Save Your Money!.......2007-06-18

I saw the words "original artists" and thought I was buying a CD of the original hits. WRONG! Even if they are the original artists (and I have my doubts) - this is akin to getting watered down instant coffee when you were expecting fresh brewed Costa Rican! If you grew up listening to the TRULY original hits, then don't even think about purchasing this CD because it will depress you. On the other hand, if you are totally unfamiliar with the originals, you might find this to be... just o.k.

If you remember these songs you WILL be disappointed. They don't even sound close to the original. If they are the original artists from the 60's, they should have retired in their 50's.

Remakes!.......2004-09-30

This album is a pure disappointment!! These are not the original hit recordings that you used to listen to on the radio back in the 60's. And most don't have the same energy the originals had. Some artists make several recordings of the same song as a matter of normal practice. Don't waste your money!

this is what is bad about these low cost oldies collections. you think your getting a good deal on great memories as you remember them. instead your getting a rerecorded bad recording of maybe one original member. i hate when this happens.

Save your money. It may well be true that the songs are by the original artists, though I am not totally convinced, but the great majority are later re-recordings. They neither sound the same nor are enjoyable -- to me at least. Get the real thing and save yourself the irritation.

Original artists remakes.......2001-12-29

These are songs done by the original artists in studio long after the original songs were released. It would have been nice if someone had said up front that these were remakes and not the originals. Some of the singers are still able to duplicate their original performance, like Gene Chandler's "Duke of Earl". Others, like Skeeter Davis' "The End of the World" is embarrassing to listen to, her voice is gone. If you like oldies, save your money on this one and buy the original hits.

Sorry to say that this "Happy Days" compilation of songs should really be called "Sad Days", since a great majority of these recordings are NOT performed by the original artists. And of course, some of the people who are on this CD(not the original artists) are not very good, as you can determine right away by listening to them. Later....
