Solid live album that starts with a bang....great early material such as The Perfectionist and the prog gem Interview. I liked the enhanced part of the CD...it plays real well on my computer. The two live songs Pitchman and Intermission are excellent. I docked one star for the tired sounding acoustic section and for only playing one song from the wonderful Generation 13 album-oh well. For newcomers,start with the Chapters Live and then this one- great music!!!

Very good live cd.......2002-08-02

This is very good live cd with some great live performances such as how long, the perfectionist, humble stance, welcome to the zoo( better than the studio version by far), the cross, the accoustic version of security of illusion, and framed. Some weak perfomances are scracthing the surface, on the loose , and wind him up. Well worth buying

Excellent live cd.......2000-04-16

This ia an excellent live cd but it isn't totally perfect so I'm not going to give it 5 stars but an excellent performance, however.I hadn't bought a saga recording since behaviour. I didn't even know they were still around until I got on the internet. Some of these songs I've never heard before such as the cross, welcome to the zoo, the security of illusion, heaven can wait, and five others. They are well done here and I'm currently looking for other saga cd's on the basis of hearing these tunes. The two video's are really good especially as far as the way they sound both from material from heads or tales. Times up is an accoustical version here. I f you like saga you'll like this cd.

very impressive live CD release.......2000-03-18

I must admit, after "Pleasure and the Pain", I was reluctant to purchase another Saga CD. Although they are by far one of my favorite bands, I felt their time had passed. BUT - this release is so good, it has totally revived my interest. A MUST for any Saga fan - great song list, great live performance. Check out "The Perfectionist", "The Security of Illusion" and "The Interview".

Saga delivers wonderful 20th anniversary live package........1998-09-19

Recorded on their 20th anniversary tour, Detours is a marvelous showcase of where Saga has been musically over the past two decades. Unlike other bands that have been around awhile, Saga performs tracks from throughout their career from their beginnings ("You're Not Alone") to their latest ("Welcome To The Zoo"). Of course, the big two are on this 2-disc package ("Wind Him Up" and "On The Loose") but so are really cool tracks like "Interview" and the acoustic version of "The Security of Illusion."

Soundwise, the performances on the package are among the best live recordings I've ever heard and banter with the audience isn't played down. In other words, you could very well be listening to a live broadcast happening at this very moment.

On the negative side, do we really need a hidden drum solo at the end of disc 2? Also, a number of times during audience participation, the house mikes are either not turned up all the way or not even there. At least twice singer/keyboardist Michael Sadler seems to be talking to himself.
