This CD is the newest in my collection of Adicts CDs and it is a winner. However, i think that the very best of the adicts shows off the great range of songs that have a great meaning to them. If its your first adicts CD, try the very best of the adicts, it will have you adictted in no time

This was a very good cd! I was first introduced to "The Adicts" when watching a video about the history of punk. I bought this and it's very good. Almost all the songs are magnificent. You will only be disappointed with a couple songs. It comes with over 20 songs, so it's well worth it.

i dont have this compelation. the one i have is out of print.but it does have alot of the same songs.anyways this is the band the clash wished they could of sounded it also makes the sex pistols sound like imatators if you can belive that. this disc im sure is raw and with a sound that is the engish punk sound at its best its even probably remastered to.who knows. .buy this for your collection im sure its great if not take the easy way out of good punk just seddle for london calling of something like that............

Take it from an ex skinhead, some of the best punk rock ever to come out of belfast. you have to get passed the raw, under-produced rock that these lads are playing. hysterical lyrics as well. definately less hard rock than defects but in some ways less pretty than SLF. just out and out punk.

the Outcasts are from the early 80's. they sound like early D.I and have a upbeat tempo. they have a few songs that have that Clash feeling to them. they are great, check them out!

This is a great Peter and The Test Tube Babies collection. It's got all my favorite songs but for 'Beat Up The Mods'. If it had the one track, this would be one of my favorite albums, but that is the one flaw I see.

different but good.......2003-01-26

I first got this album after hearing the song "How Much Longer", I loved it so I thought I would check the album out. When got it and started listening to it I was a bit suprised and skeptical at first (i mean the first track really isn't even a song). But as I listened to it more and more the more I began to like it. Not all the songs were what I would have expected them to be but some of their weirder stuff is really great! Highlights Include: How Much Longer, Life, Love Lies Limp, Another Coke, Good Times, You Bastard, Action Time Vision, Why Don't You Do Me Right, Life After Life, Spitting In Two, and Viva La Rock and Roll (as you can see I really like this album). This album might not be for every punk fan seeing as how it goes way out of the lines of classic style punk but if you like post-punk like experimentation and 77' style punk you might want to check out this album.

Classic slice of Punk History!.......2002-03-29

You are sitting in your small room but your mind is like a ballroom!

Alternative Television are a hard band to categorise, born in the punk era, but influenced by a wide variety of styles. This is their ground breaking first LP. Although not that well known, it has definitely stood the test of time! It features a mixture of live and studio material, inter-spliced with samples and experimentation, eclectic rhythms, reggae, and even a great cover version of "Why don't you do me right?" (By Frank Zappa). The album not only captures the mood of the times but is a must for any alternative music fan.

This is one of the reasons I don't understand why it doesn't get the respect and recognition that it thoroughly deserves. It's a classic slice of music history, punk history and the musical melting pot that was happening during the late seventies. Highlights include Good Times, Still Life and Viva La Rock `n' Roll (which features a youthful Jools Holland). The CD release also includes all the relevant 7" singles the band cut at around the same time, plus a couple of alternate takes. All in all this is a great re-issue! The album sounds just as fresh today as it did the first time I heard it.

This has to be one of the most important records to come out of the punk era so if you are into the Pop Group, PIL, Can, The Fall, Zappa, Beefheart, Pere Ubu etc then you need to own a copy of this album. You will not regret buying this!

This cd shows some Irish bands, well known bands like Undertones, Outcasts, Rudi, Idiots, Shapes, Victim, and rare bands (at least for me!) but them plays good as hell!. of course, there is some not so good tracks, I don't like too much Protex, too low for me. there is a band named The Bears...why some label don't re-release some of their discography?. obviously, just for diehards punk 77 style. very good.
