About the Artist
I've been singing in various groups since 1957 and playing music since 1969, belonging to a number of blues and R&B bands. I've performed in many clubs in the Tri-State area including Warmdaddy's, Red, Hot and Blue and the Raven's Nest. I've performed gratis for thr Police and Firemen's Hero Scholarship Show, Philadelphia.

Product Description
I grew up in the “Sixties” when popular music altered our consciousness. Care-”free love” (no AIDS), communal inhalation of mind altering substances and fear of being sent to Vietnam prevailed. That music is just as popular today as it was then. It’s great to be nostalgic, but a lot has happened since I donned my tie-dye shirt and bell-bottoms. I’ve since turned off, tuned out and dropped in to “real life” - I got a job, got married, had kids, grew older and listened to music. No one was writing songs that spoke to my evolving life so I decided to write songs about what’s happening today – the good, the bad and the crazy. Since my musical tastes expanded (along with my waistline) through the years, I have used varied musical styles and genres (including Rock, Reggae, Blues, Jazz, Latin-Rock, Soul and Fusion) to tell my story. You may obtain the full text of my lyrics on my website at: babyboomer-angst.com This album tells the story of the life of an adult baby boomer and his family, friends, enemies and others.

5 out of 5 stars Soundtrack of a babyboomer.......2002-03-29

Well as i've heard this album from its beginnings to its completion i have an intimate understanding of it. I have to admit that not every track is to my liking, but they all contribute to the "concept" of the album. Each tells a story about a specific person, situation, etc, but is done in such a way that it is general enough to appeal to a wide ranging audience.

The instrumental backing tracks fit the mood of each track quite well; while at the same time allowing enough space for the vocals and harmonica to shine through. The songs range in moods from gentle to comical to dark to almost heavy metal.

Highlight tracks for me are "Middle Class", "Babe", "You're Everything to Me", "Love Hurts", "Yo Dad Wassup". The harmonica playing is quite good on this album and shows that years of gigging have greatly honed Steve Klein's playing. The solos are all improvised, but are concise and melodic and fit the fabric of each song. Also of note are the vocal harmonies prevalent in many tracks. These add another dimension to the songs and enhance the mood; whether it be more sinister or just to fill out the sound.

The album is not perfect of course; but it's a well thought out representation of the many experiences of a babyboomer living in the 21st century.
