Once you "get" Johnny Clarke, you'll never be the same. There aren't many albums out there. Get it while you can.

On this record John Cooper Clarke provides a map of his contemporary 70's British society. We experience several portraits of small and small-minded personalities and livelyhoods, painted by John Cooper Clarke in his own coloful style. The tumbling of the words over each other, the ingenious rhymes and in-rhymes builds the flow of the poetry, sometimes running smoothly and sometimes stuttering in staccato. The rugged voice of our hero poet makes the perfect vessel for carrying this genuine British expression. Needed in every collection of punk poetry, don't leave life without it.
