While hardly marking the evolutionary coup suggested by the title, ex-Inspiral Carpet Clint Boon's sophomore album nevertheless is a stylistic shift from the novelty-pop raspberry that was the group's debut, Compact Guide to Pop Music and Space Travel. There's still the sense of knockabout fervor that made Compact so entertaining, but now we find Boon and gang indulging in everything from would-be sophisticated cabaret ("17 & Over") and twinkly doo-wop ("Do What You Do") to clever punk-funk ("Kids Get Kicks"). The Experience's trump card remains their absolute refusal to entertain life's downside, which makes Life in Transition a refreshingly irony-free antidote to introspective misery merchants. How I wish I had access to something like this when I really needed it! I found Dr Walton's helpful guide to be relevant, sensitive and right to the point. Anyone listening to "Surviving the Wedding" is sure to have a more rewarding and less stressful "Rite of Passage". I particularly appreciated how specific he was in covering everything from talking about critical issues in advance of this commitment to honoring an absent loved one during the ceremony. This is really a life-enhancing CD! I have already shared it with friends.

SAVED MY WEDDING!.......2003-03-22

I was a total wreck until I heard this CD. It totally changed the way I viewed my bride (who was beginning to disgust me). I was apprehensive about marrying her for months until I listened to the calming, soothing voice and sage advice of this master of matrimonial mending. Anyone who thinks they secretly would rather be doing ANYTHING besides marrying "the one" should listen to this disc. However, if you are Jewish or Italian (like me) then all bets are off - guilt will wrack you for years to come no matter what CD you listen to. I should phone my therapist now...

this album is pop..weak maybe it wants to be better..maybe it trys to verge on something bigger then pop..maybe its quiet happy with its semi pop mediocre slot in nowhere..but this album is poor..just poor..not even pop ..its a weird empty cd...i wouldnt buy it..

Linda's magical fingers on her double-strung celtic harp allow the listener to become one with the music. Each peace is performed with Linda's wonderful feminine energy and is a gift to anyone's listening ears. My massage therapist purchased a copy and all her clients request Linda's CD as part of there relaxation and massage therapy.
