To one whole generation of music lovers, Isaac Hayes is the composer of 'Theme from Shaft' (the archetypal 'blaxploitation' film score), the Black Moses of Cool, the Hot Buttered Soul Man and, quite simply, a musical genius. To another generation (30 years removed) he's the voice of Chef, king of the school cafeteria, from animated television show South Park. Following his adventurous early 1970s commercial peak, Hayes made a comeback at the end of the decade with For the Sake of Love & Don't Let Go. Featuring two US R&B Top 40 hits 'Zeke the Freak' & 'Don't Let Go', the albums featured an impeccably produced blend of soul, disco & funk. This long-overdue and much-anticipated CD reissue of two of Isaac Hayes' albums from the late-'70s is much welcome indeed. Granted, some of the uptempo disco tracks sound dated, trite and overproduced but the gorgeous slow-burn ballads are vintage Isaac Hayes on all counts. Despite changing trends, Isaac Hayes' music remained fresh and relevant and the two LPs reissued on this CD are (mostly) very fine and soulful.

Great 2 LP on 1 CD set!!! Re-mastered and on CD for the first time. Great songs!!! A must for fans of Isaac Hayes.
