As you may have read from other reviews, this disc doesn't have any "original" recordings. They're all new versions of the songs that you grew up with, only, they don't sound right. They all have varying degrees of "differentness". Having said that, House of The Rising Sun by the Animals is distinctly different from the original version. In a VERY cool way. WAAAY bluesy. I equate it to a "Director's Cut". I'm not saying 1 out of 20 is worth it, but HOTRS is awesome on this disc. Everything else? Whatever.

Revival of memories and a unique find.......2007-01-10

The album, Best of Rockin' 60's was a sweet find of some original cuts of the sixties and some interesting additions like the gritty live version of Tobacco Road by the Nashville Teens and the awesome remix of House of the Rising Sun by the Animals with acapella by Eric Burdon--made my hair stand on end!!!

Who are "Mike Pender's Searchers?" .......2005-04-10

I was really surprised to see that one the "original artists" [these are not the "original recordings" they are "new stereo recordings" of the 60's--see my review of "20 best hits of the 50's" (sic)], was Mike Pender's Searchers, who only seem to appear on a couple of CD's on Amazon - one is a British import where they have a few tracks of a CD that is mainly Gerry and the Pacemakers (I HAVE heard of them and really liked them). So Love Potion No. 9 is done by Mike Pender's Searchers instead of the Clovers! The songs are enjoyable but do not have that top 10 sound we remember. Be sure to try to listen to the song samples if available so you will know what they sound like (if it helps).
