Amazon music samples for this cd sound OK, but all of the reviews here are from members of the band just screwing around and trying to jack up ratings on their own cd. They are the only ones who reviewed it, because they are the only ones who own it.

The dead giveaway is when they say "this sophomore effort is a brilliant album that bests the likes of jellyfish, jason falkner and the grays."

Too bad they didn't put as much effort into making a good cd as they did messing around on the Amazon reviews trying to jerk each other around and pump up their CD ratings.

I really love these guys, but wow when they replaced the rhythm guitarist they sure got better live. He was too ugly and fat to play on stage with all the other hotties on stage. Great disc, and great band! Good job!

I think that the singer is an amazing singer and that Billy's guitar sound is not thin at all but is plump and juicy as a beefsteak. Correction: Troy was never an illegal alien, and Billy was never into porn. The reason the band never made it was the poor songwriting of R Jochelson. Oh well, water under the bridge for them now, but just a great CD!!

nice but fire that lead singer.......2003-04-17

This album shoudl be a 5 star record. It is begging to be one. The songs, the writing, the playing are all brilliant. If it weren't for the lead singer that is, he is borderline at best. Neverthless the craftsmanship manages to somehow rise above his nasal whines to the point where one can jsut about ignore his shortcominngs. This is a worthwhile effort!

this sophomore effort is a brilliant album that bests the likes of jellyfish, jason falkner and the grays. jason falkner wishes he could pair down his virtuosic ramblings to make the sweet simplicity of the countrified lets get out of la or the balsy romp of littlemonkeyfriend. Only one track disapponts - the abysmal window seats where the limited vocal range of the rather weary sounding singer, dave dattner, sounds like chalk on a blackboard. the rest of the album makes the mediocre vocalist actually sound good, which is quite an accomplishment if you have ever heard him live. this band has broken up, with the afformentioned dattner seeking solace in the dj/mixing beats community. this band may have achieved mainstream success had it been paired with a more accesible vocalist, but the quality of the tunes and song writing more than makes up for this complaint. Interesting anecdote- apparently the guitar player, B zimmer has become a rather prodigous porn star in fetish films, while the drummer, t warkentin, a plumpish but talented skinman, is believed to be living illegally somewhere in our great nation. no one knows what became of the other songwriter r jochelson, but it is clear that when the band moved to the usa, he did not join them. rather, an impressive guitarist - m vangool joined the ranks of the susans providing a mean muscular sound to the band. vangool was known for his excellent image, good looks and amazing guitar playing chops, leading one record executive to comment that he was the only band member who "could hack it live". the band never signed with a major likely due to the vocalist's poor live performances, and b zimmers' insipid thin guitar sound live but this studio effort is sure to impress.
