Nite Flyte one of the groovy band in late 70's. It's difficult to find that kind of beat these days. If you called your're self a class of 70's, you better have this CD.

This is one of the most refreshing CD's around. Ultra smooth and very relaxing yet I find it doesn't 'over-relax' me. A great CD to help you start a great day!! It is also good wind-down music before you go out to dinner on friday night!! A very nice CD to round out your collection. Great music for those moments you need to be alone and enjoy a good cup of java!!

Cramming the Byrds in one Cage.......2006-01-26

It is impossible to do an overview of a group like the Byrds because of their various incarnations and the fact that most of their material was of such a high quality. However, Raven Record of Australia has done the best job possible (nearly all Raven releases are worth seeking out). The only constant here is Byrds leader Roger (nee: Jim) McGuinn, who piloted these wildly talented ensembles through the mid-1960s hit years (cuts 1-16), the roots-psychedelic masterpiece "Notorious Byrds Brothers" (cuts 17-20), the rock-meets-Nashville classic "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" (cuts 21-23), and the late-1960s-early 1970s country rock version (featuring the brilliant Clarence White on guitar) (cuts 24-26). Much has been said about "artistic tensions" in the group, but however much David Crosby, Gene Clark, Chris Hillman, Michael Clarke, and - later - Gram Parsons faced off with McGuinn and each other, it never seemed to translate into the grooves of the original LPs. These songs, from "Mr. Tambourine Man" through "Eight Miles High" and onto "Hickory Wind," are just timeless and sound as good today as the day they were released. The Byrds didn't aim for the heart with love songs; they aimed for the mind and they had an intellectual sensibility rarely found in pop music. If this is your first Byrds disc, I guarantee you will be moved to seek out their original albums, almost all of which still shine today.

Quasi-live 60's garage pop/rock.......2002-09-19

This group was from Pennsylvania, I believe, and were a pretty good garage rock/pop group. The singer sounds a lot like Jim Sohns of the Shadows of Knight, but they weren't as bluesy or hard as that group. I'd describe their sound as closer to Paul Revere and the Raiders (whom they cover). The recordings on this c.d. were made for a live performance-- they recorded themselves in the studio, and then played over the tapes at the concert. Although you only hear the original recordings rather than the subsequent live performance, somehow the between-song chatter of the concert remains, which is mainly by a group of d.j.'s from the radio station that hosted the concert. You might find the chatter annoying, but I think it gives the c.d. good period flavor. Most of the songs are covers of well-known pop songs of the period, which are performed reasonably well. There are also a few originals, "Flyte" being the best among them, with nice tempo changes and a good tight arrangement. Overall, this isn't an essential purchase for 60's garage rock fans, but it's a fun enough package for serious collectors.

An interesting garage Band.......2001-04-26

When I first listened Flowerz Flyte, I didn't know exactly what I was discovering, I love psych stuff and this band was a totally surprise for me...essentially covers of 60 bands, It was a fresh garage band, not THE garage band I ever heard, but it was fine to me....listen the "All Day and All the Night" version (the famous Kinks song), it's a nice psych band, I think
