ashes, or says " C. Death featuring Rozz Williams ", don't waste your money OR 30- 45 min. { felt like hours } of your life on this dreck.
