Album Description

Digitally remastered reissue of second & final album by band fronted by Rupert Hine. Originally released on the Electric label in 1977, it contains all eight of the tunes that first appeared on it, plus five unmarked bonus tracks, 'Don't Look Now' (Mixing Version), 'Blue Mountain (Mixing Version), 'Barracuda' (Mixing Version), 'Take Me To The Void Again' (Incomplete 'Work-In-Progress Mix) and 'Summer In The City' (cover of the Lovin' Spoonful hit). 13 tracks total. 1999 release.

Somehow this one got missed when they rereleased all the good stuff on CD from the 70's. This and its sister album are real pearls, collectors items, also it was way ahead of its time in terms of production.

A quantum leap in music..........2000-07-27

If you're a Hine fan, go out and buy it. If you're not, go out and buy it. I'm sure you will like it, it's the stuff that made the 70's music so excellent.

Quantum Jump is Rupert Hine, Mark Warner, John G. Perry and (last but not least) Trevor Morais. They made three albums in the late seventies, which were condensed into two re-issued CD's (Quantum Jump and Barracuda). Highlights for me are 'Don't look now', 'Starbright park' and 'Barracuda'. And even though the age of this music is close to 25 years, it still sounds as new as if it was made yesterday.

Out With The Old.......2002-03-12

This CD just blows me away!!! From the first time I listened to the raw footage through now with the finished product, it still has the power to excite me! Did you ever buy a CD for just one or two songs?? I have, and I guarantee this is not one of them! Just when you think you've heard the best song on the album, the next one is even better.

This group is terrific and the music is very well written. If it's not snapped up for a record deal, not only will I be surprized , but some record company will be missing the chance of a lifetime.

I book entertainment so I hear music every minute of the day, whether it's local, regional or national talent. I must say, this CD is at the top of my list!

Take a listen and I'm sure you'll love it as musch as I do. I can't wait for their next release!!!

Out With The Old is one heck of an album that all music fans will enjoy. Brent Woodall isn't afraid to vocalize his talent. He is not just a singer, but a true born vocalist who sings not only from his heart but from the life experiences we can all appreciate.

Brent Woodall has tugged on the chains on some of life's many roads and he expresses sentiments that we have all felt and give wings to dreams that we have all dreamt.

Brent Woodall's voice is a perfect match for the lyrics, and the accompaniments are tight and excellently done. The album is well-paced, too, with the songs working together as well as on their own.

I love the wordplay that country music often has, and Brent Woodall 3rd Track "Who Cares" (My Personal Favorite!). And " When Love at First Sight Goes Blind" includes the tale of love gone wrong.

I really like this album, and think most people who enjoy great music will enjoy it a lot. The enhanced aspects of the CD deserve their own mention -- they're excellent, and a model for those who want to include such things. I like Brent Woodall's approach both vocally and musically, and will look forward to his next work!

Hidden Treasure Finally Found.......2003-07-08

Motorpsycho is a band that has been either totally underground, totally ignored, or so ahead of their time that no one listened. They have created a style so breathtaking, but were tragically ignored due to the fads Americans go through, i.e; U2, Van Halen, Green Day, Linkin Park, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and an going list of bands who have simply shown a new stylistic music for their time, but no stability in growth. However, Motorpsycho has sharpened their blade over the entire time they have been playing. They're not new, but newly discovered. I just recently (literally)discovered them and find myself mesmerized by their embracement of what MUSIC is about. This is a band overlooked by people ignorant of what harmoincs, compilation, composition, creativity, and great riffs are really about. They are the next generation of music fans who felt bored until Led Zeppelin finally appeared. It's honest rock for all who are bored with rock music. Choose any albulm, and you will be hooked.
The only drawback is that the albulms repeat themselves. The band tried to market themselves to keep their head above the water, but with earnest sales from this albulm, they have a chance to excel. Hopefully they'll make enough dough to stop recycling their tunes,

They can still rawk.......2002-03-23

The 30+ minutes of Barracuda cover the exact territory that was absent from MP's previous release, Let Them Eat Cake. Cake featured mostly catchy, well-written pop songs, which left many fans (this one included) wondering if the guys could still rock. Barracuda answers that question with a resounding yes.

Recorded at the same time as Let Them Eat Cake, Barracuda is an EP of straightforward rock songs, drawing influence from The Who (especially on track 2, "Up 'Gainst The Wall (High Time)) the MC5, and the Rolling Stones among others. It's been compared to Trust Us in that the riffs are heavy and loud, and the songwriting is top-notch.

While Barracuda isn't their best release, it's a return to form likely to satisfy those who thought that Cake was too fluffy (sorry, couldn't resist).
