Men's Recovery Project - "Resist The New Way".......2000-11-17

Men's Recovery Project is an "avant garde," post-punk, neo-dada attack unit which features seminal punk superstar Sam McPheters, of the legendary band Born Against. Comparisons with other groups are difficult, but musically Men's Recovery Project encompass elements of new wave, punk, hardcore, noise, improv, and could possibly be compared to early DEVO, the Residents, and even a bit of Nurse With Wound - but their sound and sensibility are entirely their own. Personally, I consider this band's work a return to a "purist" non-rational interpretation of dada, which seems to have gotten lost somewhere along the way by most other artists and musicians pursuing similar aims.

This album, "Resist The New Way" is an ambiguous concept piece which has something to do with a satirized science fiction-based vision of the not-too-distant future. The majority of the album is composed of brief synth-laden, "pop" numbers, which just might be catchy if they weren't so atonal.

Playing bass on this album is the legendary Joe Preston of Earth, The Melvins, and The Thrones - if you care about that sort of thing.

I bought this program and the DVD disk did not work, I also found the CD's to much alike and they gave you way to much time to visualize each thing, I recommend a person gets the Fighting cancer from within program instead.
