Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops are as American as apple pie.......2000-07-16

For those of us who have enjoyed the irrepressible Maestro Kunzel and the effevescent Cincinnati Pops Orchestra for so many years both live, on Cd and on PBS, this collection of Americana is as good as it gets. Sousa, long revered as America's March King, shines on these discs as the composer of delightful dance tunes and even 'The Presidential Polonaise' a worthy contender with the weighty European prcessional. Its a pity that the President doesn't trot this out for White House functions. The tunes are every bit a Fourth of July celebration. The spoken word piece, 'Casey at the Bat' couldn't have a better narrator than Johnny Bench,a man who knows the score about baseball. So, if you want to have yourself up and marching and dancing and laughing around the house, buy this collection and treat youself to a holiday any day of the year.

Hot Apple Pie Fan Club Party.......2006-04-30

This HAP CD is awesome! Such a great mixture of music. Something for everyone, but you'll most likely love the whole CD. And these guys are a lot of fun to see live. They put on a great show. So I thought I'd also let you know about their fan club party during the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

I absolutely love this CD. I listen to it over and over in my car. I recommend it for all music lovers, not just country fans. HAP is going to be around a long time if they keep pumping out music like this!

Hot Apple Pie's newly released self titled album was introduced to the music scene by the debut the quirky, feel good summer hit "Hilbillies." The fresh new group, led by Little Texas frontman Brady Seals, puts a new spin on traditional country mixing a Texas boy with a degree in jazz, a Cajun drummer who throws in some accordion now and then, and a flat-picking guitar champ from Virginia.

No matter ones style preference the Hot Apple Pie album has something to offer, whether it is the heartfelt ballad of "Why Cant I Get to You", the classic "Slowing down the Fall" featuring Willie Nelson (my personal favorite on the album), or the funky anthem style "Redneck Revolution." With a great contrast of songs tied together by the excellent musicianship the group named for their "100% natural, no artificial ingredient style," puts out an heartfelt and fun debut album, perfect for a summer release. Hopefully their creativity and insight into the business will keep them making more.

Mike Westcott & Blues on Board does nothing but astound you. A fresh, more "rockin'" version of old Blues songs are exactly what the new generation needs today.
