ASHWAVE is also known under the name Pedro CASTILLO, leader of TEMPANO. Well-known amongst the fans, this famous Venezuelan Progressive rock band is appreciated both for its inventiveness and its melodic talents, without counting the incredible virtuosity of its musicians. The one we care about here is no beginner, considering the fact that the singer and multi-instrumentist’s professional career lasts for more than twenty-five years. His first solitary album has been recorded during the year 1994. The first opus of his new experience is called "Moving Futures" (2003). It displays a music obviously inspired by TEMPANO’s romanticism and spirit, with an electronic feeling. Every composition showcases a different side of his style, between atmospheric pop ala NO-MAN, symphonic Progressive rock ala PINK FLOYD, trip-hop ala MASSIVE ATTACK and sophisticated rock ala RADIOHEAD. "Palestine" can even remind of Peter GABRIEL’s experiments ! A little gem not to be missed…

What an album !.......2004-07-30

It is pleasure to hear an album as refreshing as this one, amazing music. People usually like to compare bands or mention influences in order to have an idea, I do that "just" to help the reader understand this great release, Ashwave is a band with its own sound and personality so please use my references just as that... bands that come to mind are Floyd, Radiohead post OK Computer, No man, Porcupine tree and Stereolab... Well structured sound with cohesive and well-written songs that are , relaxed, mind blowing, energetic, emotional, passionate, intense... it's worth adding to your collection, and do it before is too late, this indi/underground albums get deleted all the time to become collectors items...

Ashwave is creating a distinctive and emotionally resonant electro-organic fusion of music from the roots of Brian Eno with a flavor of Progressive Rock ala Pink Floyd from dark side of the moon days and Steve Wilson's No-man and have a real knack for gorgeous, catchy and dreamy melodies.
This is a must have CD that you must grab right now before it becomes a rarity, highly recommended .
