5 out of 5 stars Boston's Only Double-Piano Rock Band.......2006-05-13

Boston, MA brothers-in-arms Joachim & Erich Horsley share a common love of rock 'n roll, fully-arranged orchestral-rock arrangements, and wailing riffs on the acoustic piano. You have actually never heard anything like Littlehorse, because there is no other band like Littlehorse. If I wrote for Rolling Stone magazine, I would have to give this epic debut EP a 4-star rating. The brothers Horsley, along with stellar help in the engineering & production department, not to mention the Tower Of Power horns (on all 5 tracks) have produced a milestone piece of beautiful power-pop art. Fans of Yes, Queen, Kansas, Jellyfish, Rush, and even Star Wars will love this CD. One of the best compliments I can give "Perils And Thrills" it is that after I hear it straight through, I feel like I've listened to an entire album. I am exhausted. The lyrics are witty , strange, and wonderful, and the non-stop speeder-bike on Endor style of songwriting will leave you breathless and longing for more. Fortunately, they finished their 2nd album "The Mission Before Us" recently, which is equally as cool and musically rewarding.

5 out of 5 stars Better than sex.......2001-07-24

I heard these guys on National Public Radio and had to gettheir CD (Interview can be found at ... and search for "Little Horse.") Anyway, I am just blown away by the energy and cool new sound. It is definitely rock, but has real substance, humer and energy. I'm totally addicted to the album now...

5 out of 5 stars LittleHorse - Wow.......2001-04-11

This is great! Where on Earth did this come from? This is the one of the most exciting records I bought this year. The playing, harmonies and melody writing is really fresh and creative, but my favorite aspect of these songs is the lyrics. The words are well chosen and the lines are beautifully crafted, but you never get the sense that these guys take themselves too seriously. "The Director" compares life to a movie, parelleling luck and misfortune to script change and last minute set construction, while the song after it "One Step Ahead of me (Moose)" describes a serious of experiences being the underdog. And then there's "Lando Explains," which must be about Lando Calrissian, the minor Star Wars character, and why he decided to betray his friend Han Solo. My favorite song is "Running Just Ahead of the Devil," which seems to be about some big shot who thinks he's a spy (reminds me of the used car Salesman from that movie "True Lives"). Despite the humor of the whole record, none of it comes off as trite or juvanial - these guys definitely know how to use the English language. I can't tell you how relieved and fired up I am to hear someone in pop/rock who still thinks Lyrics make a difference.

I compare LittleHorse to Jellyfish, Ben Folds Five, and Steely Dan, but there's so many other influences in there too, I don't want to pigeon-whole them completely. There is something in the music for everyone. If these guys can pull this off live, I think it's just a matter of time before they explode and become a very major band.

5 out of 5 stars Completely Addicting...what a debut!.......2001-03-09

Littlehorse gives a blend that is irrisistable and catching. This 5 song debut shows their awsome talent, dual pianos, horns, and lyrics that are as fun as they are addicting. Just listen to them, and you can't get enough...www.littlehorsemusic.com for samples
