Debut effort by The Rust, melodic rock with strong vocals and harmonies, a wide palette of rhythmic and sonic textures. The CD opens with the deceptively light guitar instrumental "2359", then roars into full-speed with the heavy guitars of "Midnight Encounter." From power ballads like "Unheard" to the synth-rhythm final track "New Arrival", this CD shines with Pat Yadon's clear tenor vocals and the bands thought-provoking lyrics.

Young has recorded many live albums, but none capture his two dominant musical personalities with as much power as 1979's Rust Never Sleeps. The acoustic side opens with "My, My, Hey, Hey (Out of the Blue)," a devastating anthem about the state of rock & roll. Comparing the Sex Pistols' Johnny Rotten to the late Elvis Presley, Young delivers perhaps his most famous line: "It's better to burn out than to fade away." Side 2 demonstrates the emotional power of Young's hard-rocking quartet, Crazy Horse, with the scathing political songs "Powderfinger," "Welfare Mothers," and the loud reprise of "My, My, Hey, Hey." --Steve KnopperCustomer Reviews:
so good.......2007-06-22
My review won't be as good, but I want to give a shout out to a very good rock artist- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Whoops, I meant, Neil Young and Crazy Horse. hehe
Rust Never Sleeps was a very popular record for Neil Young back in the late 70's. My dad thinks it was Neil's most popular album, but I can't say whether there's any truth to that.
Anyway, everyone knows track one. It's great. A dark, creepy and interesting tune that one is. "Thrasher" is almost straight-up country, and it's very good. I enjoy it. "Pocahontas" almost brings me to tears with its amazing beauty, along with "Sail Away".
After that, the album starts rocking out. Funny how it's a gradual build. "Powderfinger" shows what's straight ahead- hard rock dominated by none other than guitars. "Welfare Mothers" is catchy and "Sedan Delivery" is an acquired taste, but numerous plays reveals a highly enjoyable song. It's strangely written, which might turn people off at first. "Hey Hey My My (Into the Black)" is like the first song but with heavy guitars thrown in, painting a darker image.
Neil at his best? Maybe.

"Hey, whaddaya think you're doing?"
"Oh, John, for God's sakes it's only Neil Young..."
The hackles on my neck immediately began to raise and my face got three shades redder, "Only Neil Young? I will have you know that this particular CD is a classic."
"Classic garbage..."
I grabbed the CD out of her hand and ripped out the Best of Abba (my wife's idea of classic music) out of the boom box and put this baby in. She sat there patiently listening to all the songs and after it was over all she could say was, "He's quite a whiner, isn't he?"
I took the CD out of the player and went inside and like a sulky teenager went in my room and put it in my CD player in the bedroom and put my headphones on and put on Hey Hey, My My on repeat and just let the King of the Fuzz guitar take me to deeper and deeper levels. Neil Young was crunching cords and distorting notes long before Nirvanna, Pearl Jam, or any other "grunge" group came on the scene. Neil Young needs his backup band Crazy Horse just like Crazy Horse needs him.
After the 12th listen my wife gently knocked on the bedroom door. "I want to apologize to you, John. I really didn't think you liked Neil Young that much. As a truce I made you a banana split."
I accepted the apology, the banana split and I got to keep my CD, but the next day I went looking for my Blue Oyster Cult CDs only to find out that they got tossed along with my favorite Hawaiin shirt...

Mere months passed between the release of Neil Young's mid-career milestone Rust Never Sleeps and this 1979 tour recording, which documents a late-'78 San Francisco performance. Indeed, Live Rust boasts four songs from the album that gave it its name. It's also sequenced in the same spirit as its studio sibling. As with Rust Never Sleeps, Live Rust opens with steady-flowing acoustic numbers before swirling into an electric vortex. What was side 4 off the original two-record version--"Like a Hurricane," "Hey, Hey, My, My," and "Tonight's the Night"--is arguably Young and Crazy Horse at their peak as a live unit, with all due respect to 1991's estimable Weld and 1997's desultory Year of the Horse. Few rock bands rank with Young and his stalwart electric trio, and Live Rust presents them in all their raging glory. --Steven StolderCustomer Reviews:

Perhaps the most outstanding folk album of the 1970s, this collection represents Baez's blossoming from a girlish folk icon into a mature interpreter of folk music. The title track (and, to a much lesser degree, "Dida" and "Children and All That Jazz") showcases her songwriting, but the intimate spin she puts on the music of others is what makes this the remarkable work it is. On Jackson Browne's "Fountain of Sorrow," Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate" and John Prine's "Hello in There," the purity of Baez's clear soprano (deeper and mellower than on her early albums) expresses the gentle pains of nostalgia and what-might-have-been. The medley of "Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair/Danny Boy" reminds us that no matter what other directions she moves in, Baez will always be a masterful singer of traditional folk music. --Barrie Trinkle --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.Album Details

This is Megadeth's best album and if you are a fan of metal or Megadeth (although, chances are if you are a fan of theirs you already own this). If you don't own this album and are/want to be a Megadeth fan, stop reading now and buy it.
My favorite songs (in no particular order):
- Tornado of Souls
- Poison Was The Cure
- Dawn Patrol
- Hangar 18
Not a single track on here that I don't like (although the demo versions on the reissue are kinda unnecessary, in my opinion) but those above are just my personal favorites.
Good thrash.......2007-04-19
Mustaine and Friedman dominate.......2007-04-09
The musical complexity on this album is unparalleled to almost all other albums. I don't know how Dave can sing and play guitar at the same time on these songs live. All the instruments are intrically played and extremely tight together. You would've thought Friedman and drummer, Nick Menza, were in this band for numerous years. There are three fan favorites on here, those being- Holy Wars, Hangar 18, and Tornado Of Souls. Tornado is my all time favorite Megadeth song. The whole thing is fast, agressive, non stop in-your-face metal, as is most of the album. There is real cool background singing about 1/3 of the way through chanting "who" when Dave belts out the rest. Holy Wars would be my second favorite song on here and maybe second favorite song ever by Megadeth. Of course it's a live encore staple. Hangar 18 is probably the most overall complex song on here, mainly because of the near ending, countless amount of solos. Five Magics is also a cool song with mythological lyrics. Take No Prisoners is lightening fast and the ending has an awesome metal chant. The only mediocre song whatsoever is Dawn Patrol, which is a tedious/noneventfull song with no guitars. Just drums, bass, and Dave talking the whole way through with a droning kind of voice. The bonus tracks are a cool extra, but I usually just stick to the studio tracks. My Creation is a real cool song though that would've have been a much better replacement for Dawn Patrol.
If you don't have this album yet, you are missing out on a huge part of thrash metal and metal history for that matter. This is one of the finest metal albums ever recorded and it is a must have for everyone. If you haven't heard Megadeth much and want to get into them or here more stuff, what better place to start then Rust In Peace. Believe me when I say that this album WILL NOT dissapoint.

It's Dreamy.......2007-01-10
Foster's songs are of a more innocent and naive time in the American psyche, a time that it would not hurt us to remember, given the wretched brutality of American culture today (something you'll appreciate after listening to this recording).
The songs are beautifully sung by Mr. Hamspon, and the musical accompaniment with piano, mandolin, tuba, banjo, etc. seems a perfect setting for this period music. I enjoyed the musical interludes of Foster songs (not sung by Mr. Hampson), such as "Oh, Suzanna", "My Old Kentucky Home", and "Camptown Races." They are foot-stompin' and finger-snappin' good in a non-syncopated way.
Mr. Hampson's voice is so beautiful, and he has done such a wonderful job with these song's you'll just have to hear it, and when you do, tell me that you're not dreaming.
I remember reading a quote by John Phillip Sousa that decried the use of syncopation in American popular music. I never understood it until listening to this recording. The richness and intensity of American popular music (as experienced in the work of Stephen Foster) has been lost.
Everything has to be so cool today, thanks to syncopation, and "cool" really means no emotion.
If emotion is what you want, emotion is what you'll get with Stephen Foster's songs. It was a time when the death of loved ones (especially those who died in their youth) was experienced more often (see "I Dream of Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair" and "Gentle Annie"). And we were not protected from the vicissitudes of fate by myriad government programs, modern medicine and universal prosperity (see "Hard Times").
Husbands and wives had their differences then, as today, (see the amusing song "My Wife is a Most Knowin' Woman") The passion of the Civil War (Foster was a Unionist),is reflected in a wonderful, fun song, "That's What's the Matter."
If you love good music, and you have heart which can be stirred, and you love your country, this is for you.
I love this recording. It has opened up the door to my "beautiful dreams," dreams of bygone days, lost love, and whatever else we pine for.
I wanted to buy several copies for my friends, but somehow I felt that the impact of this recording was so personal, that it could not be shared with others. Not that they couldn't enjoy it, but that I could not begin to share the intense emotion and reverie stirred in my heart by these beautiful songs.
My Favorite Composer of all time.......2006-08-20
I dream of Jeannie with the light brown hair
Born like a vapor on the summer air
I see her tripping where the bright streams play
Happy as the daisies that dance on her way
Many were the wild notes her merry voice would pour
but the violins in this CD make this CD the best out there..
FYI should you be into astrology Stephen Foster is definition of Cancer...Sun and Moon conjunct in Cancer with mars in Scorpio..i love his lyrics..almost to the point of obsession..
An American classic from Hampson that brings smiles and tears.......2006-07-17
In this 1992 collection of 17 Foster favorites, plus a few rareties, Hampson drops the platform manner and goes straight for heartfelt sincerity. His tone is plain yet sweet, his expression intimate. He is accompanied by instruments redolent of the Victorian drawing room (guitar, fiddle, upright piano), and the mood they create brings tears and smiles of remembrance. This music is embedded in America's genes, and it's wonderful to realize that every note is still alive and throbbing with feeling.
OMG!!! More than 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 stars, one of the best album in the world!!!.......2005-11-25
Thomas Hampson's voice is simply fantasic. His voice is very different from regular operatic baritone voice, very sweet, and rich. I really cant believe an operatic baritone can sing folk song like THIS good, in my opinion he sounds even better than his opera works in this album. His voice and the background music matches perfectly, the outcome would move u to tears, and u can feel the origin of MUSIC. This album really shows what the word MUSIC means, and the songs simply just ALL beautiful. I like his "beautiful dreamer", "my life is well knowing woman", and "jeanie with the light brown hair" the most. When I listen the songs I would just imagine that I am in the world of past USA, and I can feel the life of the ppl in the past USA~ just like watching an old classic movie, it would touch ur heart and fall in love with this album.
It's simply lovely.......2004-12-14
This CD is a revelation. The melodies are so beautiful, as are the poems, and Thomas Hampson just brings them to life as wonderfully as ever. I especially love "Beautiful Dreamer" - it gives me butterflies - and "My wife is a most knowing woman" - the way he makes the voices and the indignation is just brilliant. If one needed reminding what a brilliant singer Mr Hampson is - this disk does it.

Taking a second, haunting listen.......2007-06-12
Now, some 9 years later, I picked it up AGAIN, trying to give it a second whirl. I am not disappointed this time, and I wish I had never gotten rid of it. Sure, the pace is slow and dreary, but the fact that it still scares me is unbelievable. The songs, the lyrics, the vocals, the keyboards, all of it fits the mood. This album is unbelievable and should be heard by anyone who likes music.
The best song, by far, is still "Wolf Moon". Listen to this late at night, alone, and in a car ride through the country and you, too, will get shivers down your spine.

Happy Halloween, and beware the wolves at night..........2006-10-31
Taking the sludgy metal of Black Sabbath and the gothy atmospherics of the Cure, Type O Negative have crafted a distinctive style of doomy goodness that will fulfill all of your vampiric needs. Frontman Pete Steele's booming vocals drive these tracks perfectly, melding beautifully with the thick layers of guitars and keys. Songs like "Love You to Death", "Wolf Moon", and "Red Water" draw you in with their dark, enveloping melodies, with Pete's unique vocals underscoring them like no other vocalist could. But, all of the above are nearly a ray of sunshine compared to the closing track, the huge, epic "Haunted". This song crawls at a snail's pace for its 10-minute length, like some sinister creature emerging from the depths, and likewise Pete's vocals reach their peak of haunting evilness. The line "Oh, how I hate the morning light" is sung in such an impossibly low octave, you'd swear this fellow cannot be human. Purely awesome.
However, this album isn't all sludgy doom. There's plenty of diversity here, while keeping with the dark, sinister feel. "Die with Me" is more wistful and plaintive, while "Be My Druidess" has a vaguely Cure-like feel. The band also lighten things up a bit with the wacky pop tune "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend", and a fun cover of Neil Young's "Cinammon Girl".
Simply put, a Halloween without Type O is not complete. When you party with the ghosts and ghouls tonight, don't forget to put this on.

With Rust in Peace, Megadeth reached musical maturity. While not as slick and stripped-down as their later releases, it does bring the style developed on their earlier albums-basically, high-speed progressive metal-to a high point. Guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine and guitarist Marty Friedman are in fine form here, making technically complex passages sound easy. The lyrics aren't as smooth, but it's almost not worth quibbling over when the music is so good. It's all gut-wrenchingly aggressive, from "Holy Wars" to "Lucretia" to "Five Magics" to "Dawn Patrol," but "Hangar 18" and the title track are two high points, standing above the rest on what is already a fine album. --Genevieve WilliamsCustomer Reviews:
One of the Best.......2007-06-27
Mega masterpiece.......2007-06-02
Holy Wars...the Punishment Due kicks off proceedings with one of the finest slices of metal you'll hear anywhere. It moves through a number of sections and guitar attacks finally descending into a maelstrom of metallic fury. And a pretty cool video for it didn't hurt sales figures one little bit.
Hanger 18's video was not so widely loved but was indicative of the sort of budget Megadeth now commanded. As for the song itself it consists of Mustaine and Friedman trading licks in a synchromeshed six string symphony, - awesome stuff. The trend continues with Take No Prisoners in that it's an excellent tune but, again, different to Holy Wars just as Hanger 18 had a different feel to it. And ultimately that is one of the main reasons this is such an excellent album, ie the tunes are different but each one is great metal. Five Magics is a simple rivethead workout, Poison was the Cure is a denser listening experience whereas Lucretia and Tornado of Souls hit the nail on the head with typical Mustaine lyrical and musical aggression.
Things are slowed down considerably for Dawn Patrol which is almost totally dependant on a steady bass line and it's unsurprising this was one of the tunes co-written by Ellefson. The tune has a stripped back feel utterly different to the rest of the album and a thoroughly different pace. It essentially is a vision of a post apocolyptic world as envisaged by team Megadeth.
Rounding out the album is Rust in Peace... Polaris. A tune where some of the lyrics don't seem to flow too well and the aggression seems somewhat forced providing for a jarring effect on the listener increased by the fact that the drumming is also riding a stop/start rhythm. After the bare bones Dawn Patrol it provides a different metal experience to finish the album.
All up this entire album is pretty much the definitive Megadeth statement only challenged by Countdown to Extinction for supremacy in the bands catalogue. An album that showed the band had outgrown thrash and segued into pure metal built on the foundations of solid chops and a will to conquer. The ensure tour levelled cities.
Definetely MEGADETH's best album !!!.......2007-05-23
Rust In Peace is right up there with Metallica's Ride The Lightning. I know many people prefer Master Of Puppets over Ride The Lightning, but I don't, and I don't prefer Megadeth's Peace Sells... over Rust In Peace.
It's all personal preference. I like this, you like that. But that's not what this review is about, so let me get back to the album at hand.
In Megadeth's 1990 album Rust In Peace, Megadeth have accomplished an album equal to Metallica's 1984 Ride The Lightning. Even though these albums are 6 years apart, I find them to be very similar. And I am not saying Megadeth ripped off Metallica or that Megadeth are slow learners. Anyway the similarities that I find most stand out are the overall blue colour of the artworks, the crisp yet harsh sound, and the perfect mix of trash and progression, and also I must add that all the songs on both of these albums are my favourite songs by both bands. There is not one song I do not like.
I can't help comparing Rust In Peace to Ride The Lightning, just look at the artworks. Then listen to the music, and you too may notice the similarities.
Rust In Peace & Ride The Lightning FOREVER !!!
Don't Look Now to Is-Ra-El, it Might be Your Homeland.......2007-05-03
The first track, "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due," kicks off with a galloping bout of E-minor scale triplets--summoned from Dave Mustaine's enviable black-polished Jackson Flying V--which are soon accentuated by Nick Menza's tom tom pummeling. There are riffs galore, for nearly two minutes, before Mustaine's neutered wail of "Brother will kill brother" enters the scene, riffs that fluctuate from feverish, stuttering leaps to crunchy half-time power-chord progressions. The vocals soar over a rhythm figure that took me two and a half years to learn how to play while singing; with off-kilter switching between thirds and fifths, it smoothly adds fusion jazz into a fiercely distorted, decidedly metal mix. An over-the-top (yet somehow appropriate) flamenca lead from frizzy-haired Jewish guitarist Marty Friedman (making his debut as the only talented Megadeth lead guitarist to date) leads into an atonal caveman stomp with Mustaine's characteristic robot growl, depicting a first-hand account from soapbox leaders turned suicide bombers. Then the melancholy E-minor to C major bridge (my reason for existing, practically, upon hearing it for the first time in 9th Grade) unfolds, its denseness broken up by gorgeous open-string ringing; the same chord changes are played two steps up, with palm-muted arpeggios, under the two screaming Friedman solos that separate the bridge's vocal passages. Out of nowhere, a riff alternating between natural harmonics picked at Mach 10-speed and an earlier figure played double-time obliterates all the gloomy aesthetics of the bridge, and Mustaine's outro solo proves his rage at being kicked out of Metallica seven years earlier had scarcely subsided. "Holy Wars" is an incredible opener, maybe the best metal album opener besides "...And Justice for All's" "Blackened."
"Hangar 18" continues on the subtle theme of Mustaine's harbored bitterness towards his former peers. The four rapidly downpicked chords in the intro are identical to those used in Metallica's "The Call of Ktulu," which Mustaine received a writing credit for. Obviously, he wasn't about to see his original song mangled without proper revenge. "Hangar 18" tells of aliens cryogenically frozen somewhere in the Nevada desert, but this song is not at all memorable for its lyrics. It features no less than EIGHT guitar solos, each of them unpredictable, sometimes downright whacky. Spontaneously, the song shifts into an Arabian raga tempo midway through, with Friedman breathlessly mastering his Arabian scales. The song's five solo finale renders "Hangar 18" a veritable guitar aficionado museum, a textbook for wannabe shredders.
"Take No Prisoners" is a bit of a throwaway track, certainly lyrically (hell, they ALL are lyrically!) and somewhat musically, with a lot of stop-and-start teasing...and these are generic F# riffs from Mustaine's own back catalogue. Still, there's joy to be had in Mustaine's yowl of "Got one chance!" and the robotic response section bellowing "Infiltrate them!" There are a lot of "-ate thems!" to come.
"Five Magics," about sorcery, for Christ's sake, has some beautiful tritonal arpeggios and a 5/4 stomp showing off Megadeth's versatility.
"Poison Was the Cure" has a bluesy bass intro (this is the only album where bassist David Ellefson's range is shown off to proper advantage) that leads into a mercifully short quadruple-time thrash about Mustaine's past heroin abuse (a common theme on the album, beautifully stated).
"Lucretia" may be the jazziest song in metal history.
But the album's true highlight is "Tornado of Souls," a song adored by metal nutjobs and indie snobs alike. B-minor harmonics pave the way to the song's central riff; spidery yet simple, crunchy yet steadily soaring, it's laid out in the key of B, but later on, the same riff is played under shifting chords that clash perfectly with its notes. A very similar progression, just different enough to warrant attention with its harmonized thirds, leads into perhaps the best metal solo of all time: never too much nor too little, with octave chords, sweep picking and (tasteful) finger tapping, the solo is the ultimate manual for how to reign in rock god excess.
"Dawn Patrol," I believe, could have easily been excised from "Rust in Peace." Gimmicky and lame, it's dominated by irritating Cockney-accent vocals and a show-offy blues bass riff.
Who knows what to make out of the lyrics on the album's final track, "Rust in Peace/Polaris"? "Eradication of/Earth's population loves/Polaris." WHAT?! But never mind that. Alternating between tribal triplets and funky stomps, made memorable by Mustaine's crude yowl of "I spread disease like a dog," it's a fitting closer to an exceptional album. The band was never in finer form, before or after, and it's pretty much the only record in which it's evident that the volatile Mustaine kept his ego in check.
One of the best metal albums ever........2007-03-08
Rust in Peace has brought tears to my eyes at times...it's THAT awesome.

YEAH, THEY ARE "THAT BAND".......2007-05-18
Yet another consistent and engaging album from the group.......2007-03-28
Times change a bit, and with seemingly every member of the group participating in about 3 other projects, there was bound to be a period where their other obligations would pull them away. With several members sharing time in the successful Broken Social Scene and other members having children and generally living their lives, it's been almost four years between the release of Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn and the long-awaited You, You're A History In Rust. Like previous albums, there are places where the release doesn't sink in on first listen, and yet in most places it's like they haven't skipped a beat.
Opening track "Bound To Be That Way" is a perfect example of the group falling right back into things, as the song mixes gorgeous heavy strums of guitar with more propulsive sections that incorporate everything from banjo to buzzing bass while peaking in two delightful crescendos. "A With Living" follows, and it's a slight curveball, with vocal contributions from Akron/Family that really flesh things out in places while at the same time running a bit overlong at over nine minutes in length.
A nice mixture of upbeat and more measured instrumental work, the release shows off some nice dynamics from the group, with everything from cranked-up guitar workouts like "The Universe" to hushed acoustic guitar and ambience pieces like "A Tender History In Rust." In some ways, the release feels like sort of a fifty-minute compendium of all their work done to date, with songs that have similar feels to different tracks off past albums without sounding directly like anything else they've done before.
As a fan of the group, it's simply hard to argue with propulsive pieces like "Executioner's Blues," which scatters their insanely lush guitar chords and crisp polyrhythms over more guitar parts and synths that cascade and build to gleeful blowouts. Like their previous album, they even end things with a downright poppy track that's upbeat while holding just a hint of resignation (and an insanely loud ending). In the end, You, You're A History In Rust is eight more songs from a group who as mentioned above has become one of the more remarkably consistent and adventurous ones out there, especially considering the crowded playing field that they inhabit. One of my favorite albums so far in this very young year.

Doing, making, saying and thinking their most consistent album to date.......2007-02-27
It may not hold all the cathartic release of previous master-tracks, but side-by-side this album is a more musically captivating whole then anything previous, all we could have asked for is a longer album with more cuts. Unfortunately, the band may even be trying a little too hard to branch out into the uncharted territories of, gasp, vocals, bleeding through their BSC influence on the disc's only lapse from an underlying constructive integrity all other songs provide (which in the latter half, so blatantly molds an awesome guitar line after Enemy Airship's "Apartment Song" that I hope it was some sort of intended reflection, but probably isn't). Rest assured, everything else manages to keep this band completely relevant, confident that they remain in an awesome state creatively.
1st impressions track by track:
1.Powerfully tight, fluid opener capitalizing on all their upbeat strengths
2.Plodding, vocal laden track, latter half paying homage? to an earlier album's riff
3.Melodically intricate, spirited, unrelenting rock flow predicated upon the bombastic simpleton chorus
4.Spacey intro giving way to acoustic melancholy of an introspective order
5.playfull yet mesmerizing, beautifully woven soft/loud dynamics amidst the romantic, historical musicality
6.convincing synthesis of past album's drugbore cowboy essence
7.another hypnotic new-school psychedelic jam caves in a little on itself before rising to the bombastic level of genius the band has cultivated and rides it to a sunrise end
8. winning down-home ditty that blasts off and manages to use it's other vocal section effectively despite an overbearing distortion fading out

Excellent follow up to 'Signs of Life'.......2007-06-12
Why aren't they here?.......2007-02-02
I own around 700 CD's, listen to XM radio, go to concerts as often as I can, and I write and play music. I can honestly say that Poets of the Fall spent way more time in my CD player than anyone else this past year, and if you listen to them, it is easy to see why. The musicianship is outstanding. Each song has a great hook that will have you singing along very quickly. The lead vocals and the harmonies are both beautiful and catchy and the lyrics will leave you anywhere from deeply contemplative in your listening to heartbroken or perhaps even to occasionally chuckling at the whimsicle observations of some of life's great questions. Not only that, but the production values are pristine, setting a standard for other bands to reach towards in their own projects.
There is not a single "bad" song on the CD, thought there are some that stand out more than others. Those that do stand out will keep you popping Poets into your system oveer and over again.
My only complaint is that they are still being overlooked by the American music conglomerates. Sure, there is a lot of great music in the US, but Finland has got it made with one of the greatest rock bands in the world right now in my opinion.
I am jealous of all you Finlandians!.......2007-01-26
Fire - Great way to open an album, the guitar solo rocks and everything about this song is awesome.
Sorry Go Round - The second single from the album, sadly no music video was done to this song at least not to my knowledge. Pretty cool chorus, you'll find yourself singing along to this one while driving over the speed limit down the highway. (not that I'm encouraging that)
Carnival of Rust - WONDERFUL!!! I seriously can't get enough of this song, first single of the album and with good reason. I actually kinda like this one more than Late Goodbye (which is an excellent song btw) this one will definitely grab anyone's attention even if you aren't that much of a fan. Wondefully written, and I can definitely relate to the lyrics.
Locking Up The Sun - EXCELLENT choice for the third single and cool video btw. Everytime I hear this I just have to sing along and head bang as if I were part of the lucky Finland crowd that watch these guys play live.
Gravity - Pretty cool song, it sounds like many productive jam sessions from the sound of the riffs and drumming, cool guitar solo too, love it!
King of Fools - Very nice laid back song, beautifully written song.
Roses - This song puts a smile to my face when I hear it, good song to sing to your girlfriends guys.
Desire - Beautiful song, if I started a band this is something I would love to play to a crowd.
All The Way/4 U - WOW, I mean seriously WOW!!! This one has to be my favorite song from these guys, This is the kind of music I would love to be able to write and play live. This is another one of those songs that you'd want to dedicate to your girlfriends. It starts out mellow and slow, then climaxes to this powerful chorus that will just bring tears to your eyes. AMAZING SONG!!
Delicious - Another one of their fast paced songs that will get ya singing along and speeding down the freeway, cool song!
Maybe Tomorrow is a Better Day - COOL! Nice intro, brings goosebumps down my arm when I hear this song. This song has a good message just like pretty much all of their songs do, especially if you're having a crappy day. Excellent rock riffs in this song, I can just see the people crowd surfing to this chorus.
Dawn - Great way to end the album, meloncholy feeling to this song but of course that doesn't hurt to have these type of songs. Nicely done!
So as you can tell I'm a huge fan from the US and I cannot get over how awesome these guys are, they must have had great influences to write beautiful songs like these. I hope these guys can come out to the US and play some concerts. Thanks POTF for writing such great songs.
From Finland with love..........2007-01-06
