Album Description

One of the most undervalued of the post-punk bands to emerge from Manchester, The Passage were active between 1978 and 1983, producing four cult albums and a slew of singles. Pindrop, their dense first album, originally appeared in 1980 on the Object label and has been unavailable for two decades. The album also includes material from their first two ultra-rare EPs, featuring ex-Fall bassist Tony Friel. 27 remastered tracks! LTM. 2003.

Trust me on this one.......2006-07-28

First things First - Anything involving singer/guitarist/musician/songwriter-extraordinaire Brian Moss is gold. If you see his name on something, buy it! His other bands include: The Wunder Years, The Ghost, Hanalei.

*The songs are listed in the wrong order on the CD jacket. song 3 and 4 are switched. Track 3 is really called "The Exhibition" and track 4 is "Picturebook"*

This short-lived 2-man project came to life somewhere, I Believe, between the end of the Wunder Years & before the creation of the Ghost. There are six tracks here. Really there are five, the last track is only a one minute outro. Regardless, these five songs are nothing short of musical genius.

01.Old Man Maple- Picking up where the Wunder Years left off, this is a rowdy rocker, with a catchy main riff and throaty vocals.

02.Watership- Very catchy guitars, great bouncy bass line. Verses and outro show off the softer side.

*03.The Exhibition- If there is a standout track, this is it. Very pretty, great lyrics and vocals. The bridge riff will be stuck in your head for months. Brians next band the Ghost also do a version of this song, slightly different, equally good. This is how I know the song titles are switched on the CD jacket, because the Ghost also do this song, but not "Picturebook".

*04.Picturebook- Rocker with hauntingly eerie verses sandwhiched between heavy guitar choruses and bridges.

05.Chalice- Great moving bass lines, intricate guitars. Very moody and grooving with a hard hitting powerful breakdown towards the last quarter of the song.

This is an amazing EP. For fans of indie-rock and post-punk type stuff. Goes great on a mixed CD with other Brian Moss Bands.

An awesome ep wchich makes you can't wait for their full length album. I first heard the band on the plea for peace cd, their extremely catchy song "old man maple". The rest of the songs are just as good as that and i'm sure a lot of people are going to get into the band. You will too after you listen to this cd.

Great plugged-in Indie sound........2003-12-31

This album reflects positively on Tomatohead records. In the same vein of Ee and Korea Girl, Trust Foundation is well worth the listen.
