Benchmark
PinchMe Records

If this doesn't shed the 'local band' tag then nothing is gonna. The 'Nibbers have dropped an album of world class, driven by some awesome song writing, melodic sensibilities and bull-headed determination. The real star is undoubtedly Sam Peterson's rich vocals, sounding equal parts like the Deftones' Chino Moreno and Creed's Scott Stapp (and I mean that as an emphatic compliment, believe it or not). Firmly planted in modern metallic rock, Benchmark is at times reflective other times just flat out rocking, but always deeply emotive. Where it really sets the benchmark though is the production value, sounding equally as good as anything with a major label logo on it, Benchmark has well and truly raised the bar for how good independent bands can sound. EquiNiBriuM have arrived at the next level.
