House Brew combines all the flavor of smooth jazz with a heartfelt dose of Latin and Funk influences. The songs are very original and have a sound that touches everyone. The album is great and for anyone to enjoy.

Honestly, a beautiful CD. Really good musicians lovin what their doin. Danny Moynahan's lead vocals are authentic and pure. A lot of fun from start to finish.

The PHATTEST.......1999-08-11

House Brew is the doppest bomb to come out of SoCal in years. This fresh mix of horns and vocals is phat. AND ITS GOT A GOOD BEAT AND YOU CAN DANCE TO IT. Sean Flynn says "Right On, Man!"

The Barrytowne loves the CD.......1999-07-22

Rojeanne really likes the opening intro and the instrumental cello bit "Tomorrow's My Reprise." She likes the others too but these are her favorites. Franky really likes track #8 "What's In Store" and "The More You Give" because Franky is all about Giving not Receiving. Afsoon REALLY loves "Giraffe" because it reminds her of her trip to the zoo. Mahnaz likes "Captain" because it reminds her of her long romantic cruises around the world with her loved ones. Jayrun and Terme go crazy over "Wishful Thinkin'" because Danny's voice makes them swoon.

Smooth... Very Smooth.......2000-06-13

Smooth... very smooth as always with China Crisis. If you're interested in hearing the sound of China Crisis, this is a good collection to start with. This is a 2 Cd set: Disc One is Unplugged, while the other is their latest full album release after a long rest from the music scene. Let's start with Cd 1. Let me tell you, I've been listening to China Crisis for so long (like 15 years) and this is the first time I heard them play live. They are simply fantastic! Most notable songs in CD 1 are "African and White", "Everyday the Same", "No more Blue Horizons","It's Everything", "Good Again", and "Diary of a Hollow Horse". All praises to the horn and violin accompaniment. Marvelous work! I was hoping that the songs "You Did Cut Me" and "Bigger the Punch I'm Feeling" would be here too. But then this Cd in itself is great! CD 2 is a studio album. Notice most of the songs in CD 2 have their unplugged version in CD 1. It's still worth listening to the studio versions so you can appreciate the improvisations the band made in their live performance. Notable songs for CD 2 are "Hard to be Around" and "Tell me What It is". I really miss China Crisis. I hope they come out with a new album soon. Get this CD. Highly recommended.

It's a SINGLE disc & LIVE album...

I bought this disc - and have since returned it. It is NOT a double-CD as the tracklisting above indicates. Not sure how/why, but it's only the first CD listed... There's not any notes/acknowledgement in the packaging of this elusive "2nd" disc...

Add to this that it is a LIVE album - and not a very good one at that, and you should take a pass. Haven't found the "greatest hits" disc I'll go with in this one's place, but AVOID THIS - YOU DO NOT GET WHAT IS INDICATED ABOVE
