About the Artist
In 1998, The three original members, Ethan Anderson, Levi Ware and Daryl Kikuchi, began writing and performing original compositions under the name "A Bird of Passage". Honing their sound and touring as members of the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA), a college music and entertainment organization, the group also began to become known in such states as Arizona, California and Colorado among others. The band received some great news from across the country in early 2001, as "Mood Change of Season" received national acclaim: a nomination for 2000 Album of the Year by Rolling Stone writer PJ Gach in New York City's Village Voice Paz and Jop poll.

Now called Vast Capital, the group concentrates on promoting their album to the 'vast capitals' outside of their native Seattle.

4 out of 5 stars A bargain collection of showtunes.......2005-08-19

This bargain collection of showtunes is highlighted by the composition of Kurt Weill and the uniquely rolling tongue of Colette Lyons. I have a complaint about this compilation. It includes "Ol' Man River", but it excludes Al Jolson's rendition of "Ol' Man River." Otherwise, this collection gives you ample bang for your buck.

    3 out of 5 stars What the...........2006-01-21

okay,This album Sucked!!Ethan, man, what happen?what happen to the old sound and name?I enjoyed that era.I think everyone did...but still, people support my boy and buy this cd even if it sucks.

5 out of 5 stars The next big thing..........2004-05-19

Vast Capital not only tries, but succeeds in blending beautiful harmonies, tight guitar licks and meaninful lyrics on their debut album. Those that know and love them will tell you that this not, in fact, their debut album but their third (the first two released under their former name, A Bird Of Passage). Levi Ware (guitar, bass, vocals), Ethan Anderson (guitar, bass, vocals and a variety of other instruments) and Daryl Kikuchi (guitar, bass, vocals) all have amazing song writing ability, and as you might notice, all contribute greatly to the sound that is Vast Capital. Let's not forget the man with the beat, Steve Barci on drums. Barci ignites energy to the VC sound that reminds this reviewer of Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam and the late Soundgarden). VC might not have that staple Seattle sound like the former, but rest assured, they have all the elements of a great band. VC successfully blend 70's funk, traditional blues, rock n roll and handful of old Motown groove. Stand out songs on What More Else include Smile, Ending to Another Day, Easily, Blue Skies and the funk infused Real as it Feels. Since You've Been Gone is a bonafied ballad about a missing a loved one that's sure to bring a tear to the driest of eyes. The final track, Thank You, might best demonstrate the vocal ability and range of Ware, Anderson and Kukuchi as they harmonize (CSNY come to mind) through lyrics like, "don't ever be complacent, for in this lack of action your spirit is forsaken...". What More Else is a must have of any music lover in the Northwest. I suggest catching these guys at your local club venue before the rest of the country takes notice. Vast Capital are bound for greatness.
