Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Slick debut from Auckland pop group Pluto who have been singled out by media and musicians as potential rockstars. Pluto began in 1994 and have since been through a change in line up and name. Also, a hectic tour of Germany and brief stint of writing in London. Since returning to the shores of New Zealand they have toured with Neil Finn, released their debut album and have been penciled in for a tour with Bic Runga later in the year. As an album red-light syndrome is an idyllic pop triumph that carries a British indie flavor. Each song holds it weight with tight melodies and a depth sure to swell with future releases. These lads have fixed a stair to the top of New Zealand music hierarchy and look set to climb there with eyes half shut. Karmic Hit. 2005.

2 out of 5 stars Don't believe the hype........2006-08-13

What a disappointment this was. Sure, there are a few good songs (Moscow Snow, She's Jive, Hey Little, and maybe Stick with It). Those 4 are somewhat Shins styled songs and are fairly good. But, the rest is just dreck. The second half of this cd has 4 songs (Product, Playful Partner, Cards, and Candy Arse) that I defy anyone to say anything good about. I'm always mystified at groups who obviously know how to write decent songs, but for reasons unknown choose not to.

5 out of 5 stars Best NZ band ever!!!.......2005-08-11

there are no words to describe this album. The songs are brilliant, think of Oasis in their prime in 95', and blur and suede, then add a twist of originality, and you have Pluto. If they didn't come from NZ, they'd be international superstars, this album is definatly one of the best albums to come out of New Zealand in modern times. Definatly a must buy

5 out of 5 stars A hidden gem.......2004-09-10

New Zealand musicians produce a lot of beautiful music, and this album is a classic example. An edgy pop masterpiece that never made it, Pluto's mix of guitars, piano, and some wicked harmonies make for an album that you won't regret; if only you'd give it a listen. Standout tracks include the opening (Moscow Snow), She's Jive and Stick With It.
