5 out of 5 stars Its Hard to Go Wrong with the Right Roots.......2006-01-03

I took a chance on this CD having only heard one track. I was really expecting the rest of the CD to be more in line with the mainstream Melbourne scene, but much to my surprise it resembled Australian roots punk instead. From the opening chords it isn't hard to tell where this band's influences lie. The guitar assualt draws its energy from bands like Radio Birdman, and the early 80's Aussie punk scene in general. Later on the band tips their hats to Angus Young, and Jimmy Page. Tracks like "Jack the Ripper" harken back to bands like the Sonics, but with a much more modern flavour.

Overall the band does a good job mixing raw power punk with some ragged, but interesting harmonies. Probably the best part though was the attitude. It really shines through on several tracks, but perhaps "Not Cool Enough for You" sums it up the best as it maintains a sense of humour while not compromising the intensity.

For anyone who is into the Australian punk scene, and especially for those who may have thought it was dying out this CD is a must have.

4 out of 5 stars Shit Hot!.......2005-09-02

Great album by an emerging Australian Band. Life, love and staying up late are what it's all about... Dirty guitars, sing-along choruses and fast, short songs make for a rockin' good time.

For the international audience: A fine addition to cannon of dirty Aussie rock, if you know what i am talking about then JUST BUY IT you will not be dissapointed.
