Wendy Richard came outside with Mike.......2003-06-26
Come outside was typical of the type of song Mike most liked to sing, with a touch of satire and a bit of a cheeky chappie attitude - so if you want your music to be politically correct, this collection is not for you. Mike sang in a pseudo-Cockney accent that may also put off some people.
Mike could also sing serious songs. Among those included here, Fountain of love was originally intended to be the A side of his debut single with Come outside on the B-side. It would have been interesting to see what might have happened if both had been separate A-sides.
Just like Eddie became a UK top five hit for Heinz in 1963 but Mike Sarne recorded it first. Mike's version was never released in the UK until it appeared on this compilation.
This is an interesting collection of early sixties music by somebody with a unique style.
