Another World is Possible.......2003-01-04
As someone who has been following the anti-globalization movement for a long time, and participating in the peace movement, I just want to say that this cd set is amazing.
First of all, this cd is a grouping of amazingly talented artists. In addition, the range of this cd is as broad as the movement itself. From funk, to folk, to hip-hop, to punk, the music is great.
My favorite parts of this cd set are the spoken word excerpts. Tracks 6 and 11 on cd1 are both amazing. Track 6 discusses both how present day capitalism has reverted to feudalism, and the wall in quebec was the same as feudal moats. Track 11 discusses how the roots of the violence in quebec, which began with the black block anarchists, grew right out of the disenfranchisement of youth.
Buy this CD. Get inspired. Contribute to the movement. We are at a pivotal time in history, where power structures are changing. This cd set is a powerful chronicle of a large part of the new movement. Another world is possible.
